121. #111...still losing touch...
DR , Florida, USA (10.23.06)
So you're saying that Israel started this last war with Hezballah? Wrong! How come Lebanon does nothing while a terror group settles in their own back yard? If you had a house and your neighbors let a bunch of rock throwing thugs sit in their back yard and throw stones at your house, wouldn't you be mad? Your logic is flawed dude. You're wrong. Palestinians chose to leave thei lands before Israel was attcked by seven arab countries, remember? They have had several chances at peace and their own state, but have declined everytime...remember? You don't mention any facts that go against your point and that makes you a denier of reality.
122. #111 and other Israel-bashers
eugenie , jerusalem (10.23.06)
Thank you, DR, but they are not only losing touch, they are losing it completely. Washington Post has the story behind who started the Lebanon war: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/10/07/AR2006100701054.html. Secondly, PLO was founded in 1964 with the declared intent to wipe Israel off the map (still not ammended in their chapter). Gaza and the West Bank were conquered only 1967, three years after the creation of PLO. So you when you say occupation, you actually mean all of Israel, despite UN recognition and membership since 1948. And you want to be taken seriously? How come you are not badmouthing Liberia?

isn't it ironic , Montreal, Canada (10.23.06)
hello again... yes yes i said i would go, but im still here. sorry, but i couldnt help it. ok... im not arguing here anymore.. just trying to understand ur point of view. So ur saying Palestinians had several chances for peace. So lets go back to the example of me invading ur home and claiming it as mine. So lets say, i decided to give you one room, but its still my house and ur not allowed to go anywhere but that one room. And i decide to build a huge wall to block you from access anywhere else in "your former" house. Is that a fair deal? If i were you, i'd decline and want my house back just as it was mine in the first place! Are those really "chances for peace and their own state"? Doesn't make sense. So ... i don't think any of the deals were fair because it was theirs in the first place ... but i will continue some research on that... and yes, ur right that i didn't mention any facts that go against my point... maybe i am biased... but im leaving that for you; hence a discussion.

and u call the gaza strip a piece of land? and what are the israelis trying to do to the Palestinians? ... wipe them off the map... from their own land. And ur saying that in 1948, it was the UN who recognized the state of israel and its membership... yes, accepted on condition to a few laws ... which they violated! "and you want to be taken seriously"?! ...and im not talking about Liberia here cuz we are talking about Israel and Palestine.
125. G-d bless Mr .Harper
Just_jane , Israel (10.23.06)
Show the world who is the real enemy of all. the name of a suicide bomber has never a Jewish or Israeli name.

On condition of a few laws? Do you know, anonymous persons what those laws might and what it is about them that Israel "violated"? You mean General Assembly resolutions, perhaps? Yes, Israel does not comply to a few resolutions. But let me mention the fact that General Assembly resolutions are more not binding. And of the Security Council resolutions only those adopted under Chapter 7 have any validity. And what can you say about the fact that the Palestinians have a history of "violating" and refusing to respect and implement such treaties and agreements signed by their own leaders and not imposed on them by others?
127. #82 Such Hypocracy!
M. Hartley , Atlanta, US (10.30.06)
Tell me this: How did the US become a "legal" country??? I suggest you ask Native Americans about that "legal" and see what they have to say.

Wow, what a spew of propaganda. Read Alan Dershowitz's "The Case for Israel" as an antidote to these gross distortions and outright lies about Israel. I find it mind boggling that there are so many people who apologize for terrorism. It's never the terrorists fault that they use indiscriminate viloence, killing innocent civilians, to advance their cause. It's always someone else's fault. What hooey. At the most basic level, terrorists are profoundly irresponsible; however, they are also extremely dangerous, deadly, and depraved. My background is Scottish. My people were driven from Scotland by a mix of economic hardhip and political indifference to the plight of the poor. My people were, in effect, refugees who settled in Canada. They didn't bomb the Scottish government or target other Scottish citizens who replaced them. They made a new life--and a better one!--in a foreign land: Canada.
129. HARPER DOESN'T REPRESENT US
Yossarian , Canada (10.31.06)
Harper is sending a chill through the moral consciousness of the majority of Canadians. He is a "bush" league buffoon who will cease to be the P.M. shortly.
132. "Steve" Harper does NOT represent Canadian values.
Dave , Calgary, Alberta, Ca (11.01.06)
His days are numbered. What an outrageous position to hold, supporting terrorist occupiers. Shame.
