61. FLATTEN IT !!!! WE ALL AGREE!!
ME ,   UK   (07.27.06)
Why did IDF generals send these young soldiers on a suicide mission? The civilians were warned to leave the town - so if hezbollah is suspected to be residing inside a house - FLATTEN IT! If the IDF is not prepared to flatten the house, whether it be for political or other reasons - so be it - but DON"T SEND YOUNG SOLDIERS ON A SUICIDE MISSION.
62. Dirty political game?
Ehud ,   Natanya   (07.27.06)
I don't why I have the feeling that this war is yet another dirty political game between Kadima and Likud, days will prove that to all of us, hope not though.
63. no need to be weak
victory ,   israel   (07.27.06)
i agree that loosing 8 soldiers is a big loss , but we are in war and war have casualties , why we should panic if we loose soldiers , why we shoul appear afraid when someone is killed from us , huzballa are counting on this reaction from us that israel people became weak when they loose one soldier , we have to fight and to be with our governemet , and we will win at the end ,

Tricia Schwitzer ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (07.27.06)
When we wipe away the tears of sadness, gratitude and respect will remain for these brave young men who gave their lives for the most worthiest cause. My heartfelt condolences to their families and friends. Let them take comfort in the fact that Am Yisroel and Jews everywhere share their pain. God bless and be strong.
69. They are looking for the death, so they will win
Master ,   USA   (07.27.06)
No matter what is the result, who will win, all will pay for it, except the USA. Now, it is the time for it (USA) to weaken Israel. They select the time and place for it. I wonder if any of us accept killing children, women or old men and women. Something that I can’t accept, my message is this, all can live in peace, and the war will have its effect forever. Flatten Lebanon would not stop attacks, I thing negotiation would do better. Let’s stop it and thing carefully, flatten Lebanon is equal to Burning Israel. An easy hit to areas with hazardous materials would make it the last day. Yes, Israel is very strong but that is not against people seeking for the death or the victory. Those like every body else have own family and feel like or better than those of us toward their communities. Mothers, please go out and stop it before having us under the regime.

73. Thoughts from a Golani 51 Soldier
Philip Blumenfeld ,   USA/ISRAEL   (07.27.06)
While at work in Boston I received a found call from my friend in Israel. It took him a few minutes but he finally got the two words out that were so hard for him to say. “Merchaviah Neharag.” Merchaviah was killed. Amichai Merchaviah was one of my closest friends in the army. He was one of the most special people I have ever known. I recall now our first week in training camp. Our officer told us that “we must learn what it means to sacrifice for one another.” He announced that two people must volunteer to stay on the base for the weekend, while everyone went home for Shabbat. He told us that we have just a few minutes to decide. Whether we wanted to draw lots or someone was going to volunteer – that was up to us. Remember that this was our first Shabbat after being drafted into the army! Everyone wanted to go home and show off their new uniforms, their new gun. Everyone wanted to see their friends, their family and get a hug, a kiss, some of mother’s good cooking. But before anyone has any time to say anything Amichai says, “Ani Mitnadev” – I volunteer. Needless to say after he made this statement the second volunteer was easily found. See, everyone looked up to Amichai. Why? Because he would do anything for his friends, his comrades and this was apparent even by the first week of training. Throughout my service Amichai always volunteered to do the jobs that no one wanted to do, to take the guarding shifts that no one else wanted to take. He did this out of his love for his friends and he did this for another reason which I only understood much later in my training. In essence, Amichai, through the constant help that he gave to us, created an environment in which everyone wanted to help the other. By the end of the first month when people were asking who wants to take the “bad” guard duty Amichai - as usual - would say that he would, but this time everyone in our tent would object and someone else would gladly volunteer. It is not because we felt guilty. Rather, it was because we all learned from Amichai that you don’t “sacrifice for your friends” when it is convenient and easy for you. Davkah, specifically, when things are tough: you are tired, you are hungry, you got yelled at that day and life isn’t treating you well, that you can look beyond yourself and help your friend – this is true sacrifice. I can write for days about Amichai. To say the least, no one in our group was surprised when Amichai received a Golani Honor for Excellent Soldier when we became official Golani soldiers. Essentially, Amichai taught our group how to become one entity. The army saw this in Amichai. He was a natural born leader, who only a short while ago became an officer in Golani 51. Today I feel like I lost one of my brothers. Amichai started his army career sacrificing for his comrades and today he ended it sacrificing for his people. May we all continue to learn from Amichai and the rest of our fallen heroes. Hashem Nekam Damam. PHILIP
74. Nasrullah is better
Master ,   USA   (07.27.06)
Yes, our government lies are increasing; no one knows what is happening in the battle. In first days, no missal was sent toward any of our civilian areas but our government hit everywhere in Lebanon without distinguishing or considering any moral criteria. Hezbollah and Nasrullah warn from attacking or invading Lebanon by any mean; and told us that it will be very painful. He told the truth and was looking not to heart us but those leading the country understand nothing. Now, it is the time to go back to the table and forget the power, start building the country and having good relation with every one. We don’t need to be scared more, here or outside.
75. They are correct
Master ,   USA   (07.27.06)
They are correct, we can not stop this war, we have to obey USA. I Believe everybody of us is dreaming to stop it, except USA and those living away from the battle.

Jason Gardner ,   Sydney, Australia   (07.29.06)
"They shall grow not old As we that are left grow old Age shall not weary them Nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun, And in the morning, We will remember them" These are the lines recited at every rememberance ceremony for fallen Australians. The fact that SGT Namer left the comfort and safety of Sydney to fight for his birth nation is something to respect. Our condolences to the families of all the fallen. May the Almighty give you all comfort.
