The Lebanese people had ample opportunity to go after the Hizbollah leadership in the past. Instead, they voted overwhelmingly for them in local elections, voted them into power in the national government, and - through their representative government - refused the UN's request to disarm them. The Lebanese people as a whole are no innocent bystanders in this situation. People need to learn that in a democracy, you get what you vote for. I think the Germans who elected Hitler in 1933 learned their lesson. Now, the Palies and the Lebanese are learning the same lesson. I found a paper from the sixties and the front page headlines stated that Israel had been attacked by terrorists. How long does this need to continue. The UN is a joke. The Lebanese people are getting rich from supporting Hizbullah and through them Iran. So they'll never decry Hizbullah. Iran will just give more money and they'll start all over again and next time will be an even worse war.

Can someone please explain what the IDF is trying to acheive with this indiscimant bombardment of Lebanon. OK, what is it? We have about 1200 years of history to choose from. What has ever worked, when one side will kill and keep killing.
