31. # 22, no right to hold parade in Jerusalem?
Vitaliy, Esq. ,   NJ   (11.07.06)
Is it not the capital of Israel? If you can't hold a parade there, why not call things what they are, say that Jerusalem is just Jewish Tehran and Mekka in one, a province, and then move the capital to Tel Aviv?
32. Thank you, Avram Hein!
Rachel ,   New York   (11.07.06)
Thank you for speaking for those of us who have not lost their rationality, who believe in freedom of speech and democratic values.
33. Free speech only for Arabs and secular elites
(11.07.06)
Everybody else, shut up or we beat you!
34. Blood guilty if you do not warn and speak truth
marilyn   (11.07.06)
I believe that it is wrong to judge or condem any one , but I believe it is just as wrong to condone and to refuse to use your freeness of speech to 'warn' that there are certain activities that God himself has put the death penalty on. Young men and women today are being seduced by propaganda into a high risked activity and those who should know better are not warning them of their bad course. If you have true love you must speak the truth
35. YOU AVRAM HEIN..DONT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT
YOU TWIST AND LIE ,   AVRAM HEIN......   (11.07.06)
YOU ARE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEMS YOU ARE A FOOL NOT WORTH ANYMORE COMMENTS OR REASON WHY.. BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT SEE THE TRUTH .. TORAH IS NOT YOUR GUIDE NOR ARE YOU EVEN LEARNED IN ONE DAY OF A TORAH CLASS. YOU ARE NOT WORTHY OR DIPLOMACY FROM ANY CRITIC. YOU BLANTANTY LIE . IS THIS WHAT BECAME OF ISRAEL? KING DAVID IS LOOKING DOWN AND WEEPING. THE BIGGEST SIN YOU MAKE IS THAT NON JEWS WILL READ YOUR WORDS AND BELIEVE YOU. LIBERAL LEFT SOCIALIST UNIONIST APOGETICS WILL HAVE LUNCH WITH YOU. ANY JEW THAT HAD ONE HOUR OF TRUE TORAH WILL TURN THEIR BACK ON YOU... BUT YOU DONT CARE.. AND LOOK AT YOUR RESULT LOOK AT YOUR PEACE LOOK AT YOUR HARMONY YOU ARE A FOOL DACON9
36. Words and curses
Josh   (11.07.06)
Free speech is not a Torah concept so your off target speeking about Torah. You may see an imaginary evil in good men trying to stop corruption but your foolish words are only the cords that you use to pull curses upon yourself. What curses will befall a Jewish people if they allow this? How many deaths are attributed to the curses already? Do the judicators consider this or maintaining a Jewish state or do they only apply that to holidays? You speak of Lashon Harah but they are in fact gay and that is not allowed in Torah so they are warranting ill will. Torah says you shall be a nation of judges and you shall remove evil (a protest is a good thing) from your midst. The actions of protest are not as you say and you cannot use Torah as you foundation for your writting as you are picking and choosing out of context while ignoring the big picture of Torah's view on homosexuality. I would fear doing such as the devine penalties are costly to a fool who address the Jewish people and nations with words that support a sin. Men and women who sexually do things that are, in my opinion gross, and worse against Torah, want to parade their lifestyle (read perversion choices) in the streets of Jerusalem. That is the point not some concept of free speech. Free speech was not meant to allow evil a voice but to prevent silencing of good.
37. Avram Hein is A Typical "Religious" REFORM Jew Who Knows
H ,   Jerusalem   (11.07.06)
NOTHING about Torah. If he doesn't know the basics of G-d's commandments, and that this is an abominable sin as mentioned in Leviticus 18:22, then he's as religious as the Jerusalem cats. Or perhaps the cats are more religious because they surely wouldn't do such acts. Never heard of animals doing this, only human animals.
38. So far, this is the best article I've read on the Gay Parade
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (11.07.06)
Good for you! This is what our traditions really are, not unreasoned, irrational intolerance. Since when is it Jewish behavior to riot in the street like wild animals? You're a real mentsh.
40. Parallel
P. ,   Holy City   (11.07.06)
This article reminds me of the "Anti-Zionist Committee of the Soviet Public of the Jewish Descent" formed by the KGB in the 70s for bashing of Israel. The Israeli leftist media uses the same method: bash the religious with the help of traitors from their midth.
41. FINALLY THE EXTREME RIGHT AND HAMAS AGREE
David ,   Yerushalayim   (11.07.06)
42. Finally a voice of reason
LW ,   Ra'anana   (11.07.06)
43. Sodomy a requirement for free speech?
Bennie ,   Jerusalem   (11.07.06)
I guess millions of us well-adjusted Jews have never really enjoyed free speech.
44. Invitation to monkey-sex parade in Jerusalem
Jackoff ,   Paris   (11.07.06)
You are all invited to the first annual International Monkey Sex Pride Parade in Jerusalem being planned for July 2007. In addition to the Monkey Sex Parade, their will be a full week of joyful and educational activities including workshops, coming-out-of-the closet support groups, and both human and monkey speakers extolling the benefits of warm and loving relationships between monkeys and humans. We will also be introducing a monkey-human civil marriage bill to the Knesset. We are particularly targetting sexually repressed Orthodox Jews whom definitely need to be liberated.
45. This guy is religious like I am Chinese.

47. WHAT AN INTELLIGENT VOICE OF REASON!
Daniel ,   Tel Aviv   (11.07.06)
Hein is not gay. He is not even an advocate for gay men and women. Hein is an advocate for tolerance and he is willing to recognize that Jerusalem is both a religous capital and a POLITICAL capital. If the Knesset were in Tel Aviv (as the rest of the world, especially the Arab world would prefer), then a politcal march in Jerusalem would be wrong. However Jerusalem is Israel's ETERNAL CAPITAL.. Therefore ANY CITIZEN with a political messaage has the right to demonstrate PEACEFULLY. The author of the article understands that. The demonstrations of the Haredi community are NOT peaceful. They are filled with violent actions and should be treated as common criminals. The fact that they are not, is indicative of the 'special rights' they have over average citizens. These 'rights' should be removed and those breaking laws should be jailed. Had the Haredi filed for permission to hold a counter march; had they organized a boycott they would have been acting within the boundries of the law and democracy. It is good to know that there are religious Jews such as the author who still support freedom over fundamentalism and zealotry.
48. To #39. What the hell are you saying?
(11.07.06)
49. HUMOR
Yaakov ,   JERUSALEM   (11.07.06)
Ah yes, another humorous article by a so called "religous" Jew telling us how we should all just get along, and adding to that pamsy theory misinterpreting TORAH to back his theory, I invite him to pull himself away from the Pedophiles and join us in praying at Har Habayit thus acknowleding a Jews rights to pray on our Holiest sight As a note to my earlier mention of Har HABAYIT, new"judge"benisch statement that Har Habayit was an international site so different in context to any goings on in Jerusalem, in response to litigants appeal to ban parade again shows the stupidity and lack of Jewishness of the "low" court, apparently a 13 year old girl in her refual to bend her knee to these characters has more wisdom then most of the "legal" minds in our country.
50. #44 Jackoff: Correct term is "primasexual"
Jurgen Bjornstad ,   Bergen, Norway   (11.07.06)
You used the slur of "monkey-sex" in referring to relationships between humans and other primates such as chimpanzees and baboons. The correct term is "primasexual" as all humans are a form of primate as are our relatives the chimps, gorillas, etc. "Monkey-sex" is a slur used by those bigots who do not understand that relationships between various forms of primates are natural, as G-d created us all. My relationships with my primate partners such as Helga (chimp) and Bjorn (wonderful male lowland gorilla) have been both sexually and emotionally satisfying and fulfilling.
51. # 44 hYSTERICAL couldn't stop laughing
BUSH ,   USA   (11.07.06)
52. What a funny article. # 28 Vitality Esq
BUSH ,   USA   (11.07.06)
That is the whole point of #7. Nobody ever heard of a pro gay religious Orthodox if he is one that is. I never read about someone this confused in my life.
53. Answer to # 16
Bush ,   USA   (11.07.06)
G-d will take care of them after His patience runs out with His nation like when His patience ran out by the Spanish Inquisition or WWII. Don't worry about G-d not taking care of us when we go against Him, HISTORY PROVES it over and over. Hey we are right before WWIII and who do you think will be involved again THE JEWS. Regarding you're second question, there is no point of killing them yet until we follow the Torah. Torah says if we do not follow her G-d will bring different nations to scare and hurt us. Why the hell do you think we are still in exile for because we never changed for the better. G-d does care that is why we are the most persecuted. Proved you wrong
54. Can we have a gay burro parade?
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (11.07.06)
I mean they are happy and cute. The gayest creature on earth. Lets give the burro's a parade of their own. When are we having the happily heterosexual parade. What colors do they fly?
55. to # 26 Michael
charles ,   petach tikva   (11.07.06)
It hurts ? today it's the parade , yesterday it wasa car driving Shabbat , or a shop open on the same day . And tomorrow ? separate buses ? or separate queues at post office or banks ? When will they forbid music on Shabbat ? or TV ? when will they dictate us what to eat and when to fast ? People have to stand up against those black fanatics , who achieved surely one thing this week : more hatred towards them .

57. #55, I'm a Proud Jew, I don't desecrate
Michael U ,   SF,CA   (11.08.06)
Charles, Your hatred of religion is self-evident. I don't know why you stay in Israel, which to me is the home of the religious Jew. I have begun planning to move to Israel to be with my religious brothers and sisters. I have no problem with the halacha of Judaism. I don't drive on Shabbat, I don't listen to music or watch TV on shabbat, I don't cook on Shabbat. You call the religious fanatics and I call the non-religious sinners and wicked. I love the rabbis and look into their rulings with much interest. I think the parade is an abomination and I discussed this with two rabbis last shabbos.... There is no reason people have to parade their sins in the most holy of citys. I don't care what sin it is you are parading, don't be proud of your sins and flaunting your sexuality in the city of Jerusalem.
58. Michael #57
Daniel ,   Tel Aviv   (11.08.06)
Michael you may be a proud orthodox Jew and that is a good thing of which to be proud. I support your right to observe Shabbat, Kashrut, and all the halacha you choose. I support your right to vote for whomever you choose. I support your right to live as choose. I support your rights regardless of you being heterosexual homosexual or bisexual. Your sexuality which is not a choice, should not be a means of discrimination. Nor should your religious beliefs, which truly are a choice. Gay Pride parades started because gay people were oppressed just for being gay. It was a form of civil disobedience and a means of gaining a political voice. They were tired of people telling them they should be ashamed of themselves. Being gay is not something for which someone needs to be ashamed. (Unlike choosing to hurl stones and bricks at policemen) Pride parades may often be over the top and the most flamboyent displays can often be witnessed but the real reason behid the parade is still there. The horrible and violent oppositon to the parade is witness to this. Were gay people in Israel given full and equal rights then the need may become moot. Israel is moving quickly in that direction and for that the country needs to be applauded. When that happens the Gay Pride Parade can truely become just a party. But until that time, or until Israel has a different political capital city , then Jerusalem will always be the focus of political protest marches. The shame and sin seems to be with those unwilling to be tolerant and those who act violently or incite violence against peaceful marchers. I doubt this type of behaiviour would tolerated in SF. In fact I bet you would be horrified were a religious Jew to stab a marcher at the SF gay pride parade as happened last time in J'lem
59. G-d doesn't care???
(11.08.06)
After the Jews attended Achasveirosh's party, Hashem signed a death decree on the Jewish people, which was cancelled when we did Teshuvah. What makes you so sure that Iran and Hizbollah are not tools to carry out such a decree today? One of the main problems with Achashveirosh's party was the gilui araiyot. Is that not happening again? before saying G-D doesen't care, maybe we should look and see if our actions merit that G-D should interceed on our behalf.
