The reason why this tradition developed to grow to this ugly practice goes back to some societies' beliefs that a woman without a clitoris will be a "good" woman, as she will not be lustful and lecherous. One question is whether Muslim women are more likely to be mutilated than Christian women in Ethiopia. Are they? In Lebanon we open our doors for each other, we eat from each others' food, we shelter each other. We have our quarrels but at the end of the day most of us look out for each other.
