We dont need them, they are slums. Jerusalem is another story though. While I realize Jerusalem is an important city for many religions muslims/arabs are kept out for a reason. They cause trouble and like to blow things up. When was the last time you heard of a christian setting off a suicide bomb? Israel has a long history of negotiating with their neighbors. As history has taught us before you cannot negotiate with the terrorists. You must crush them. The day Hamas, Hizbollah, Islamic Jihad, PRC, PLO, etc. stop blowing up bombs is the day we have peace. Israel has repeatedly stated that they want peace but the arabs want war. So that's what they will get. It's just an endless cycle that no one wants to admit they are wrong. Israelis dont hate Arabs. Israelis would love it if Arabs laid down their arms and became our closest friends. However, this will never happen until either the world blows up or the arabs come to their senses.

I am an Israeli citizen who lives in NY, I grew up in a city called Petach Tikva where we had few terror acts. few of my family members got hurt in terror acts. i forgive coz i understand that you need your own independence though i cannot forget and move on. the main problem is the "occupation" but it could not be called "occupation" since it is our land since forever. A 2-state solution will never work out. combining Israel with Palestine is even a worse idea. what is the solution? coz war is def. not the ideal one.... and u also said :" we love life and we want peace" what i believe is that people who love life, will not leave their family, and go bomb themselves just to kill some other people (israelis in this case), this is not the way to love life.. and also palestinian people kill innocents, the IDF tries his best to kill only terrorists and activists in terror organizations, too bad there are TOO many...
