31. Netanyahu
S. Fiely ,   St. Louis USA   (08.14.06)
This man makes so much sense and has for many years. I just don't understand why the Israeli people won't listen to him.
32. to 5

33. Missing the Whole
Art ,   Maryland, USA   (08.14.06)
The only reason H'balla and Hamas survive is the support of the population. If Isreal would treat these Countries as the offenders and declare war on them, destroy them, then the next time one of these terrorist factions start something, may the people of that country will suppress them in leiu of their own destruction. We have (and I assume the Isralies can get) radar that will pinpoint the source of a missle attack. When an attack happens, pinpoint the launch area and bomb everything for a radius of a kilometer back to the stone age. There is a price that those indiginous populations are not willing to pay. Art
34. natanyahu is a movie star
herodotus   (08.14.06)
not prime ministerial material.he has no depth.the conservatives in the uk woud say he has no bottom. no depth. he would however make a great government spokesman.or perhaps material for spielberg.
35. iSRAEL TO SURVIVE NEEDS TO ACT NOW
AVI ,   USA   (08.14.06)
ISRAEL TO SURVIVE NEEDS TO ACT NOW AND DESTROY IRAN ONCE AND FOR ALL, OTHERWISE WE MIGHT BE SURPRISED BY IRAN WHEN IT LOBES A NUKE INTO ISRAEL. IRAN IS AN ISLAMO-NAZI COUNTRY AND IT MUST BE DESTROYED FOR THE GOOD OF ARABS AND JEWS. WE MUST DESTROY IRAN NOW!!
36. ===We need someone with balls : GO TSIPPI ==
Alex ,   USA   (08.14.06)
There is old proverb: Better woman with the balls than a man without ones...:)

39. To so-called World Citizen
Andy Gill ,   London UK   (08.14.06)
The Palestinians did not own the land of Israel, it was a province of the Turkish empire, not a soveriegn country. You just can't grasp the glory of the fact that after 2000 years, a dispossed people with nothing but their bare hands, created a wonderful country, and defended it against the combined armies of the Arab world. Do you seriously think Israel's days are numbered? Then you don't know Israel pal, and you don't know the Israelis. Your absurd snivelling is laughable.
40. World Citizen = Palestinian Refugee
Devoted Follower ,   Perth, Australia   (08.14.06)
Oh well said sir, brave Bibi the warmonger, what a handsome recommendation. But why not inform us of all your brave deeds instead, O man without a country. How many of your children have you lobbed into Israel like little hand grenades? Thank you so very much for informing me that I am acting like a kook. Your opinion means so much to me that I will immediately abandon the religion of my ancestors and become your follower. We can worship some giant stone in Mecca, and throw rocks at the IDF, and stab Italian hippies in the back when they come to help us. Oh, we will have ever so much fun. My word, what a civilised bunch we will be. My wife will be ever so pleased when I dress her up like a beekeeper, and bring another three wives home, and then beat them all for driving the car. Thank you world citizen, you are prince among the refugees.
41. land for peace??
rich crater ,   greenville mi usa   (08.14.06)
no peace is wanted by your enemy; only to destroy; God said keep the land; they want land to attack from
42. WAR AND DEFEAT
rob ,   usa   (08.14.06)
ARABS CLAIM VICTORY IN EVERY WAR NO MATTER WHAT SO THAT PART IS IRRELEVANT. WHAT IS RELEVANT IS THAT OLMERT WORRIES MORE ABOUT PLACATING THE WORLD THEN DEFEATING THE ENEMY. IF ISRAEL DOES NOT REMOVE OLMERT FROM POWER THEN THEY WILL GET WHAT THEY DESERVE...DEFEAT
43. #17 World Citizen, aka San Fran Freeko
Tim ,   Tucson, AZ, USA   (08.14.06)
Dear (strike that) Contemptuous World Citizen, Do not pretend to speek for me! Answer this question, if you have the pair to do so in front of your subjects. Why is it that when Islamo-facist get angry and carry on like toddlers in their lethal fits that we are somehow supposed to empathize and understand their rage. Why are we, the rest of the world, supposed to understand how we caused their blood thirsty expressions? What will happen when the rest of the (real) world stops being merciful to their cause and tires of their tyrannical tantrums? Finnaly, oh one who speaks for el mundo, does Israel have a right to exist? Answer these questions lest the world sees you as a lover of decievers and a pawn of your own vanity. To you, Pol-Pot is a model citizen. To Israel, the beloved, a quote "Be angry and sin not" -G-d
44. Bibi truly understands the situation He is the best we have
Shalom Freedman ,   Jerusalem   (08.14.06)
Former Prime Minister Netanyahu understands our security situation better than any other political leader. His pointing to Iran as the greatest danger we now face is correct. His argument against unilateral withdrawal is unassailable. I am thinking what so many others are thinking, that he should be our Prime Minister now.
45. Islamic Idea of victory
Bill McIntyre ,   Chicago, USA   (08.14.06)
Only Muslims would consider not being TOTALLY annihiliated a major victory. "Let's see: we lost 10,000 terrorist brethren, caused Lebanon to absorb hundreds of millions of dolars in damages, it was proven that we are funded by the terrorist state Iran and if we so much as look at the Israeli border we will incur their wrath yet again. WHAT A GLORIOUS DAY!"
46. to hell with lebanon
terry ,   memphis,tn   (08.14.06)
Everyone knows the root of evil in the middle east is IRAN.... untill Iran is delt with you can expect no peace in the Middle East. Israel needs to cut off the head of the snake and quit "dicking around" with Lebanon.
47. re: politicians and leaders
dan ,   highland park   (08.14.06)
Yes Larry I like your point. I am not Jewish, but I am one who totally supports Israel. I don't believe Israel is perfect. No human culture is perfect, but they are not deserving of what has happened. In my opinion the government failed Israel. Iran will continue its proxy war until it is enboldened enough to do what it really wishes. Iran will not stop. They want to be major players and shapers of the MIddle East. They want to say "we were the ones to defeat Israel"
48. Defeat
Ken USA ,   N.Y.,USA   (08.14.06)
I think this is a defeat for Israel and the U.S. Hez tried to take on Israel, didn't have good enough rockets yet and sued for peace. What will happen now? Hez will now use this time to upgrade it's capabilities and attack Israel again when it has better rockets. Victory- Hez and terrorist. Europe duped yet again.
49. #28 Your history is almost right....
Gus ,   Los Angeles, USA   (08.14.06)
Germany nor any other axis power did not control Palestine during World War 2, that would be interesting if they did, considering the Aliyah of immigrant Jews migrating into the region at large numbers. The British held onto to effective control of the region until after the war. The ethnic division did not happen after World War 2, but actually in 1919 - 1922 with the mandates given over conquered Ottoman and German lands in the middle east. The Balfour declaration after World War I designated a home for the Jews in partitioned Palestine. But after World War 2 with British administration ineffective (and tiring of being a traget for jewish "freedom fighters"), the Brits gave the matter to the new U.N. which set about a partition but was foiled when the Jews went ahead and conquered additional land on their own that was beyond the partition borders and declared independence. Secretary of State Marshall was against recognition and warned Eisenhower that granting recognition to Israel in its present state would bring over 50 years of war to the region. Interesting facts that somehow are forgotten in the present day.
50. I'm pissed at you Israel
David ,   USA   (08.14.06)
When are you going to get up on your feet and DO SOMETHING???!!!!! It is up to YOU to put these Assholes in the ground. Not us. You take care of Lebanon and Syria. Then if Iran comes after you we will vaporize them. Thus we will put away the evil from among us. GET R DONE!!!
51. To World Citizen Mumbo Jumbo
Patte ,   USA   (08.14.06)
Netanyahu would be the best thing that could happen to Israel and Bush will go down in history as one of the greatest US/World Leader that there ever was. YOU on the other hand, if you live long enough, will live to eat your words when the Hisbollah's of this world come after you! Shut up and use your brain!!!
52. #7 H, Jerusalem
Sanda ,   Germany   (08.14.06)
Israel has no other choice than to give the occupied territories back. Either peacefully other by force. Either you accept israel within the 1967 boundaries or sooner or later there will be no israel at all. Your military superiority is not eternal. The world changes and you have to undestand that only A NEGOCIATED PEACE will give Israel security. End the inhumane Occupation, give the Golan-H. and he Shebaa Farms back, allow the Pals to have a state of their own in Gaza, Westbank and East-Jerusalem.
53. Wye?
Elchanan ,   NYC   (08.14.06)
Bibi Wye do even open your mouth? Olmert & Perertz maybe idiots, but what make you think your any better.
54. This was Israel's 9/11
ARIE ,   CORAL SPRINGS, FL.   (08.14.06)
Its the time for Olmert and his cabinet to go on a long vacation. The damage is done, let somebody else to fix it. We can't trust you, you failed.
55. #20 - go tsippi
dan kaplan ,   usa   (08.14.06)

56. israel
jason usa ,   USA   (08.14.06)
Iran must be destroyed now to save the world !!! The sooner the better....
57. #49 Gus..your history was almost right
Samaritan ,   Orlando Florida   (08.14.06)
Gus you are close on your history...but it was not Eisenhower that held the power to recognize Israel...it was Truman..close but no cigar. Samaritan
58. Bibi know the way
Evan ,   Boyd   (08.14.06)
Netanyahu understand what war is about and how to wage it. Because of this and his willingness to talk about it and act upon his beliefs he does not seem to earn the favor of the Jewish people, who for some strange reason tend to run to a pacifistic approach to life. I term this a suicidal approach, the bullies of the world term it a time to abuse and kill as they have down through the centuries. Israel still exist today because in the past they have demonstrated a will to survive and have placed leaders into positions of power such as Bibi who know what the job is and how to get it done effectively. That in my opinion is not the case today. Israel has been handed a wake up call as the article indicates. They have been given two maps, one of life and one of death. They have a choice, follow Olmert’s ways and death will be the end product, follow Bibi and it is life and success in the way of life. Weakness will gain you nothing Israel except more bodies to bury. Israel, stand up, be proud, fight and kill those who would do you harm. Make excuses, put it off and you will in the end, die. Evan USA
59. BIBI
steven ,   usa   (08.14.06)
If this war told Israel anything-its that it is not time for a civialian govenment. At this time Israel must have generals in charge. People who are bold--willing to take chances. People that are not worried about world opinion---only the survival of Jews and the Jewish State.
60. Mr. Netanyahu
Iris Saunders ,   Reedville, Va, USA   (08.14.06)
I'm not a Jew but I do care for the Jews and their country. Oh how I wish they had been smart enough to have elected Mr. Netanyahu their Prime Minister again. Hopefully they will see the light and elect a man who understands why Israel must win!
