Who is lying Peretz and Olmert or Nasrallah? Also, Nasser never beat Israel. Nasrallah did so twice. Also, I'm sure he will come back to teh political surface very soon. Anyone who watches Lebanese politics knows that Nasrallah is on tv, in meetings, parades and gatherings all the time. This is even though Israel has tried to assassinate him countless times.
63. Totally agree #58, but.....
Jewish American ,   USA   (08.15.06)
I do agree with everything you said, he is a Pyrrihic Victor, but I think these Hezbollah members are sadly to brainwashed to realize what he has done to them. I would love to see him hung as much as you would, but unfortunatly, I do not think the Lebanese will bring him to justice like they should as he is the real war criminal.

Alfred - About a month ago Hizbollah attacked Israel. Around 80 rockets were sent across the international border. Isaeli soldiers were ambushed in Israel, eight were killed and two wounded soldiers were taken hostage back across the border. An act of war. Israel responded and has killed a lot of Hizbollah terrorists - around 550 was the last quote; caused billions of dollars of long-term damage to Hizbollah's "state within a state" including its war machinery and thousands of weapons. Masses of valuable new intelligence has been gathered by the IDF about Hizbollah and its evil masters Iran. Hizbollah has taken a massive beating and Israel and Lebanon have won. The Lebanese - those that really care about their country - now have a brief window of opportunity to get their country and their lives together - and not be cannon fodder and mindless followers of the dictatorships of Syria and Iran. Why on earth should you be vassals of those miserable, backward regimes? Explain? Alfred - encourage your elected Prime Minister to wipe his eyes and then unite behind him. Just maybe you and the rest of your folks can actually start to get your own country together. Get some real Law & Order. Get real and get your lives back from the edge of the black pit that you are hovering over. Since you are a Christian make a prayer. Be thankful that the Israeli government restrained itself. Be thankful that you are alive and that you still have a chance to get on with your lives. Don't waste your energies thinking bad thoughts about us over the border. If you know your Bible you know why we are here, and if you know your history you know what we can do if "push comes to shove", so don't push!. Say a prayer for Lebanon and get out there and fight for peace in your country - you never know you might yet die a happy soul.

Well John I don't agree with you. Nobody elected Nasrallah to lead Lebanon and to effectively declare war from Lebanon on to Israel. That seems arrogant to me. He was financed and armed by an outside country - Iran. The amounts involved were huge - billions of dollars, He spent years building up for this war and the result for him is a big fat zero, and for Lebanon much worse!. You mentioned that some Lebanese were watching and some were cheering the IDF on. Well it seems to me that they had the right idea. Presumably they wanted to get rid of Nasrallah and get the Lebanese government to start governing. Now I happen to think our government has done quite well. I reckon Nasrallah took a chance and didn't think the new Israeli government would respond to his act of war, but it did. That's why I think he has really lost "big time" and why Iran is so absolutely furious. Iranian war plans are messed up for the moment and huge quantities of sophisticated arms have been destroyed etc. Now you have a chance to get your country back and if I was you I'd grab it. Forget about Nasrallah he'll lead you up the garden path. You've probably wasted enough of your life on him and you could find much more constructive things to do.

Christian ,   US of A   (08.15.06)
Jeremiah 23 The Righteous Branch 1. "Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of my pasture!" declares the LORD. 2 .Therefore this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says to the shepherds who tend my people: "Because you have scattered my flock and driven them away and have not bestowed care on them, I will bestow punishment on you for the evil you have done," declares the LORD. 3. "I myself will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and will bring them back to their pasture, where they will be fruitful and increase in number. 4. I will place shepherds over them who will tend them, and they will no longer be afraid or terrified, nor will any be missing," declares the LORD. 5. "The days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I will raise up to David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land. 6. In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which he will be called: The LORD Our Righteousness.

you are very very smart my friend, amazing. Of course they are being funded by Iran. Just like Israel is being funded by the US. Lets see how much Israel can go without the annnual billions the US provides and all those freebies the IDF gets. Before you write something about Israels '"enemies", wipe those crocodile tears and look at what Israel is doing. Hypocrites!
70. So what?
Yaz ,   Amman, Jordan   (08.15.06)
Do you really believe killing this one man will help you? You make it sound like he singlehandedly destroyed all those tanks and fired the rockets. Another one will take his place, and the only thing you will achieve is increase their hatred for you. Hizbullah are a group of able men who believe in a just cause, they liberated their country, they WILL free the prisoners, and no amount of Israels signature massacres and mass destruction will break them.
