1. Lieberman
G.Franco ,   OceanShore,Australia   (10.24.06)
It is disheartening for a lifetime supporter for the cause of Israel to see that political expediency on the part of Mr Omert has brought about such an unholy and dangerous alliance as Liebermans' inclusion into the Government. It is a slap in the face to Israeli Arabs.
2. Not relevant
Brod ,   USA   (10.24.06)
What the Islamist politicians say about Lieberman is irrelevant. They are biased. They do not want to see a strong Israeli leader in the government.
3. Israeli arab = oxymoron
Arie ,   Afula   (10.24.06)
4. Lieberman inciting?
Igor ,   Princeton, USA   (10.24.06)
What about the Arab MKs cheering on Nasrallah? And they accuse him of "fanning the flames"? They are the ones who led the Israeli public to believe that Liebrman's policies were the only solution to the "Arab problem".
5. Ynet has NO SHAME
(10.24.06)
Totally biased for the arab self hating Israelis, to show a image of Lieberman that makes him look like the demon. How low
6. Those who call for the expulsion of Jews are peace activitis
(10.24.06)
but those that call for the expulsion of Arabs are called extremists, radicals, racists, and of course a "Nazi". Please just blow up, but in the confims of your house, POS
7. Not entering for policies
Steve ,   USA   (10.24.06)
B"H I am seeing him enter in not for his policies but rather for his solutions to the government's problems. He is able to calm a number of hot difficulties, such on what to do with the accusations against the president and so forth, that make him valuable as a player. The dribble on the other issues does not actually drive his entry into the coalition. It is his ability to sideline current crisis that is his value. In other words, he is being setup as a scapegoat to relieve public pressure. I cannot see how the Arab parties could be upset to see him fall, but the more the resistance, the more appealing he becomes for that reason that he will be an appealing scapegoat for Israel's problems. I am not looking for any mass-transfers of Arabs. Perhaps some relocation programs that actually ease hardship for those who want to move to other countries might come up as a start, which is not really all that racist, if successful. It might even also apply to bereft Jews, giving opportunities to those who have none. If the Hamas government cannot be changed, one alternate is to move those out who suffer under it to relieve suffering, with financial assistance, to better pastures. What is racist about that? It is providing opportunities for people who currently have none.
8. a quote from the article
Antonio ,   Haifa   (10.24.06)
"“I believe Israel is on the road toward fascism. Lieberman represents this fatal process of a country that is losing its way. I myself have disengaged from all the Liebermans, and today I live in a refugee camp in Jenin, where I’m building a children’s theater. Lieberman’s entrance into the government has taken away my desire to return to the Israeli scene.”--said some Arab. Awesome!!! Can we hope that more will follow?!
9. juliano mor
jewish ,   israel   (10.24.06)
I personally am very pleased that you moved to Jenin. By all means, do not come back! Also relinquish Israeli passport. And you were never a good actor, either! Mediocre, perhaps. Cabotin, yes, that's the word.
10. observation
mike ,   usa   (10.24.06)
It is all too easy to label someone a racist or a facist and to make a general statement about how democracy will be trashed. What about some facts? What about some actual quotes? What about presenting view of people who did not cheer Nasrallah? P.S. are you aware that many Israeli Arabs blamed Israel for the rockets lobbed into Israel from Lebanon? That many Israeli Arabs cheered from rooftops when Saddam Huseein lobbed missles into Israel in the first gulf war? Why are so many people attacking Israel for being undemocratic, when it is, in fact, the only democracy in the Middle East? The Israelies left 100% of the Gaza Strip, including greenhouses that could have served to employ some Gaza residents and bring them some income. What did they do with them? What did they do with the areas, Israel left that was going to be used to built apt building for residents? They all serve as point from which to fire rockets into the peaceful town of Sderot. Hamas declares very clearly that it seeks the destruction of Israel. The sad truth is that the Arabs and too many self righteous Europeans are simply guilty of anti semitism, or hatred or prejudice against Jews.
11. He wants an all Jewish smaller Israel
Mark ,   USA   (10.24.06)
If Israel wants to remain all Jewish it must be much smaller in size.
12. A smaller Jewish Israel is a better Israel
Mark ,   USA   (10.24.06)
13. israeli racism and arab racism/antisemitism
v. n.y. ,   usa   (10.24.06)
israel is a jewish state! for jes and israelis. their feelings regarding arab, their neighbors are allowed to be expressed and laws formulated by israel to protect its citizens may be racist, but nonthe less necessary. maybe these arab israeli leaders and knesset activists should consentrate more about what their brethren in the arab countries teach their children. in these countries we are still the sons of pigs and donkeys......isn't that racism to boot? as well as blatant antisemitism. when arab leaders clean up their act and the vile material in their hostory and education books related to jews and our country, then israel and its leaders will have a reason not to be so "antiarab" as these people claim we are. i rest my case. shalom to all!
14. if israeli arabs don't stop biting the hand that feeds you
ben ,   florida   (10.24.06)
abbas zkoor in this article is talking about a jewish state 'only'...nothing wrong with that: do our arab neigbors acknowledge jews living in their midst? NO! So don't have muslims talk about pour little themselves. you are getting things this way yourself by biting the hand that feeds you so to speak. you don't like it in israel: you know what the alternative is but they know that they would nowhere close have it as good in any arab country as they have it in israel, generally spaeking that is-we are aware of their general and identity problems and I am not argueing their point either, but:. first when arab MKs stop to wage against the state of Israel by speaking out against it again and again the minute they set foot on i.e. syrian soil. expel them if they don't like it here, period! Any Israeli cooperating witht the enemy would be in serious trouble, same should apply for all citizens, should it not?
15. YES!!!
jon ,   Great Neck USA   (10.24.06)
All I could say is ITS ABOUT TIME!!! That someone is making sure that Israel will always be a jewish state. By giving and back doesn't solve the problem I for one will sleep will at night klnowing that Israel Our Home Chairman Avigdor Lieberman signed an agreement and will do what he says. For the 1st time olmart did the right thing or made the right move, But i still believe that the government should fall if its not to the right!!!!!11
16. Lieberman must be the right man for the job
Darren ,   Tampa, FL USA   (10.24.06)
Being in the U.S, I don't know all the faces and all the various political positions, particularly with 66 parties. But the more I hear leftists, liberals, Islamic fascists ( which includes all of Islam), and Arab-Israelis whose true heart is not with Israel, berate someone, then that someone must be somebody worth noting and voting for. He apparently gets in their crawl and that sounds like the right man to me!!!!! Israel should have all right wingers in their government with a policy to reclaim all the land that God gave Israel. Olmert & Peretz should have been dumped by now before they are allowed to lose another war.
17. No, Israel is NOT Racist!
RIB ,   USA   (10.24.06)
This is RACISM!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlE5sa2dv4w&mode=related&search= http://www.pmw.org.il/tv%20part1.html
18. Israelis, do not abandon your God : He needs you
Marcel Abel ,   (France)   (10.24.06)
as you need Him never so much as now. Extreme right and left wings have failed to establish security, harmonious peace and love inside and out. Once blessed and now cursed are you trying to find out a scapegoat for your sins before driving it away to a main stumbling block and then to death ! For the main stumbling block for many is your deficient tolerance and absence of visibility from your leadership. Your enemies are not France (Europe) but Iran, North Korea, and probably one day united Russia and China. « Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. For your hands are stained with blood, your fingers with guilt. Your lips have spoken lies, and your tongue mutters wicked things. No one calls for justice; no one pleads his case with integrity. They rely on empty arguments and speak lies; they conceive trouble and give birth to evil. » Stubborn Refusal to Ask for Directions It may hurt the male ego, but asking for directions is a key to success in this life and beyond. Wise King Solomon wrote: "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths" . (Proverbs 3, 5-6). Good luck ! May the Lord protect you ! (Many thanks to some who have comforted me recently).
19. Calling the kettle black
marya ,   sacramento, USA   (10.24.06)
I don't know why I ever get astonished by the hypocrisy in the left and arab population in Israel. What they're saying is all the anti-Semitic crap they spout daily is okay because they are the eternal victim. They say the most vile things about Jews. Live with it!! Stay in Jenin Juliano. You can look down from your self righteous high horse there.
20. a moment of truth for truth Zionists
avramele   (10.24.06)
either the Jewish public rejects this racist move or it is guilty of turning its back on the liberal zionism of Herzl, Weitzman and Jabotinsky... not only labor but principled conservatives like Meridor and Rivlin should speak out --racism is not zionism!
21. Juliano Mer-Khamis
jane ,   vermont   (10.24.06)
And to think his grandfather was a great Zionist pioneer. What a shame! The Arabs of Israel have no one but themselves to blame.. For years they have called themselves Palestinians. If they create a party that is pro-Zionist, attitudes towards them might change. When pigs fly!
22. To(#16) Darren --> No Echo !!
Amir AL-Safir ,   Lebanon   (10.24.06)
You said, “Israel should have all right wingers in their government with a policy to reclaim all the land that God gave Israel.” In today’s politics, even the Bush administration will laugh at this notion. In fact, Men, and also women to be politically correct, use religion to advance their political will. Religion does not propel one human to kill another in the name of God, One God, and same God. Unless, you are a believer that Jews, Christians and Muslims, including others, believe in different “GOD”. You know what “GOD” makes of us the humans? I can give you a hint; he think we are stupid, arrogant, poignant being and utterly insane and disgraceful to the true meaning of religion. Do you know why “GOD” sent so many messengers of peace? No problem, I can give you another hint. He knows we are forgetful, vengeful, warmongers and only succumb to civility when we kill ourselves to the limit of near extinction. So my friend, there is no such GOD that favors one man over another. We are all going back to where we came from and we better act before out time is over. Israel, cannot exist on the blood and bones of the sacrificed Palestinians for the sake of this mediocre argument that,” GOD gave the Land to Israel”. This is an utter non-sense, because the same argument can swivel outwards, and then come right back and hit you right on your face between your eyes. My advice, do not succumb to religious decadence. Try to serve righteousness from a human point of view. The Palestinians are the indigenous population and they have suffered almost to the point of loosing their culture. If this stays on like that, I assure you, Israel will have a long way to go in realizing its future as independent as it hopes it is today. There is no civility in destroying another culture. The settlers from the West, did onto the Palestinians so much harm and destruction that today, no Israeli believe that Palestinians even existed, as much as the same argument that goes on where many in the Arab world do not believe that Jews were put to sleep by the Germans in millions. Its very disgraceful to dwell into this realm of whether nations believe in the existential realm of others. This is certainly not what “GOD” wanted. And, the story goes on. Amir
23. An interesting sidelight on all of this
Steve G ,   Kew Gardens,NYC   (10.24.06)
I think it is interesting that the very same people who say that Hamas must be recognized because they rule because of a 'democratic process' now object to Lieberman because he has arrived by the very same democratic process. I do not have a sound opinion on the man and his meaning in the new coalition.. .. .. .. but someone should be asking the Arabs and their apologists why their 'democracy' allows them view genocidal religious maniacs as legitmate, while an equally electoral based party is somehow not legit. or maybe they are just evil racist murderers who will say anything and get their Euro-buddies to back them up for a cup or two of oil and some good old-fashioned Euro anti-semitism.
24. Oy Actors
malcolm   (10.24.06)
They are forever full of themselves and think everyone care what THEIR point of view is. THier opinions are as valuable and worthless as everyone else.
25. lieberman looks crazy in that picture.
yonatan ,   nyc   (10.24.06)

26. Atlast...
DK ,   Israel   (10.24.06)
A strong leader to Israel, not as the weakling leaders we had.. I hope the security status will be changed to the good side. http://www.globaljewishcommunity.com/
27. Unlike Iranian Jews, Israeli Arabs have no fear to speak up
AK   (10.24.06)
israeli Arabs are free to criticize Israel without any fear of retribution -- and then they complain about Israel being a fascist state?
28. Finally someone with balls
Steven ,   San Francisco, CA   (10.24.06)
is part of the Israeli government. Congratulations Avigdor Lieberman and much success.
29. lieberman
mommy ,   brooklyn, usa   (10.24.06)
I think it is time to set everyone into place - anyone living in a country and does not believe in its values does not belong there. Arabs Jews or for that matter any nationality. Do not like get out. Israel is a jewish state and should be respected for its values don't like Israel get out. The Arab-Israeli's are really out of hand. They think they can instigate what they want and get away. Sorry that is not the way it works. Don't respect get lost.
30. It's called Democracy
Dan   (10.24.06)
They are entitled to change the composition of their Coalition, just as you are allowed to publically disapprove of that Coalition. At the end of the day, Israel is a democratic State, even with all its flaws. And, if you don't like it, then go live in Gaza or Iran, if that makes you happy.
