1. Where do I sign up to volunteer?
Aaron ,   OZ   (08.24.06)
I have several years of valuable military service in Oz, and would be interested, especially as it appears that this is going to get very nasty.
2. so they are threathening us....
david ,   Israel   (08.24.06)
so they are threathening us.... give us the Golan or have a war.
3. Don´t give your water! Take your water!
schulz ,   bad germany   (08.24.06)
Please without water not life! Where are the borders at thora??? I don´t understand anything, but life is possible with water. Texas has a very small basis at water. They must buy water at shops! Oil have they enough, but water are not enough!
4. Syria wants diplomacy
Mark ,   USA   (08.24.06)
Syria said problems must be resolved by diplomacy and not war. That was the Syrian position. They were furious with Israel for choosing the military option. Now they want to choose the military option.
5. DEPENDING ON ISRAEL'S LEADERSHIP SYRIA MAY JUST GET IT BACK
DAVID P. ,   SANTA CRUZ, CA   (08.24.06)
just give it all away, and maybe you could box us into an even more impossible position......get it clear....NO LAND FOR PEACE........it may have briefly worked with Egypt, but today look at the Sinai, its an Al Qaida hot bed. Giving the Golan to Syria would be the same as giving it to Iran, they already sit on our heads in Lebanon, do we need them on our shoulders as well? Time to prepare for a new chapter in Israels struggle for existence, you teased us with peace in the 1990's and now we must regroup, focus and harden ourselves, if we don't we'll loose everything.
6. land belong to Syria.
moe ,   montreal, Qc   (08.24.06)
so, how israel think peace is made off exactly? Israel attacked Syria and took the Golan heights, but this doesn't make the land belong to Israel, forget about the UN resolution 242, if Israel doesn't give back the whole land to Syria, not just parts of it, they shouldn't expect peace at all, mayb in times they think they shouldn't give back, especially when they are in their strong periods. but everyone knows that no nation can stay strong forever, and at one point this thing will turn against Israel in a very bad way. To prevent surprises from happening in the future, lots of issues has to be resolved, and Syrian and lebanese land is one of it, not to mention the complicated issues regarding the rights of the palastinians.. if you mean peace, talk and work for it, otherwise, don't be surprised.
7. Sure Aaron, It'll Be Great Watching You Become a POW 4 Ever
Wanda Segal ,   San Angelo   (08.24.06)
Have fun in Syrian jails sport. Oh ya, and don't drop that soap.

(08.24.06)
10. The Day That Happens We'll Be Eating Felafel In Damascus
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (08.24.06)
Kosher felafel- while liberating the remaining Jews who suffer under Assad's rule. Syria has no patron to save them today (as they did with the USSR).
11. Result of Syria vs. Israel war
vit ,   usa   (08.24.06)
Although Syria can inflict damage on Israel (mostly through rockets), the damage that Israel would inflict on Syria would be MUCH GREATER. Also, if TOTAL WAR ever breaks out between Syria and Israel, Syria's price would be unimaginable. Syria would become like Afghanistan, while Israel would take moderate damage and recover. What these clowns don't understand is that the damage that Israel can inflict on Syria can also be PERMANENT! (you can read between the lines on that one) JUST THE FACTS JACK! (if you don't like the facts...keep reading the Koran)
12. GOLAN HEIGHTS BELONG TO ISRAEL FOREVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AVINU   (08.24.06)

Yes, Syria does....Iran.
14. Build more nuclear weapons systems
(08.24.06)
Destroy their population.
15. Peace or war? and Kosher felafel in Damascus and oppressed J
Arab   (08.24.06)
What all of you don’t understand is that while you (we now, I guess) are sinking in a useless rhetoric (especially the US fat asses here), some very few on BOTH sides of this conflict are cashing in big bucks from this situation. Yes lots of $$$. For those who think that Jews are oppressed in Syria, I know a Syrian Jewish businessman, he left to the US, got his US papers, but decided that Syria was his home so he returned and he is doing very very well. So the point is, if the Jews are oppressed in Syria, they are not more oppressed than any other community. To those who think that they will eat Kocher falafel in Damascus, think twice - you are most welcome to eat Kocher falafel in Damascus as long as you pay for it - but the IDF is not going to get you there and we all know from recent history that besides bombing from the air with US supplied war planes and weapons (PAID by the US Tax Payers - I keep asking myself how can they waist there money like that?!) the Israeli army has its limits. In fact, today the Israeli army reassembles to some Arab countries armies designed to oppress their own population (the Palestinians in the case of the IDF), so are you surprised that Israel lost the war? The fact is that the IDF will not win any offensive war in the future and the Syrians know it. So yes, some in your government think that it’s the right time for peace and some others think that its time for the big $$$.
16. Big mushroom cloud 13# that's Iran's future.
(08.24.06)
17. Syria
Dan   (08.24.06)
Syria are full of talk. They wont start anything directly...would just use proxies, such as Hizbullah to do something. As they say "all roads lead to Damasus". They need to be punished for their aggression. Their airforce could be taken out in 10 minutes. They want a war? Then let them have a war. Set their country back 20 years like we did in lebanon. Assad - we are coming for you! (as soon as Olmert takes his fingers out)
18. why aren't you bombing him?
(08.24.06)
19. diplomacy now!
avramele   (08.24.06)
How many more poorly thought out wars before we learn that military might must be balanced with a smart diplomatic/negotiating strategy? war must position us for peace..not the trap of an empire built on sand. oy lanu!
20. When they stop
Israel   (08.24.06)
When they stop provide missiles to the Hizballah then we can talk peace.
21.  Iran using Syria as giant weapons cache for Hizbullah
Yael ,   Rosh Pina   (08.24.06)
So why then did Bush take the hand of France (whom 'he knew' he couldn't trust) and co-author the impotent Cease Fire Resolution? Tell me then why at a time when Israel needs real friends more then ever do I hear silence from our supposed friends on the above mentioned? Why does no one care to talk about why Bush took the hand of France whom he knew he could not trust and co-author this impotent cease fire resolution? Why in the name of G-d did he pull the plug on this war??? Why did he pull the plug on a war with the proxy of Iran, thus in the most surprising way SAVING HEZBOLLAH/IRAN and of course Syria? I am waiting for my conservative counterparts in the US to stand up and not be afraid to speak out on this matter. I must say your silence nauseates me and disturbs me greatly. I hear you speak so eloquently on the war on terror but on this matter you are silent! I hear you with all your supposed knowledge knock Israel for this mismanagement of our war however you say nothing about Bush and his cease fire. Nothing. Cowards! You who are silent will be as disturbed down the road with your silence as those who came out disturbed decades later by the silence as the Shoah gained steam. final thoughts........thank goodness Israel flubbed up. Nice the ultra biased media took our attentions away from the real fight, nice Iran knew just how to divert the worlds attention. Nice to be able to divert attention from the things we really need to be taking action on. The street wins every time for our friends and our enemies both. I congratulate Iran and their proxies Hezbollah and Syria. You duped the greatest country in the world, the US and in turn the US duped Israel. Good going!!

History will repeat it self meaning that israel will be demolished to rubble as it has in its past history for violating all the commandments of God and the worship of Baal the bull and talmud. There will be no peace for people who have stolen the land of others and violated God commandments!!!

Reading the Koran is still better than reading the Thora. ain't that right?
24. #3 WHAT?
67cj5 ,   USA   (08.24.06)
What the hell are you trying to say?? Texas has no water? Are all the Texans going to die of dehydration? If so this is catastrophic! Thank goodness you informed us in time!! We here in New Mexico had no idea this was going on. We will make sure the Pecos and Rio Grande rivers are flowing at maximum capacity!! If it saves just one life it is worth it!!!!!! I sure hope the oil money holds out for those poor Texans until we can help. It must cost a fortune to buy enough water at shops to irrigate those massive West Texas farms.
25. #6 Land didnt belong to Syria since they lost it in war
RA   (08.24.06)
A war they started might I add
26. Pre-emptive strike?
RA   (08.24.06)
Didnt we learn anything from history. If signs show Syria will attack, then they WILL ATTACK! We need a pre-emptive strike yet again to take out their conventional military capabilities.

Craig ,   USA   (08.24.06)
You are wrong mate...thousands of years ago Scripture predicted the gathering of the Jews back to their homeland, never to be scattered again. Much of Israel may indeed have fallen into various sins offensive to God and angered Him by attempting to surrender His land to their enemies...but God always preserves a faithful remnant. The land of which you speak is God's, and he has granted it to Israel. Anyone who occupied parts of it previously were merely squatters. Eventually, after much more tribulation (unfortunately), Israel will acknowledge their sin, repent, return to their God, and He will deliver them from their enemies. You better open a Bible, read a little, and decide whose side you want to be on.
28. More Land?
Rick ,   USA   (08.24.06)
Bibi wrote in his book that the ratio of Arab land to Israel is 500:1 Gee, I can understand why the Arabs think Israel has too much land. This land-for-peace argument is a ruse on the part of the Arabs. They won't be happy until all Israelis are removed from the face of the earth.

is your life so sad? why do you want to die now? the lebanon movie wasn't a sign for all of you? stop dreaming we are not in a hollywood film return them back their land
30. #6 Oh Moe, get a clue
Jewish American ,   USA   (08.24.06)
Remember 2000, when Israel withdrew from Lebannon and removed THIER OWN SETTLERS from the Gaza Strip? Probably not, you probably watch to much al-Jazzeera or something like that. Prior to Israel's taking of the Golans, Syria used it as a launching platform for mortar attacks onto near by Kibutzim, so it was captured to protect Israel, in a war Syria began. Land is not as big of an issue as that Arabs are making it out to be, its more of an "excuse" to attack Israel then run behind thier women and children like cowards. The real issue is eliminating this hezbollah "mini-state" in south Lebannon, expelling Syrian influence from Lebannon (remember Hariri's assasination?), and getting the Palistinean terror organizations under control. And of course disarming hezbollah and hamas's military wing and so forth. Whenever land has been traded for peace, peace was never delivered, only more terror from the same freaks.
