1. Impossible?
Da dude   (07.29.06)
Well I guess then 1948,1967, and 1973 just never happened. I guess we might have to find another option instead of an EU force. Because if they've got this attitude, well then Hizb'allah will eat'em alive.
2. So, to the peacekeeping chief, Maj. Gen. Alain Pellegrini,
Márcia ,   Brazil   (07.29.06)
negotiating a cease fire is actually surrendering?
3. Then, the UN is no longer needed. Good night, gentlemen, you
Márcia ,   Brazil   (07.29.06)
may go home now.
4. UN - lebanese blood is worth more than israeli blood?
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (07.29.06)
it is very telling that the UN "fears" the destruction and deaths in lebanon, but not the destruction and deaths in israel. same old UN.
5. "Israel will flatten villages, Tyre"
Michael Steiner   (07.29.06)
Let's hope so!! About time we stopped putting our soldiers at risk by trying to act nice. As Yishai said: turn the villages into sandboxes and THEN send in the troops.
6. STOP WAR NOW!
Ehud ,   Hiroshima JAPAN   (07.29.06)
What are the objectives of this war? If it was crushing Hezbollah, why haven't we crushed them yet? it is was stopping rockets from the north, why are they still coming witht he same exact rate and at even farther distances? If it was freeing hostages, why are they still away from their families? There is only one solution: STOP WAR NOW! Negociate, and make peace.!! STOP WAR NOW!
7. Proof that UN collaborates with Hizbnazis
Ashan ,   Israel   (07.29.06)
Morczynski speaks of intercepts of Hizbnazi communications. Obviously, UN "peacekeepers" are in on terror operations against Israel. Nazirallah is their kind of hero. Tough guy - shooting rockets filled with ball bearings at Israeli civilians. The UN is as much a part of the problem as the Hizbnazis.
8. Disagree. Public's not stupid.
Scott   (07.29.06)
The Israeli public is aware of what's going on and whats at stake and how hard its going to be to beat the Hez. They will do it.
9. Is he encouraging more destructions and kilings??
mark ,   New Delhi   (07.29.06)
This guy has an obligation to remain neutral in such conflicts especielly in the place where he is assigned for peacekeeping. But, instead he appears to be taking side of the Isreali terror against Lebanese people. He seems to be suggesting to flatten the entire South Lebanon including Tyre. How many more innocents lifes are enough for this blood thursty vampires, I wonder!! It reminds me another blood thursty British General "Sir Michale Ross" ,who worked for the UN during Bosnian war.
10. #1- Hizbollah wasn't around in those days.. tard
Yobo ,   Australia   (07.29.06)
try - 1982, 1996, 2000 (hizbollah defeated IDF)
11. Is that why their leader is hiding underground?
(07.29.06)
12. flatten of tyre
timor   (07.29.06)
i don't think tyre only will be flatten also other city same as haifa , akko , saida , and............ i think peace is better
13. Toy Missiles
John ,   NZ   (07.29.06)
Right now, Iran is supplying Hezbolla with toy missiles to get Israel busy and Hez. is happy to play with it. Even Hezbolla is being used in this situation. When Iran has the nuke bomb ready, they will nuke this whole region, irrespective of Lebanon, Hizbolla, Palestine and of cos Israel. Now Israel is given the golden opportunity to hit Iran since the missiles are from there but I don't think Israel is taking. So, all this is playing into the hands of the Iranians. Iran has been using others to terrorise the whole world by funding and training terrorists and this latest war is no different.
14. koffi and his merry men
arie   (07.29.06)
stop the un Bias unifil stood by while the hisballash (Iran syria) pilled rockets into south lebanon UNIFIL you are totaly useless what were you observing the last six years ,
15. Is that what your IAF was trained for?
Fact Checker   (07.29.06)
After all these years of training, and countless hours of flying, you bombed houses with civilians, incinirated cars with fleeing families, and did nothing to curb attacks on you. Is this what you trained for? What happens after you bomb buildings, flatten them, and take out roads? Are you going burn trees so Hisbullah fighters can't hide behind them? Are you going to flatten mountains so Hisbullah fighters don't attack from them? When are you going to face the truth? You are weak. You morales are down. You will not succeed.
16. Israel will win!
Yonaton ,   Chiloquin, OR. USA   (07.29.06)
Every commentary about every war Israel has fought has said Israel can not win. Hashem wins the wars for Israel not the Israel government. Each of Israels troops is a soldier for Hashem and each enemy has no protection when Hashem wants them dead.
17. Lebanon's Choice
Robert Tilden ,   Sheridan WY   (07.29.06)
Lebanese who are not Hizbollah have a choice: back up Hizbollah, in which case they ARE abading terrorists and not 'innocent civilians' A vote for Hamas is helping terrorism, not 'Inocent' or, they can show that they are democratic and not sheep willing to be taken over the edge. Kick Hizbollah out of the goverment, demonstrate against them in the streets of Bairut.
18. Flatten whole villages
MOSHE ,   LOS ANGELES,USA   (07.29.06)
WHAT HAPPENED TO ISRAELI ARMY. THEY SHOULD START CLEAN UP. DON'T WORRY ABOUT WORLD OPINION BECAUSE THEY ARE AGAINST ISRAELI ANY WAY. IF HZB CAN DO THE FLATTEN OF ISRAELI THEY WILL DO IT IN A SECOND. SO PLEASE IAF DO A GOOD JOB AND LET IRAN AND SYRIA BE PROUD OF HZB. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME START THE FLATTEN TONIGHT.
19. How do they know?
Ana ,   Spain   (07.29.06)
How do the UN troops know Hizbollah is undefeatable? They dont have even tried to.
20. why hezbollah can be defeated
cordier   (07.29.06)
You say that hezbollah can be defeated because hezbollah is an ideology; Kill the men and you will kill the ideology. Hezbollah is a gang of five thousand fighters. Kill them, destroy their flats. In the south of the litani river all military able men are in facto members of hezbollah, shoot them or put them in jail. There is 100 000 lebanese left inthis region it is ten thousand military able men. Shoot the finance men, the shiite millionaires of africa who finance them. Shoot their mollah. Do a terre brûlé politic in south lebanon, destroy all that serve the life. Destroy the litani barrage which regulate the river. No inhabitant in south lebanon, no hezbollah, no terrorism. Go in their village with bulldozers as in jenine. use more snipers and special force and shoot every military able men, napalm their forests.
21. UN peacekeepers?
ahsay ,   israel   (07.29.06)
Could somebody please tell me what the UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon has been doing for the last 6 years? Have they seen the rockets being imported into Lebanon? Have they stopped the Hizbolla fighters from attacking Israel?
22. You can try
Ramo ,   Jerusalem   (07.29.06)
You can try to flatten the entire country, but do you think it will make you any safer? Israel still didnt learn from its past. You will only make more enemies and more people full of hate. and I realy doubt that will make israel any safer.
23. Is the UN spying on Hizbollah?!
(07.29.06)
As a former UN employee I think this a big mistake! The UN should provide no information about Hizbollah or Israel to the other side. By doing so they the UN is actually a party in the conflict.
24. Excellent recommendation by UN official
Larry ,   Eastbourne, UK   (07.29.06)
Mr Morczynski provides not only a sensible suggestion for dealing with the terror bases in Tyre and south Lebanon, but also a moral justification for the destruction of these places. For once, some sense from the UN.
25. Conclusion: LEAVE LEBANON NOW!
Proud Grandpa ,   www.KingArik.net   (07.29.06)
You can diminish Hezbollah's capabilities for a short while and that's it. As long it is motivated to strike Israel it will. Sacrifying soldiers for such elusive goal is futile. Better reach an understanding (Like Grapes of Wrath) better response proportionately when Hezbollah breaches an agreement. Waging an all out war as a response for a provocation is a big mistake. It wears out IDF and portrays Hezbollah not as a terrorist organization but as a tough army.
26. God help all of us!!
pessimistic ,   haifa   (07.29.06)
If the U.N. is a representation of Nations who are "supposedly" there to protect and observe then they have failed miserably. Kofi Annan makes me sick.he berates Israel in every opportunity..I cant wait for his term to end. The whole of the U.N. is made of weak minded people who have no real agenda, and no understanding of the Israel/Arab conflict..its a mentality, not something u can observe fm the side..the way this article reads it cud just as well be a recruiting advertisment for Hizbollah...Hello this is a terrorist group SHMUCKOS today its us..tomorrow the U.N. Its sort of like raising kids...The best parents are the ones who show unity and strength (even if single) those who show weakness and indecisiveness are the ones who are easily manipulated. EURABIA watch the TV screen u are next in line..
27. goodbye UN
(07.29.06)
28. French military?
Francois ,   Paris & Montréal   (07.29.06)
French military is an oxymoron, even Sderot Midgets Association will smash them. Who cares about these irrelevant idiots who praise chatting but despise action.
29. taking sides against israel
paulo2005 ,   lisbon,portugal   (07.29.06)
it is funny how some claimed the UN oficial was being pro Israeli. Actually it is the oposite. He was taking the side of the lebanese. Was he is claiming is that Israel will level wholle cities if not stoped. These declarations only increase the pressure on the US for demanding a cease fire
30. Amazing how much information the UN has.
Mike ,   Israel   (07.29.06)
The UN claims to know all this, if it wasnt so sad it would be funny. You would think with all this ground information they seem to have, they would use it to stop the fighting or even better yet prevent it in the first place. But being the UN as it is, it has proven the test of time that it is a body that acts againts the interest of Israel, and the free world. They should change there name form UN to spokesman for Hezbullah, funny how they ask for 72hrs cease fire, i think someone miss spoke and meant to say 72 virgins.
