3. Expensive Folly!
Lindon Richards ,   Milpitas, USA   (08.04.06)
To all the pro Hezbollah crowd out there, just a few questions for you. In light of the fact that Lebanon and Hezbollah appear to be paying the highest price, was all this worth the capture of two soldiers? What advice will you be giving to Hezbollah in the future? The previous Isreali invasion of Lebanon, lasted 22 years and cost well over 18,000 Lebanese lives, so what was the purpose of inviting another one ? What is the advantage of having a state within a state ? In light of the experiences of Lebanon, Somalia, and Afganistan, how much political stability and sustained economic prosperity can be expected from countries with more than one competing authorities? Oh before I go, here is one more thought. Since you choose to have a war, well, love your war , stay with it enjoy your war, along with, what ever gifts you may receive courtesy of the IDF.
4. Bravo
Tariq ,   Beirut   (08.04.06)
50 civilians plus 17 civilians plus 33 farm workers.. a total of 100 human beings. If 100 birds were killed in one day animal righs movements across the globe would declare a international emergency. This is a really impressive achievement for the so-called IDF! wake up people of human rights and democracy!! shame on you Israel...
5. no talkback
Tariq ,   Beirut   (08.04.06)
no wonder there are no talkbacks for this article!! u only publish one sided views!!
6. Peaches, Plums & Missiles
Jason ,   Wilmington   (08.04.06)
Where do they get these news reports? 50 buried in rubble. Is that like the 56 last time when only 28 were found? These articles make it sound like fruit and civilians are being targeted. The truth is that a truck coming from Syria is likely to be missiles and a building hit is being used for cover for missiles or a base for terrorists. It would be nice if the terrorists wore uniforms and drove army trucks, clearly marked as such, but they do not. They use civilians for cover and this is the price the civiliams pay.
7. How to stop the bombings!
David   (08.04.06)
1. Hezbollah stop launching rockets. 2. Return the prisoners to Israel. It is as simple as that.
8. peaches and plums
Jerome Marcus ,   Philadelphia, PA, US   (08.04.06)
I can't help wondering if these peaches and plums were the same shape and color as the ones in my refrigerator, or if they were, perhaps, the kind that explode and release shrapnel when thrown or launched.
9. 'lebanese security officials" AKA hezbullah
arie ,   Afula   (08.04.06)
10. So sayeth hezbllah
Jason   (08.04.06)
11. When will the Israeli government impose military censorship?
sk ,   USA   (08.04.06)
You know, I don't expect the leftist press in Israel to be fair and balanced, but I do expect, somehow, that the Israeli government would at least insist that the press during war time (yes, I know that the clown Mazuz says there is no war) must attempt to get government responses to assertions coming from the enemy. Is this too much to ask?
12. They keep trying to hide behind civilians' deaths.
Evgeniy ,   NYC   (08.04.06)
No one can proof what Lebanese government say, no one wants to, especially Lebanese gov. itself. Quite opposite, it seems that Lebanese gov. wish as much people die as possible. They wish leftovers of their colleagues by parliament will be saved from total annihilation. In other words they very much want hizbollah to survive.
13. "lebanese security officials" reported this
david ,   miami usa   (08.04.06)
let me get this straight: 1. southern lebanon is controlled by hezbolah, not the lebanese army. they say hezbollah will not let them in. 2. now, this article says that "lebanese security officials" report this. that leads to the conclusion that these "lebanese security officials" ARE hezbollah. so why does ynet publish pure hezbollah propaganda?
14. innocent civillians.
g.man ,   manchester u.k.   (08.04.06)
The death of innocent civillians is tragic. The government of Lebanon is to blame, for all such deaths by allowing a terrorist group to operate from their country to attack civillians in another county.Israel must defend itself. And it best defence is to destroy hizbulla.
15. Why do they hate us !!
Thameen Darby ,   Jerusalem Palestine   (08.04.06)
Many Israelis have been asking; Why do those people across the boarder hate us ! Well, this is one of the reasons. (NB this also applied to the Americans as well who supplied the IDF with those bombs)
16. the truth will come out hopefully sooner rather than later
michael ,   tel aviv & london   (08.04.06)
the IAF has better things to do than looking for villages filled with harmless citizens to bomb. http://eureferendum.blogspot.com/2006/07/who-is-this-man.html can we expect the above again ?
17. Farm workers
ros ,   London   (08.04.06)
I wonder whether these 'peaches' and 'pears' had Iranian tags on them! Again it's 'farm workers' - what proof is there that they were?
18. Kill More...score more
Jacob   (08.04.06)
This war seems like a nintendo game. Kill more score more. Israel is commiting war crimes. Shame on you Israel. You will never get peace. Farmers, citizens...1000 dead in 24 days, what Israel is trying to do? trying to go into guiness book. 1000 dead and you call this collateral damage...great mentality....
19. ''LEBANESES SAY''...IS YNET THE VOICE OF HIZBALLAH ?!
(08.04.06)
20. DOZENS
Ben Hur ,   Manhattan, USA   (08.04.06)

23. # 5 Tariq , Beirut (08.04.06)
Ben Hur ,   Manhattan, USA   (08.04.06)
I don't understand how you can email a Talkback, I mean, with all the wanton widespread intentional disproportionate unimagineable destruction caused be the massive indiscriminate genocidal Nakba Holocaust (if it really happened) carpet bombing of Lebanon and Beirut.
24. Never learn
stan ,   USA   (08.04.06)
I don't know whether the reports are true or not, but at this stage of the game, there is no reason to re-print what Lebanese sources say verbatim, and assume it is true. I am amazed at just how naive the press is, or maybe the story is too juicy, so they make it true no matter what . Stan
25. Israel: Serbia w/ Nukes.
Kevo ,   Miami, USA   (08.04.06)
See you in the docket Mr. Olmert and Mr. Peretz.
26.  coward army
moe ,   montreal, Canada   (08.04.06)
the so called IDF always try to hide their constant battle lose by attacking civilians over and over again, this army has no moral or whatsoever, they are the real terrorists, what is terror after all, the ones who defend their own borders, or the ones who ask civilians to leave their homes and then they hunt them on roads. you people of Israel are sick, you can't have enough blood, and you wonder why people hate you.!!
27. good work
moe ,   montreal, Canada   (08.04.06)
Bravo IDF, it's one more victorious day in your history, after all what you can get is a baby and his mother, eldery people, but you feel so small and defeated against whoever stands up to fight you, this is your democracy Israel, the democracy which is gonna kill you.
28. IDF FAILURE GETTING IT MAD
Lebanese ,   Lebanon   (08.04.06)
after 24 days of fights none of the aims which olmert put before IDF wasn't done.not disarming Hizbollah, not pushing them back even 6km & not 30km as he said in the beginning, moreover in ground battles IDF is suffering big losings which spotted the image of this army in all the world, IDF can't deal with a group of terrorists as they consider Hizbollah, because of that IDF is doing mistakes one after another which is not for the sake of it
29. 57?
Rickmd03 ,   Baltimore, USA   (08.04.06)
How does our reporter know how many people where in the HOUSE before the "victims" are removed? Very crowded for a HOUSE. I've been in movie theaters that did not have 57 people in them. Is this a JONESTOWN situation where 57 decided to "Drink the Coolaid?" Or is the MORTICIAN at work again?
30. Tariq
Jane   (08.04.06)
Tariq, that there are less Israeli dead is not for lack of Hizbullah (read: Syria/Iran) trying. We do not celebrate the death of our enemies the way Muslims do. But it is your profound Jew-hatred that is bringing so much death upon your heads.
