I'm sure Israel would be inclined to be more generous with those Sudanese who have sought shelter there. You'll recall how an Israeli freighter picked up Vietnamese refugees years ago when no one else would. But Sudan itself is a declared "enemy state", which adds a complication. Israel does not want to set a precedent that would invite a flood of additional Sudanese refugees. Egypt might be tempted to "get rid" of those she has by dumping them on Israel's poorly guarded southern border.

In her interview she failed to mention about the Jewish sudanese Community. My great grandfather was one of the first Jews to move to Khartoum in the late 1800s. By 1967 there were about 500 Jews in Khartoum. They were expelled in 1967, their properties were expropriated and Sudanese citizenship revoked. She has a lot of courage. Bless her.

There are 270 Sudanese refugees in Israel. 200 are in jail and 70 in Kibbutzes. There are 2 million refugees in Egypt. Israel must help them though I understand that they are afraid that2 million could show up in Israel and that there are limits to how many they canhelp.
