61. THEY WON'T BLAME HEZBOLLAH
Arik Silverman ,   MIlwaukee USA   (07.13.06)
FIRST, I'm still not clear where this began. Was it a Hezbollah kidnaping in the Shebaa farms area, or did they intrude into Israel proper, the internationally recognized 1948 border between Israel and Labanon. SECOND: However illogical it might be, history teaches us that people usually blame those attacking them, not very often those bringing on the attack. I.E. Lebanese are more likely to blame Israel than Hezbollah. If anything, Hezbollah will be strengthened by these attacks. SURELY THERE MUST BE A WISER COURSE TO FOLLOW.

63. WHAT FRANCE WOULD UNDER TERRORIST ATTACK
Jacques Chirac   (07.14.06)
French president Jacques Chirac said Thursday that he would use nuclear weapons against any state that served as a base for terrorists who attacked his country http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2006/1/21/123808.shtml
64. I love Israeli response to the terrorists
Rao Addepalli ,   Chicago India   (07.14.06)
I love the way Israel is responding to attacks by the islamic terrorists by taking the fighting into their land. This is such a contrast to the spineless response that is repeatedly displayed by Indian leadership to islamic terror attacks facilitated by the pakistani establishment

The Lebanese people had ample opportunity to go after the Hizbollah leadership in the past. Instead, they voted overwhelmingly for them in local elections, voted them into power in the national government, and - through their representative government - refused the UN's request to disarm them. The Lebanese people as a whole are no innocent bystanders in this situation. People need to learn that in a democracy, you get what you vote for. I think the Germans who elected Hitler in 1933 learned their lesson. Now, the Palies and the Lebanese are learning the same lesson. Perhaps in the future they'll think twice before pulling the lever for religious bigots.

You think true democracy exists in lebanon? laughable! the countrys government is totally corrupt . I have lived in this country and been in the company of politicians! and you say lebanese people as a whole arent innocent bystanders? there is a small section of lebanese that are hezbollah most are not and hate the unfair control they have , dont you know that they are linked with syria? lebanese wanted the syrians out and succeeded.. what does that say to you? is that a country that wants a syrian linked militant group in their country? No it is a country struggling to gain a democracy that you take for granted. It is a very fragile situation they wanted to avoid civil war they cant just kick them out as syria is supported by Iran ! try and know your facts before making sweeping ridiculous generalisations about hitler...

68. Kill them all !!!
Tim ,   USA   (07.21.06)
I found a paper from the sixties and the front page headlines stated that Israel had been attacked by terrorists. How long does this need to continue. The UN is a joke. I hope the USA cuts off the funding for the UN and kicks them out of our country. We should quit funding the Palestinians with aid, also. Israel kicks ass! We stand beside you! It is time to kill every single one of the terrorist lunatics. I hope you take out Iran and Syria. Turn it to glass. God Speed!
69. Lebanon innocence
splungy ,   jerusalem israel   (07.25.06)
The Lebanese people are getting rich from supporting Hizbullah and through them Iran. So they'll never decry Hizbullah. Iran will just give more money and they'll start all over again and next time will be an even worse war.

Can someone please explain what the IDF is trying to acheive with this indiscimant bombardment of Lebanon. Are they not aware that the only fuel to radical islamicism is despair and having thier soverignty violated. This current seige is making a bad situation worse and worse. Israel was so close to having an allie in the region, but is now drifting further and further away from it.
71. "Surely there must be a wiser course"
Robert ,   USA   (07.30.06)
OK, what is it? We have about 1200 years of history to choose from. What has ever worked, when one side will kill and keep killing. When one sides hides amoung the civilians and uses them as human shields/convenent corpses? Goes in when attacked, removes the weapons, THEN brings in reporters to take pictures? "Oh, look at the HORROR that "they" have done to these poor, defenseless woeman and children!!" I've only seen it for over 45 years.

Due to the time lapse from IDF strike and the collapse of the residential building - shows that the collateral damage was due to the building being used as a WAREHOUSE, a storeroom for ammunition which intensified the explosion only after a few hours. Finally your article made mention of this (as did FOX news). That's what PM Olmert meant when he said they were lying down with missiles - literally.

Read that blog you link to. What Tehran "learned" statement seems to say {between the lines} is: We intend to fight to the last Lebanese (as long as it provides a smoke screen to our nuclear weapons prograhm, our links to terrorism, our hatred for everything not Persian, [Yes, they are Persians, not arabs]. I'll keep my hopes up for Israel. Especially after going to the American Congress for Truth Website.
