I thought the article had a positive tone. I would like to see more articles that describe multi-religious dialogue and cooperation. To see this may remind me, and other Ynet readers from across the political spectrum, that mutual tolerance is possibe. Commonality of shared human values is possible.
2. Unbelievable! Hassan truly a mensch?

It's good that the prince mentioend the fact of the Arab countries stealing money to build armies that cannot defeat Israel (Egypt in the past, Syria, Iraq and Jordan in the past) What is much more concerning is the action of other Arab nations (Egypt now, Saudi Arabia and others) that right now are spending their people's money on arm that they will enver use except against their own people.
7. Prince Hassan - A great man!

BORUCH N. HOFFINGER ,   BROOKLYN NY   (08.28.06)
B"H I fault the European Union and the U.S.A. for not funneling in more money to the P.A., etc. (I bet this woke you up!) After all, did the governments work for it? So why should they REALLY care what happens to it? Hey guys, get a large group of men, make up a cause (real-false) , get some weapons (fake are OK) and you'll be swamped with gelt. Life's a theatre. The best actors win.
10. Indeed , he is , a great man!
Ibrahim ,   US   (08.28.06)
The feeling of respect and admiration resonates through out Jordan and the Arab world, especially among the highly educated and intellectual elite. Also his statement about money stolen from the Arab nations in building arsenals of war are repeated on Arab TV every day , I think he speaks the truth and most Arabs agree with him At least this Arab Peace.
11. # 7 I agree, I would invite him to dinner!
Right Winger ,   NY   (08.28.06)
12. Well Put
Ryan ,   Calgary, Canada   (08.28.06)
I would like to see arab leader reaction to this. I see people like this being the only means of peace. A guy like this needs to be in charge and the people (arabs) need to stand up and have a revolution so they can put people like this in charge of there governments. We can not do this for them, they need to do it themselves, there current leaders only sacrifice there civilian lives for there own means,
13. Wow 2 Self Critisizing Arabs in a Week!!
Jewish American ,   USA   (08.28.06)
I have to say that I am impressed to see the Arabs beginning to look towards themselves for the reason why they are where they are today. The corruption, war-mongering, the hate, it all needs to stop in the mid east. Finally arabs are looking in the mirror.
14. Religions for Peace
one   (08.28.06)
We did not know he is religious....and peaceful !
15. He would not do it ??
(08.28.06)
If he became the king ?? ... his brother , father and his grandfathers are the most who cheated the Arabs .... his grand grand father he was was the one who sold the Palistinians to the Jewish .... better he shut his mouth
16. Wow, an Arab That Actually Speaks the Truth
david ,   philly   (08.29.06)
...about why poverty exists among Palestinian-Arabs and their brethren abroad, and one who actually forgoes the scapegoating of Israel that is the mainstay of Arab political rhetoric!!! In other words, one that acts like a human being! Wow!
17. this must be a hoax pt. 2

18. Voice of reason
Natan ,   USA   (08.29.06)
I hope that this is the beginning of a positive action in the Arab world... We need more like this
19. Smart Prince Hassan
John ,   NZ   (08.29.06)
Iranian leaders used Iranian taxpayers money to fund terror and build WMD. Anyone who disagree, will be hang up in a crane in a public place. They terrorise their own ppl. for support and use money to buy support in Lebanon. I hope ppl. power prevail in Iran like in Romania and the Phillipines.
20. Jordan's Prince Hassan
ray ,   manchester USA   (08.29.06)
This man of great character has always displayed courage and humanity. This is the kind of leader the Arabs always needed. A real man of stature...The world media never does him credit. God protect him from the fanatics.
21. main stream media
scott ,   elkridge usa   (08.29.06)
unfortunately this positive story will never get out because so called main stream media outlets would rather keep the world focused on negativety and blame israel for all the problems
22. true leader
(08.29.06)
He has the ba--s to stand up to the other Arab leaders. He is showing true leadership and is making his country proud, just as Prince Hussain did. Money should go for health programs, cloth the poor and education, not for trying to destroy another country (Israel) which seems to be the main object and goal of many Arab countries and terror organizations.
23. 6 And Chris add Hizbullah, Hamass
freedom ,   canada   (08.29.06)
and Iran as well. Who spend money to keep their own interests intact and spend money on weapons that bring destruction upon those that have no interest and even a hatred of them.
24. well # 15 At least he didnt steal billions
freedom ,   canada   (08.29.06)
like Yasser Arafat is reported to have done. Self criticism can be very constructive when done properly. What is the arab world going to do when the oil is gone.
25. The author's categories
Mike ,   Atlanta, USA   (08.29.06)
"Representatives from countries like Israel, Iran, Iraq, Sudan and North Korea are taking part in the event." The axis of evil and genocide. Of course Israel must get a mention with this bunch. Nice editorial in there.
26. I AM A GENIUS
DACON9   (08.29.06)
I HAVE BEEN SAYING THIS IN ALL THE ISLAM CHAT ROOMS FOR 2 MONTHS NOW. THE ARABS WILL DIE BEFORE THEY ACCEPT THAT THEIR LEADERS SHIEKS MULLAHS AND KINGS DECEIEVED THEM. I TELL THEM THAT THE MULLAHS WANT THE ARABS WAILD AND CRAZY SO THE CIV8ILAINS WILL NOT SEE THE LEADERS STEALING THEIR MONEY.. TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS OF OIL MONEY.. WHEERE IS IT? THE PEOPLE DONT HAVE IT..JUST THE MULLAHS SHIEKS AND KINGS OWNING UP TO 20 PALALCES AND MERCEDS AND CLOTHS SEWN OF GOLD THREADS.
27. THE TRUTH IS OUT
(08.29.06)
28. God bless the arab peoples... we greatly mourn for you
Christian ,   USA   (08.29.06)
This man had to speak partial truth because Iran threatens caliphate monarchy existence too. Arab leaders' plundering of their people is why they instigate and teach hate against Israel and the West. So the people won't see their leaders (government, media and clerical working together) have been their absolute worst generational murderers, plunderers, oppressors and occupiers... The arab peoples oil wealth is far too vast for any arab to live in poverty and ignorance. Much less, murder themselves for the ideology their leaders promote. Their leaders and leaders' children LIVE LIFE in safety, comfort, laughter and opulence with BILLIONS in the bank. These governmental and clerical leaders have horribly enslaved and raped their own while blaming the Jews and West least their wickedness be revealed and their people RISE UP in violent protest outing them from the wealth and power they so love. The worst offenders are: Egypt, Saudi, Libya, Syria, Iran (and formerly Iraq). Therefore, they are the greatest supporters, instigators and exporters of generational terrorism. Arab leaders do not send their kids to Shaid-Martyr school; they send them to HARVARD UNIVERSITY, USA to those they accuse as “infidels”. As it is now, peoples and countries of the world are uniting against terrorist ideology promoted by your leaders. The average arab will pay the price in losing the lives and families, as occurred in Lebanon and Gaza after terrorist instigation, while those same leaders HIDE themselves and FAMILIES in bunkers and LIVE. (Arafat’s wife lives in France on BILLIONS!) Their daughter will go to the FINEST PREP schools NEVER Shaid school! Rise up arabs. You've been tragically lied to. Know your true oppressors! Democracy is attacked by terrorists because it is the #1 government style which allows THE PEOPLE not the leaders to choose who rules your WEALTH. God have mercy on the arab peoples as these atrociously ugly and painful truths come to light.
29. Iran's sucess threatens his caliphate existence too
(08.29.06)
30. 7. Great man, no. He wants to survive Iran. He is the caliph
(08.29.06)
Many arab families started as peasant camel jockies. When oil was discovered they suddenly became fabulously wealthy royalty to the exclusion of the arab peoples... In order to preserve themselves, they fomented hate against others throught the Koran and government least the people rise against and overthrow them for gross graft. Iran knows this and seeks to become a super world oil power comprising Iran and Iraq oil supplies. This would place them above Saudi's and any other in middle east power. Arab caliphates lose in this scenario. Thus, he foments the same type of hate against Iran (as if help was needed) that they have historically fomented against Israel and the west.
