31. ya gotta be kidding me.
yehuda ,   holit, Israel   (10.01.06)
After all the things we have suffered as a nation at the hands of our enemies. After all the set backs we have suffered this year. Firstly you at ynet have the hubris to speak for us when during the last war the voice of the people was loudly heard. Yet both the media and the government did not heed us. Speak for yourselves. YOU do not speak for us. Jerks!
32. I would like to apologize to the people of Israel
Jenny ,   USA   (10.01.06)
for being an armchair general and constantly questioning your choices in leaders, etc even though I live in the USA. It's just that as a Jew I care very much about what happens to you people (my people). I may come off as arrogant or know it all-ish. It is only b/c I care. I wish I could move to Israel but with such a gov't and media I don't think I would ever fit in. At least in the US we have Fox News :) who I think are better Zionists than the likes of YNET or Haaretz. Chatima Tova to all my Jewish brothers and sisters.
33. I will apologize on YNET's behalf
Elle   (10.01.06)
For printing an excess of Jewish and Israel-bashing articles timed precisely for Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. For printing the articles of Ray Hanania, who is clearly anti-Israel and receives hundreds of negative talkbacks and complaints each week. For ignoring the plight of Sderot residents. We never hear their side of the story. For clearly supporting Olmert from before the elections through today. For publishing op-eds from people such as Shulamit Aloni and B. Michael but never from settlers.
34. How low can Ynet get?
israeli   (10.01.06)
Contemptible is all I can say for your list.
35. Apology to the media
Michael Lebovic ,   Toronto, Canada   (10.01.06)
If there is one institution in Israel (and there are plenty of others) that should beg forgivness of the Israeli public it is the media. For misleading the public for over a decade, for pushing their own agendas, for covering up that which they feel should not be criticized. Shame on you for still NOT owning up to your outrageous and destructive biases. You, the media is probably more responsible than anyone for leading israel into harms way over and over again. Now is the time to look at the damage you have caused and commit to stand up for a Jewish Israel and it's right to survive as such.
36. Apologies
Francois ,   Montreal, Canada   (10.01.06)
Ynet staff should apologize for supporting Olmert and all Kadima appeasers.
37. #32
Daveed ,   Israel   (10.01.06)
Jenny, You're not being fair to the Israeli press. Ha'aretz has an extremely low circulation, and in Hebrew Maariv serves as a nice balance to Yediot (Ynet). Also, the Jerusalem Post serves to balance Ha'aretz. In addition, there is Israel National News, and Channel 1 t.v. In other words, you may have valid reasons for not moving to Israel, but the media and government are not among them. Fox news is good, but even it didn't show the truth of the horrific damage Hizballah did to Israel during the war.
38. If only I could atone for Sharron and Olmert, I would.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Santa Monica,CA USA   (10.02.06)
39. drive by media(WHATEVER STICKS IS NEWS)
p HENRY ,   longmont U S A   (10.02.06)
WHAT A BUNCH OF SORRY ASS LOSERS! THAT'S WHY YOU ARE HELD IN SUCH LOW ESTEEM BY THE PUBLIC.RIGHT AFTER USE CAR SALESMEN AND AUTO MECHANICS COMES REPORTERS.REPORT THE NEWS,NOT MAKE IT!!!
40. Declare Martial Law
Dave Levi ,   Burbank. USA   (10.02.06)
As an American Jew, I have been horrified reading about Israeli policies and practices in the Israeli press. Since at least Oslo 1, virtually every governmental action designed to placate the Arab enemies (and believe you me, that is what they are), has been applauded. Every serious action to thwart Arab terror or violence, has been condemned in the "liberal" Israeli media. Israeli's papers are a joke, but more than that, a disgrace to patriotic Jews, both in and out of Israel. The press has too much freedom, especially during times of crisis. During WW2, our (US) media, was carefully watched for seditious acts, as well as reporting advantageous to the enemy. Israel's press, by reporting specifics, did more to kill Jews than Hezbollah. Israel's internal and external policies should be left to it's elected leaders, not a bunch of journalists who never lifted one paw to do anything accountable..and barely made it out of journalism school I would presume.
41. #5 I'm sick and tired
Bechor   (10.02.06)
I'm sick and tired of all these pathetic guilt games people like you try to play. Apologize to Lebanon? Why? Because we didn't sit back and let the missiles hit us? Because we didn't let innocent Jews be murdered by the likes of you? Israel had every right to respond in ANY way she saw fit. The Lebanese deserve no apology, they deserve to be scorned for abandoning their country.
42. Apology
Ericrock ,   New Delhi India   (10.02.06)
Apologising for one's sins is an excellent virtue. And Israelis as whole owe to others a lot of it.,and it has not been forthcoming. In the list of people or entities I find an important omision. The people America. I watched the entire speech of Olmert to the US Congress during his last visit. He was given sixteen standing ovations. SIXTEEN.For what. I did not hear even a single word of wisdom. It was all about crushing teerorists or peace as Israel sees it.You just ponder why that standing ovations. It was not because of any conviction on the part the Us law makers. They wre frightened.Israelis or their supporters have been, all these years , terrorising the Americans to toe their lines. So the Israelis owe the American People a full blown apology
43. Ynet - Add yourself to the list - do better this year!
(10.02.06)
44. YNet should apologize for arrogance
Scott ,   LA, CA, US   (10.02.06)
This article is clearly disguised arrogance. The media are part of society. They have no right to isolated themselves from it, or (as they invariably do) place themselves above it. Journalists are nacissists. It's in their nature. They are incapable of finding fault in themselves. Society needs a new fourth estate.
45. What I think
leonard ,   LA USA   (10.02.06)
What I think is your a liberal like most news meadia. Let people throw stones at you and blow up busses and say "Awww, we're sorry to be so mean to you. Come have some tea with us." And yes there are some stupid polititions like Avida Landau but here we have the New York times [news meadia] I read between the lines and get a vague picture. I do agree Israel do have some political problems and no real leaders.
46. This list makes me proud
Aaron ,   Douglas, MI USA   (10.02.06)
Few US news sites would have the courage to run this. Thank you YNET.
47. You're asking us to apologize?!?
Drew ,   Hod HaSharon, Israel   (10.02.06)
Could chutzpah get any bigger? Since when do people ask others to apologize on Yom Kippur? You self righteous journalists have me sick. I apologize that I ever read your newspaper. I apologize to YNet that I made aliyah in the middle of the lebanon war to fulfill the dream of the Jewish people to live in their land. I apologize that I see light and hope in Israel for a better day, and I'm sorry that I care more about the Jewish people and their well being than a bunch of media sabras who would rather see "Medinat Palestine" instead of Medinat Yisrael. Ynet, I'm unwilling to apologize for my choice to come here, to this beautiful country, and to continue to live the dream we've dreamt for 2000 years. Maybe you, Ynet, should apologize to me.
48. Ynet Keep-up Good Work
walldizo ,   damas   (10.02.06)
Well said, had it not for the Palestinian's anguish and inhumane treatment by some arrogant Israelis, both nations would have enjoyed the fruit of peace.Give back the Arab land and you don't have to apologize any more.
49. To #1
Walldizo ,   Damas   (10.02.06)
Settlers who trot lands belonging to other people sould be exposed to punishment.Settlers are the most irritating segment which Jews can live without.
50. Let's talk about RACISM
Daniel ,   Israel   (10.02.06)
I admit that racism and discrimination exists towards minorities in Israel. However racism and discrimination towards minorities exists in all societies, something that the Jewish people with a long history in exile can confirm. There is therefore no reeason to demonize Israeli society and single it out compared to other countries. Since we are anyway talking about racism, let's get to the root of the REAL racism in the Middle East: The Arab-Muslim world's racist ambition to wipe Israel off the map. Loyal minorities especially Israeli Druzes, some Beduines and Christian Arabs who express loyalty and willingness to integrate into Israeli society, have noticed the warmth and appreciation from regular Israelis like myself. Countess Arab racists and extremists in Israel who cheer when Israel bleeds and share the destructive and racist values of Hamas, Hezballah, Iran and Syria, should ask themselves on this day: COULD THERE BE SOMETHING WITH MY BEHAVIOUR WHICH IS A TURN-OFF FOR NORMAL OPENMINDED ISRAELIS?
51. National atonement
Steve ,   Los Angeles   (10.02.06)
The leadership(?) of Israel should apologize for abandoning 3 soldiers abducted by the enemy as well as permitting daily barrages of rockets to plague the south. This is not my father's Israel.
52. To number 40
David ,   Sydney   (10.02.06)
I couldn't agree with you more
53. Re :41
Me ,   Lebanon   (10.02.06)
then you deserve more attacks :) not from lebanese though, you'll hear from new militants soon
54. atonement
izaak   (10.02.06)
israel is a miracle land with all its faults established on a small parcel of global land surrounded by violently rejecting enemies a few million people regarded as a risk to world peace . look at iraq how the islamics destroy eachother their own followers for this or that interpretation blaming the jews as they kill eachother. there will be no world peace till the jews are left in peace. unite o israel our L-RD is one.
55. What arrogance
Jeffrey Hartog ,   Orlando, Fl   (10.02.06)
Typical journalistic arrogance; my understanding of slichot is requesting forgiveness for one's own sins, rather than advising others of the sins they have commited. Particularly the Media issue, at least could have been tempered with the recognition that the media and journalists have made mistakes, and for these should request forgiveness, rather than using the opportunity to blame others.
56. Wow, I Have Never Seen Such a Sanctimonious Editorial Staff
Daniel Temkin ,   Boston   (10.02.06)
57. For Rejecting Peace???
Jew ,   Eretz Israel   (10.02.06)
What a load of *********. There are no "peace partners" , ok? They want us in the sea. All of them, the Arafats and the Abbasses and the Hamases. When will that get into your brain? When you're swimming?
58. Israel's sins
Foley ,   Manchester   (10.02.06)
Israel has not been fair to others. That is why it has found no peace in its 60 years of existance. If Israel sincerely repents and from now on starts to act justly, then I believe that future is very bright. Otherwise, many people in Europe can see the doom of Israel very soon. Lebanon was a wake up call. Hezbollah men are better and stronger than your men. Nasrallah could have walked to Tel Aviv and all your military machine could not have stop him. Why he didn't do that is anyone's guess. All signs but one now point to the end of Israel. Israel must change its aggressive strategy. Do not rely on deciet and military might. Act justly towards everyone, as your God commands you. Make a fair peace and treat Arabs with respect that you demands for yourselves.
59. Apologise my ars
juan ,   spain   (10.02.06)
The government have done their best in difficult circumstances. Show some loyalty for once and be united against the real enemy
60. I forgive you all except from the israeli media
david shield   (10.02.06)
they remind me more the france media from the israeli, they feed the the public like france feed the world on blame of israel and only the sore of lebanon and not relate to what happen in here, when the israeli citizens only seek to live in quiet and with no terorr religious coconut threaten on them. only because a country near them decided to grow this terror cancer to plan how to kild the childrens & civilians of our country
