Very well said. But, will it reach the ears of PM Olmert? And if it should, would he even listen to the voice of sanity?
2. Excellent article

Thanks for publishing this article. I'm glad that many Christians share the same point of view as Mr.Cox. My love and prayers for Israel.
3. Middle Ages
Nikos ,   Athens, Greece   (08.12.06)
Evangelists beleive that the second coming of Christ can is accompanied by creation of state of Israel, wars, deaths, pestilence, natural disaster. They believe that by provoking wars and stimulating violence the second coming of Christ can be hastened. Alernatively, opposing wars and suffering is delayin Christ's comming thus, is a work of devil. They are completely nuts. They are immoral perverts. I was unt quite believing that good people of America could fall for these mad ravings, sadly, it seem to be true, America is in the middle ages.
DR ,   Gwent, UK   (08.12.06)
"GOD SAYS WHAT HE MEANS" & "HE MEANS WHAT HE SAYS". It is no coincidence that the God of the Hebrew/Christian scriptures refers to Himself as the Lord God of Israel and the Holy One of Israel . The politicians and the secular world can scream and shout as much as they like. Yet again they will declare "peace, peace" when there is no "peace". As it is written;- "The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect" ......."The Lord foils the plans of the nations; He thwarts the purposes of the peoples, But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of His Heart through all generations.." (Psalm 33; 10-11; NKJV & NIV)....

Your profile didn't need to say that Earl is not a "learned theologian" That, and the fact that he is a moron, is obvious from what he writes.

12. Israel, we support you
Connie ,   VA, USA   (08.12.06)
A very good article. I hope to see more of these, to let the jewish people that we(evangelical christians) support them, whether they are orthodox, messianic etc. doesn't matter. So many times I cringe or frustrated by world leaders who want Israel to sacrifice without anything in return.
13. No Compromise
James ,   Toledo Oho USA   (08.12.06)
The evil of terrorism is the rod of correction for disobedience to Gods law. Israel, please learn this lesson from your friends here in the USA. Because of our compromises with sin, we are seeing the fruits of this evil in our nation and people. We have yet to fully realiize the consequences of permitting evil in our society on the national level and in our personal lives. It is recognizable as growing chaos at all levels. When the chastisement fully comes to America it will be from God for two reasons. First, to cause us as individuals to seek HIm and His Holiness in our lives. Second, to cause you Israel to seek His holiness and Jesus His Messiah. I know you as a nation do not believe that now...but the day will come when you will believe. One day the world will see the products you produce and export stamped and labeled plainly with the words "Holiness unto the Lord" and they will press you to help them know the Lord too. Your fight with evil at your borders is a consequence of not trusting and seeking God as a nation collectively. It begins with you the reader individually. Holiness unto the Lord!
STEVE ,   LONDON, ENGLAND   (08.12.06)
For sure your article will be received by many orthodox Christians as having been inspired by biblical literature but with respect you must accept that where the Word of GOD is concrerned there are conflicting definitions in this world. In the Middle-East particularly the so called Word of GOD is inspiration for much of the conflict of interests over the ancient Land of Israel. We do not want to confuse the ancient with the modern for to do so brings deatha nd destruction upon people. I know the Christian religion states that one must be proverbially 'born again' in order to inhabit the kingdom of GOD on Earth. That is to say 'born of the holy spirit'. I suggest that you must accept that international relations were invited to be born again in 1948 when the nation of Israel declared its national independence and the secular State of Israel was established. International relations have continued to challenge the legitimacy of the birth of Israel as a nation State because, apart from other fanatics, too many people have read too many definitions into the so called Word of GOD. I believe we all have one sovereign GOD but that we all have a different nativity and therefore a different heritage in religious identity and literature and therefore social psychology. Does GOD want people to continue to contradict each other ? No. So how does one find one's way out of the dichotomies that abound in the world over the role of holy scripture in culture and society? The answer was articulated in December 1948 in Articles 18 and 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: Article 18. Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance. Article 19. Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers. I suggest all the Christians in the world should throw their intellectual weight behind this Declaration and realise that this is also a definition of the Divine Will for mankind. It is a declaration that was inspired by World War Two and was written in the blood of the millions of people who lost their lives in that war. Before you go proclaiming the Word of GOD over the secular nation State of Israel you ought to refer to this particular uiversalism. Otherwise you are encouraging people to take a literal stand against people of other faiths that is too militant for Jews and Israelis to follow. We believe in One GOD world without end and the peace of GOD that passeth all understanding can be found in human rights not religious eschatologies that have much of their semantics in mythologies that have been tested in war many times. Peace on Earth comes from the love of harmony and not the love of pedantry over words that have obscure meaning for people of different ethnic origins. May the Lord bless you and keep you in peace always. AMEN
15. in reply to The article of Earl Cox
Elie Hakim ,   Paris, France   (08.12.06)
Book of DEUTERONOMY 3 - 14 - 23/27 Moses dialogue with his GOD: I then pleaded with Yahveh :" My Lord Yahveh, " I said, "now that you have begun to reveal your greatness and your power to your servant with works and mighty deeds no God in heaven or on earth can rival, may I not go acrooss and see......on that fine upland country and the Lebanon,? " But because of you Yahveh was angree with me and would not listen. "Enough!" He said, "Do not mention this subject again! climb to the top of Psigah, turn your eyes to the west, to the north, the south, the east. Look well for across this Jordan you shall not go!. The Book of HABAKKUK DIALOGUE BETWEEN THE PROPHET AND HIS GOD II: CURSES ON THE OPPRESSOR IV: Disaster to anyone who makes his neigbours drink, pouring out his pooison until they are drunk so that he can see them naked! You are full of shame, not glory! You turn now to drink and show your foreskin. the cup in Yahveh's right hand comes round to you, and disgrace will overshadow your glory. For the violence done to the Lebanon will overwhelm you and the massacre of animals will terrify you, because of the bloodshed and violence done to the country, to the city and to all who live in it.

Israel, formerly USA   (08.12.06)
US competition, alienation, capitalism, and bad diets are already destroying what have made Israel special. The least she can do is learn from American mistakes.

Well said author Earl Cox. It is our prayer that Ulmert will not go back and forth, but stand strong.
19. A reply to Earl Cox.
James ,   Glasgow, Scotland   (08.12.06)
It's nice to see someone hit the headlines with the truth of the matter. As long as there is a land called Israel it is God's land and none else but those chosen may have it. But it is more than a land, it is a symbol and type for greater things to come and they must come for God has ordained it just as Satan has ordained its demise. Yes, Islam and the whole apostate world may stand against it but in the end they will all fail. Why, because who can stand against Almighty God? Who but the deceived are blinded enough to try.
Real Zionist   (08.12.06)

21. This is a good one!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (08.12.06)
It doesn't look like the Almighty has had much success in solving the Middle East problem either. The good Earl Cox should note that the impossible we do immediately, miracles take a little longer and then you call in the IDF to take care of things properly. Kol HaKavod to Tzahal!
22. YNet, this is disgraceful!!!
Michael Steiner   (08.12.06)
How can you publish this kook's drivel?!? We are not fundamentalist Muslims who scream the name of their particular god in the course of fighting, oppressing and killing. We left these insane religious wars behind centuries ago. The State of Israel is fighting for its survival: a modern, democratic, SECULAR homeland of Jews. We thank you for your support, Mr. Cox, but we will not fight your religious wars for you.
23. Twaddle.
Dave ,   South Africa   (08.12.06)
'No nationality on the face of the earth can lay claim to the land of Israel, ......blah blah,,,,, gave it to the Jewish people through his covenant with Abraham. So if He gave it then surely it can be 'claimed'. 'God entrusted the land to Israel ' So which is it ?! He gave it to the jewish nation but entrusted it to Israel? Another charismatic fruitcake who belongs amongst the ranks of Pat Filthy-rich Robertson. The fact that many do not believe in the god who ' made this covenant' counts for nothing. What arrogance.

#3, when will you people figure it out? It is a matter of cause and effect. When Israel is attacked, they respond. I learned the principle of cause and effect in high school, maybe as early as in elementary or grade school. It is a simple formula for you to comprehend - Cause, Hizbullah arms just outside the border of Israel, Hizbullies attack by hucking these dam* rockets across the border...The effect - Israel decides to defend itself. Are you a bafoon? Completely stupid? Go back to school and learn about cause and effect. It is a scientific formula that has existed for hundreds of years.
25. #14 Man's word & God's word. The difference.
Jane ,   UK   (08.12.06)
With respect Steve's interpretation of God and the Scriptures is one that contradicts the Holy Bible on so many critical points. The God of the Bible, who calls Himself the Lord God of Israel and the God of Islam are not the same, irrespective of what Steve or anyone else declares. Neither can the 'peace of God' be found in manmade principles, only in His Son, who also chooses to describe Himself as the Lion of the tribe of Judah. The Bible from beginning to end is a commentary on God's redemptive purposes for mankind and cannot be selectively referred to for reasons of political expediency and tolerance towards other religions which serve another god and who are hostile to God's land and His people. It isn't a matter of God wanting 'people to contradict each other'. God's word is eternal and unchanging, as is His character and person. It is rather man who chooses to contradict God and camouflage his own agenda with religious euphemisms such as those within your commentary which demonstrates a willingness to place man's agenda above God's word and His will as outlined in His written word.
26. Anti aircraft mounted heli
5 min solutions   (08.12.06)
To keep the land of Israel, Israel must learn the art of killing its ememy fast. Do not provide what your ememy wanted that is the time to fight you. Go kill the Hiz in the fastest way possible. For a start IAF can mount it heli with anti aircraft gun to be use on Hiz ground position. Do not send 1 heli to 1 location, send in dozen and be done with in 5 mins and then move on.
27. Religious fanaticism
Nikos ,   Athens, Greece   (08.12.06)
This ideology makes The Holy Inquisition look tame in comparison. If these nucases get total power in US they will turn the rest of the wrold, except for Israel and UK, into Guantanamo Gulag. I will save this article at these talkbaks for my children to show them how stupid people were at the beginning of 21st century.

Maybe you'd like to be ruled by the ayatollahs, who are so open-minded and tolerant, and the sharia law, which guarantees you full rights as an individual, with stonings, hangings, executions of homosexuals and apostates, etc.
