Mark -- Unions should stay out of politics, and if stated you should also state that over 60% of the members of that union are against they boycott. The Union should work at protecting it's members, Period. Alex--Canada has over 300 armored Bisons in Africa, ready for Sudan as told to me by Peter MacKay, although we are waiting for approval from the Sudan government to deploy this force. The same government that is responsible for this atrocity. When the UN says go, we will enter.

At least the case of these Sudanese refugees was able to be fought freely infront of an Israeli court, which is practically impossible in any of the Arab countries.

Did you ever ask yourself the questions if those NGOs who take governmental decision to the court, will have a ground to stand on in the by her mentioned Arab countries?

#14 - What are you talking about? Your religion is swelled with hatred, violence, and hypocricy. How dare you try and say otherwise. I don't care where you live and who your friends are, the fact of the matter is that Islam is endagering the world with its violent and hateful rhetoric. This is a FACT. #21 - What the hell are you talking about and who let you become a journalist? What a clown show you are.

Can you blame me for bashing Islam?? You scream "allah Hu Akhbar" when you kill. You take pictures holding the Koran before going on a suicide mission to blow up a bus full of civilians. You preach, in the name of Allah to kill the infidel. What the hell would you expect me to think about Islam.

When we already learn any lessons? Our Galut(servant) mentality made us believe in democracy as absolute GOOD. It simply not! Having lived among other peoples we started idealizing them and think that if they are given a choice they will make the right one. Look around for God's sake! Russians given a choice chose total Nazis versus talented and well-educated leaders like Gorbachev and Eltzin; Palestinians chose HAMAS and if you know history: Nazis in Germany were elected absolutely democratically. Carter's crusade for "human rights" brought to power bloody regimes of Khomeini in Iran and Sandinistas in Nicaragua. Carter also toppled Jafar Nimeiri in Sudan who was the closest ally of Anwar Sadat. Now we have this idiot Bush overthrow Saddam Hussein for the sake of “democracy” and not only got a war there but also tremendously increased Iran's influence and imperial capabilities to move west-ward. The great "democrats" Sharon and Scharansky basically did the same to Arafat(and got us HAMAS) and to Syria's Assad(rejected his olive branch and threw him into Iran's orbit) Our friend Taraji Mustafa chose as a target of her "human rights" exercises not the murderous Nazi Iran but peaceful Egypt because of the "human rights”(the “right” to spew hatred) violations of the pseudo-Islamic extremists there. If the Jews (as we always do) start licking the behind of this our new friend she will drag us into confrontation with the only 2 neighbors Israel has peace with. As for the refugees issue: Jordan and Israel are tiny countries and cannot afford taking in substantial amount of Sudanese refugees. I feel sympathy to the refugees’ plight but given the level of their education(and birthrate) they will be hard to absorb and will become yet another source of tensions(like Israel does not have enough now!). We should welcome people like Taraji Mustafa(if she is sincerely friendly) but we should be firm not allow them to impose their agenda on us. Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Libya and other pro-Western countries please violate "human rights" of the bloody pseudo-Islamic extremists and prevent them from bringing bloody wars in the Middle East! By all means! #14, Mustafa, I am with you my friend. I don't consider the extremist to be representatives of the centuries-old religion originating from Judaism which is Islam. And # 43: you are wrong.
46. MISLEADING ARTICLE TITLE
Khalid   (12.09.06)
The title of this article implies that the woman praised the gov't of Israel or the State of Israel, when she did not, and in fact made a conscious effort to state she "does not defend the Israeli gov't." Actually, I agree with much of what she said; how can you not? Egypt has killed Sudanese refugees, Arabs do have a terrible record on Sudan, but please, she did not "praise Israel," rather, she mentions only "those Israeli citizens whom choose to be friends." Surely, Israelis like that are also friends with Palestinians.

as an arab woman, you should be more than supportive of woman like ms. Mustafa, woman who are modern, sophisticated, inteligent and are not afraid to speak their mind, a combination, that is unfortunately very rare in the society you come from.

It is not lost on this intelligent woman that Jews are the ones most helping the Darfur people, while the Arabs couldn't care less. She joins Wafa Sultan and others who are coming to realize that the Jews are if anything way too sympathetic for their own good, rather than being the aggressors.

Dan ,   Washington, DC   (12.09.06)
I agree with everything u said. My friends who are Muslim are all very respectful of Judaism and Christianity. I am an Israeli living in the States and unfortunately I have to admit there are many racists Jews and Israeli's, and just like you said there are racist Arabs. Dont forget to take these talkbalks with a grain of salt. Racists, Islamophobes, antisemites all tend to be over-represented on these sites and if you read them to much (unfortunately they are addicting sometimes) you get a distorted view of how the majority of people think. But yes, unfortunately, racism, hatred, and misunderstanding is definitely out there.

"And yes, I am planning to wage a little war against some Muslim clerics who abuse Islam and its image." A little war huh? Just be careful...you know how those fanatics can be if they feel you are a threat to the religion.

Tam   (12.09.06)
"Israel should open its borders to Sudanese refugees even more..." That's fine and dandy but shouldn't we as an international community help the Sudanese in their own country? Shouldn't we be standing with the Sudanese in fighting off those who are killing them? Isn't it better to save their country and help them rebuild? It won't benefit just them, but it will benefit us as a whole because there would be no threat against us if we do this!
56. BLACK PALESTINIANS
George ,   jerusalem   (12.09.06)
"Unfortunately this is not taken into account by the Palestinian public and people, who treat the Sudanese people in the most terrible, racist and persecutory manner, only because they are a black people." This is a totally irresponsible comment by this Taraji Mustafa,so called Sudanese human rights activist . where did she get this information from as their is hardly any Sudanese in Palestine. Of course there are black people both muslim and christians in Palestine that originated from countries such as Senegal and Ethiopia that are fully integrated in palestinian society and even intermarriage in the society. Ms.Mustafa owes the palestinian society an apology. I suggest that she visits Palestine and see for herself.
57. not all people are bad
juliana   (12.09.06)
she was just reafirming what a minority always say, not all people are bad in all societies. you will always find some who think otherwise, sadly there is alot of brainwashing these days in the media and also people tend to select what they want to here. Racism is an every day thing in our life its just that some pple over express it. charity begins at home so being a good neighbour begins with you! together the world will be a better place. Peace to Isreal, her people and the world.
58. YNET Censors, Hani re-posts
Hani ,   Montreal, Canada   (12.09.06)
* Palestine sent a contingent to the Doha Asian Games which includes a LARGE number of Palestinian blacks of African origin, hence the accusation that Arabs are racist pigs is rejected. * Taraji Mustafa has been politically compromised. She clearly does not reflect the honorable position of the Sudanese people vis-a-vis the Arab-Israeli conflict and Palestinian-Israeli conflict in specific. My guess is that she has a Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and is using her location in Canada to gain prominence as a Sudanese politician. *Taraji have some shame, Sudan has been our friend and will remain our friend so long as they stand by us in our confrontation with the occupiers.
59. 58 - You undermine your claim to a homeland
logic ,   USA   (12.09.06)
You write about 'many black Palestinians of African origin'. If they are indeed African as you claim, then you can't claim that Israelis are occupying Palestinian lands since, clearly, many Palestinians are originally from a different location as well. In many talkbacks, you focus on the fact that many Israelis had European origins and thus their presence in the ME was illegitimate. So what is it? African origin or Palestinian homeland - you can't have it both ways.
60. #59 What a preposterous statement
Hani ,   Montreal, Canada   (12.09.06)
What a silly comment..what a silly person you are! Do you understand what the term "minority" means? Those blacks in Palestinian society are descendents of slaves, who have since been been freed and have integrated fully with Palestinian society, itself rooted in the land for centuries. Israelis should borrow a leaf from Palestinian society which has learned to integrate its African, Armenian, and Christian elements into the bigger realm of Palestinian identity!
