He "slams" Israel for violating cease fire yet quietly and politely asks Hezbollah to return the 2 soldiers. He mentions nothing of disarming although it is cearly written in the cease fire as well. It is a tragedy that he has been allowed to remain in his position after it was revealed that he was involved in the oil-for food scandal. To let a greedy criminal be head of the so-called United Nations is a crime in itself.

Where's the disarmment? Where's the return of the soldiers? Where's the blocking of weapons being transported to Hizbollah? You seem to imply that Hizbullah represents the Lebanese. It is undisputable that they are Lebanese residents. Lebanon a (purportedly) sovereign country also agreed to UNSCR 1701. The way democracies and government work, that means that their citizens and residents INCLUDING ALL HIZBULLAH MEMBERS are also required to abide by it. Yet Hizbullah has not disarmed and, instead, continues to try and smuggle arms in (the reason the blockades are still in place, btw) which is also a part of the resolution. You have to choose: 1) Is Hizbullah not a part of Lebanon and therefore don't have to listen to the gov't? In that case, Israel should be able to attack them bc it wouldn't technically be an attack on Lebanon. 2) If Hizbullah is a part of Lebanon, then Lebanon as a whole is also violating 1701, and are actually violating a lot more clauses, in which case, you can feel free to get off your high horse.
