1. The chicken or the egg?
Concerned Israeli   (10.15.06)
If the police officers committed any sort of misconduct, they should be brought to justice, but this does not excuse the Arabs from rioting in the first place. Adalah doesn't seem to understand that in order to enjoy the rights that Israel extends to its citizens, the citizens must follow the law and not create chaos and destruction and not to mention injury by rioting. Democracy is a two-way street that many Israeli Arabs do not honor.
2. Throw stones? - get shot. Simple as that
Israel   (10.15.06)
3. #1 concerned Israeli
Michael ,   Haifa   (10.15.06)
Quoting your concluding sentence: " Democracy is a two-way street that many Israeli Arabs do not honour", it may equally be said that "Democracy is a two-way street that many Israeli Jews do not honour". However, the Israeli police only use live ammunition when undemocratic Arabs are rioting
4. ARAB MK Bishara Called SEVERAL TIMES FOR INTIFADA
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (10.15.06)
against Israel's Jews. The ugly, racist, rabid Jew-hate of ethnically cleansing 10,000 Gaza and north Samaria Jews violated Article 80 of the United Nations Charter, broke Israel's Basic Human Rights Law and Clause 9 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Patriotic Jews, including children, are brutally beaten and jailed. Jewish taxpayers who pay Arab MK Bishara's salary are FORCED to FINANCE TREASON! Arab Israeli MKs who are openly genocidal to Jews and support the violent overthrow of Israel are members of Israel's government! No other nation on earth allows such treason. Will Jews revolt against their forced financing of treason and Arab MK hate incitement to a second holocaust of Jews? From article on the violent Arab Muslim Israeli riots in 2000 'Let's investigate everything' by Yaron London, 10/2/05 http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3150205,00.html The report offers a history of Arab demonstrations and protests that over time have become evermore extreme. The report also mentions several individuals that contributed, through words and through silence, to the progression from legitimate protest into a violent, destructive riot. Leaders of the Islamic Movement, wrote the Or Commission, fanned the flames by accusing Israel of planning to destroy the Islamic holy sites on the Temple Mount, and openly sympathizing with Hizbullah and al-Qaeda. MK Azmi Bishara (National Democratic Assembly) has said the Shiite militia should be a role model for the struggle with Israel, and has called several times for an intifada against Israel. Arab-Israeli leaders should be investigated The Or Commission- including one Arab justice and another member considered an important expert in Arab culture - rejected Bishara's evasive comments, and had this to say about the part Israeli Arab leaders played in the October, 2000 riots: Individuals such as the leaders of the Supreme Israeli Arab Monitoring Committee, the Islamic Movement, and Knesset Members Tibi, Bishara, Dehamshe and Zahalka were full partners to the outbreak of riots in October, 2000, and therefore also bear responsibility for the deaths of 13 of their brethren." The following is part of an article from jerusalempost.com, Sept. 25 2005 'Column One: Israel's disengaged establishment' by Caroline Glick: "...recall what happened five years ago. Following months of increased violence and extremism in the Arab-Israeli sector incited directly by the Palestinian Authority, the Israeli Islamic Movement and the Arab members of Knesset, violent riots seized the Arab sector of Israel in October 2000. During the week of riots, Arab Israelis threw rocks and Molotov cocktails at Israeli civilian cars throughout the country. Israeli motorists were dragged out of their cars on Highway 65 along Wadi Ara and beaten. An Israeli motorist was murdered when Arabs from Jasser a-Zarka threw a rock at his windshield as he drove down the coastal highway..."
5. Hamas PRAISE Arab ISRAELIS Who Wish to DESTROY ISRAEL
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (10.15.06)
www.israelnationalnews.com Mesh´al Cites Importance of Israeli Arabs in Hamas Strategy Feb 12, '06 / 14 Shevat 5766 By Nissan Ratzlav-Katz Israeli-Arabs, he said, are one of the most important engines behind the drive to transform all of Israel into "Palestine." In particular, Mesh'al cited the Israeli-Arabs' role in the effort to overwhelm Israel through an Arab "right of return." The Hamas leader's statements in Qatar were not the __expression of a new stance, however. In December, a Hamas campaign video praised Arab citizens of Israel who wish to destroy the country "from within." http://www.israelnationalnews.com/news.php3?id=98341 YNETNEWS (02.10.06) 'Islamic Movement: We’re all Hamas' Islamic Movement members demonstrate in Negev town... Ibrahim Sarsur, head of the Islamic Movement’s southern branch, said... “We are all Hamas and we are all with Hamas...” http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3214137,00.html
6. Is anything more fascistic than Islam ? No !
redmike ,   tel aviv   (10.15.06)
Islam seeks world domination, by force and refusal of its beliefs on pain of death. Nothing can be more fascist than this as it is a text book example of fascism.
7. # 2
(10.15.06)
Does that apply to Meah Shearim and Gaza settlers as well ?
8. To Michael #3
Concerned Israeli   (10.15.06)
I completely agree with you that many Israeli Jews do not honor democratic principles as well. I never said otherwise, but just was focusing on the article at hand. However, regarding your statement about the police never using live ammo against undemocratic Jews... When have Jews launched an intifada? Again, I don't condone unnecessary police force against anyone and I think those officers who acted inappropriately should be punished. My point was simply that Adalah chooses to focus on a few bad cops so to say instead of the real source of the problem which was the bloody intifada launched by the Arab population. It's very hypocritical to support minority rights for a minority that promotes the demise of the very system from which they recieve those rights.
9. The day Israel had their PATRIOTIC MKs ATTACKED by POLICE
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (10.15.06)
Three MKs were attacked at Amona: Aryeh Eldad, Effie Eitam, and Benny Elon. The faces of the three patriotic Jewish MKs are very well known. The police knew exactly who they were attacking. Arab MK Bishara has called several times for an intifada against Israel. Other Arab MKs support the violent overthrow of Israel. Can Israel's government explain why the government allows Arab MKs to commit TREASON and hate incitement to a second holocaust of Jews, and patriotic Jewish MKs, Ministers of Israel's government are viciously attacked by Israel's police? Peaceful Jewish protesters including many children, were savagely attacked by police who used all their might in hitting the protesters repeatedly with metal batons. Jewish victims suffered broken jaws, ribs and limbs and multiple, serious head wounds. February 1, 2006, the infamous day recorded in history when 7,000 Israeli police and military went to war against Jewish innocents instead of against Israel's barbaric enemies. http://www.israelnn.com/special.php?id=amona
10. Action required, not just words
seema ,   Canada   (10.15.06)
Action - Eliminate these terrorists and their producers - Fat ugly women who produce terrorists in dozens. Else next generation Jews will be wiped out.
11. # 3 - that's a whole lotta' bull& you know it
Sderot/ Ra'anana   (10.15.06)
give me one example to your comment. ohh right ... the non-existant stories about non-exsistant israeli "jews" who stir up riots for nothing (dunno' why i have to add the "jews" as the israeli arabs don't want to be called israelis no more ... they call themselves palestinians ... guess it's just us israeli-jews and the israeli-christians now) talking of christians .. do tell everyone here what they had to suffer over the years out of the hands of the "israeli" arabs.
12. victims of themselves
jerome ,   basalt, co   (10.15.06)
if the Israeli's where anything like Nazis all the protesters would be shot and they would have been protesting in the first place. Israeli Jews that demonstate in groups usually aren't close to being as violet and it doesn't become a riot. also the Pally's in the past riots had children up front throwing rocks and Ak47's in the back si police have to react.
13. "rights" center?
Arie ,   Afula   (10.15.06)
More like an advocacy for a hamass takeover. As believeable as the international association for nazi rights screaming hitler/allah was was misunderstood
14. Move to gaza or iran
Arie ,   Afula   (10.15.06)
and see what nazis are really all about
15. Are you my fellow Jews?
Yves ,   Haifa IL   (10.15.06)
You are so filled with hate and have no sense of justice? If Jews riot, and they do from time to time, they are not shot at. Not before and not since the altalena incident. The punishment for rioting is arrest and jail, not execution by my own police force. What happens if they decide they don't like another group as much as they dont like Arabs, they can kill them too? Don't be so sure that one day you may be in a protest and they will decide to shoot you too? We are first a democratic country, that means the rule of law, not rule of bullets. Go after the arab leaders for incitement if you want, but think about this message we are giving to Arab citizens. How are they supposed to even feel like 2nd class citizens after this masscre? Maybe they will never want to be a real part of Israel, but let's not try so hard to push them over to the other side!
16. i wonder why?
fadi ,   lebanon   (10.15.06)
why everytime i post a talkback saying israeli aggressions and attrocities are wrorse than Nazis they do not get posyed here ... but a whole article is posted ... ?? do my words create a national security threat to israel or its just Ynets propaganda that they list all ideas but only when they want !!!!
17. Double standards and racism
Leila ,   Nazareth   (10.15.06)
As a person who self-identifies as a Palestinian Christian with Israeli citizenship, I am most digusted by the racism and double standrads evident in the posts here. It is bad enough that there is institutional racism in Israel against non-Jews. It is even worse when regular members of Israeli society resort to racist stereotyping against Muslims and Palestinians to justify the murder of their fellow citizens by the state. And to those who say that there has not been a Jewish intifada, just exactly what would you call the organized and sustained civil disobedience mounted by the Gaza settlers and their supporters which even resulted in one poor soldier named Itai taking his life, because of the hatred he witnessed in their eyes and actions? Did anyone open fire on the settlers when they were tossing paint and other chemicals on soldiers just doing their jobs? No. Because they were Jews. There is one set of laws for Jews and another for us mere goyim. And you know it.
18. #17Leila
jerome ,   basalt, co   (10.15.06)
The settlers being remove from there homes in Gaza used paint and didn't strap bombs to themselves. So you are probably correct when you say the rule don't apply the same when dealing with the Palis. Mayabe your the racist?!?!
19. If Arabs think
Isac ,   Florida   (10.15.06)
that Israelis are worst than the Nazis, maybe Israel should give them a REAL taste what actually Nazis acted like: Mass killings in the millions, tens of thousands of shooting of babies, women and men, tens of thousands of death by beatings, hunger starvation in the hundreds of thousands and the list goes on and on. Let alone killings in gas chambers. Ignorant and stupid people are too quick to use the word: worst than Nazis , because they have no idea what the Nazis were alike. Or they simply do not WANT to know how the Nazis were.
20. Fadummy I can anwser your question
jerome ,   basalt, co   (10.15.06)
you write that the Israeli aggressors are worse than Nazis and you know it's not true. You also know that the Islamic facsists are extremely like the Nazis in there idiotology. If you wrote the truth instead of your ignorant hate maybe ynet would post.
21. double standarts #17?
(10.15.06)
thank gos that most christians aren't as hypocrit as you. calling yourself a "palestinian"? ... then go right ahead .. let go all your rights as an "israeli" and go live in Gaza ya habibti
22. To Leila #17
Concerned Israeli   (10.15.06)
Racism is a societal concept and must be looked at through this lense. It is one group of people who perceive a common threat by a different group of people and therefore turn their fear outward into hatred as a psychological self-defense mechanism. Racism is basically social insecurity and inherently exists in every society since nobody ever feels 100% secure. Can you figure out why Israeli Jews feel insecure because of their Arab neighbors? And don't talk about double standards. Do I have to describe to you the hatred, violence and anti-Semitism being taught to little Palestinian children from the day they're born? Are these brainwashed youth not the most racist products of the Palestinian education system? In fact, racism is spread through every government institution in the PA. Do you think the only injustice is coming from the Israeli side?
23. manipulative article title for serious fidings
yuyu ,   jaffa Israel   (10.15.06)
The Adalah report should scare us all, very much. Yet by selecting the title you did, you manipulated this atricle into a strange direction. The Adalah report is worth serious discourse. By using a populist title, the report does not get the respect and serious consideration it deserves.
24. holocaust education for Arabs
Kate ,   Jerusalem   (10.15.06)
Hasan Asla - you have absolutely no idea what you are saying. You are not insulting Israel so much as you are insulting your own lack of intellengence. Do you have any idea what happened during the holocaust? Do you know what it was about? Do you care. For your own sake and the sake of the "bereaved families" you represent - GET AN EDUCATION. I do sympathize with those people who were hurt or lost family in the riots. I understand your frustration, hurt and pain. Police corruption is a tough wall to penetrate anywhere in the world. I do not, however, sympathize with your stupidity in making such a comparison. Try next time to think before you talk. You just might find the rest of us really are listening.
25. THOSE WHO SAY THIS CLICHE' DON'T KNOW THE HORROR OF NAZI'S
DAVID P ,   SANTA CRUZ, USA   (10.15.06)
COMPARING ANYTHING IN THIS WORLD TO NAZI'S REVEALS A MALFUNCTION IN ONE'S UNDERSTANDING AND COMPREHENSION OF WHAT AND WHO THE NAZI'S REALY WERE. NOTHING IN THIS WORLD TODAY PARALLELS SUCH EVIL, MAKING THESE INAPPLICABLE COMPARISONS DISPLAYS A SHORT CUT TO THINKING.
26. Disgusting
Margret   (10.15.06)
The unbelievable gaul of these Arabs Israelis never ceases to amaze me! Yes it was tragic and awful their loved ones were killed, and I agree there was probably excess force used by the Israeli police, but still there loved ones shouldn't have been out rioting, attacking, and throwing rocks and firebombs at police ! After all the cruel, evil things the Arabs have done to Jews over the years they are the last ones who should be talking about anyone acting like Nazis! The pregnant Jewish mom and her 5 little daughters sure weren't any threat to the gunmen who walked up to their car and shot them repeatedly at point blank range. The elderly people killed at the Passover meal weren't attacking or throwing huge stones at the suicide bomber. The babies who were killed at the Pizza and Icecream Parlors weren't attacking or beating the Arab who walked into the Icecream and Pizza Parlors and stood next to them and blew them and himself to kingdom come! I am quite sure the families of these innocent victims might think the Arabs are worse then the Nazis too!
27. oktober riots
ami ,   israel   (10.15.06)
did the israli arabs aske themself who started the riots.if they would then they would blame themself. it is time they start to think
28. Thank you #15
JS ,   Montreal   (10.15.06)
It seems a basic sense of humanity is forgotten amidst anger and hatred at times.
29. #6 Fascism
Jimmy ,   Glasgow, UK   (10.15.06)
Fascism is the theory of corporate government paractised by Mussolini in Italy before WW2. There is absolutely no connection with Islam. You speak from careless and profound ignorance.
30. All who say Israelis are worse than Nazis
Jane   (10.15.06)
None of you have ever been burned in ovens. None of you have been rounded up in cattle cars. None of you have been shoved into "showers" and gassed. Now freaking shut up, you miserable pigs.
