Israel needs to retaliate very severely for the kidnapping of their soldiers and killing of their citizens. But not through imitating the terrorists' techniques. The main reason is this: they don't give a damn about the lives of their own people. They have a culture focused on death, and nothing will stop them from their self-destruction. What Israel needs to do it hit back hard militarily, and not just directly at the perpetrators, but at the financiers, the enablers and the supporters. That is to say, bomb the crap out of Syria and Iran. Bring on a real war, where soldiers can risk their lives in a brief conflict, rather that what we have now which is the death of a thousand cuts, and where only civilians are killed, one by one.
