61. 60 - Palestinian society there for centuries?
logic ,   USA   (12.09.06)
In your statement about minorities and integration, you neglect to mention whose slaves, from where. In your integration of Christian elements, you neglect to mention mass Christian migration bc of attacks on churches in WB and Gaza. Convenient. You also, when telling Israel to take a leaf out of the Pal book, forget to look at how well Israel integrated its new immigrants, as opposed to surrounding Arab nations who refused to incorporate their (Arab/now Palestinian) refugees or give them rights, unlike Arab minorities who stayed in Israel in 1948. Similarly, in your comment about Palestinian society rooted in the land for centuries, you forget to explain the following facts? Why, in the land referred to as Palestine under the Ottomans and British did the Arabs living in Israel wish to be called Arabs and the Jews called Palestinians (Palestine Post- Jewish only newspaper, to name only one example). If they've been there for centuries, why did they take on the identity of Palestinian only in 1964, with the founding of the PLO. If they have a distinct society/ social identity, why did their leaders as late as 1977 say they did not wish to have their own nation, but rather to incorporate with the Arab ummah? (Also, if the whole problem is about occupation of the PA territories, why was the PLO founded 3 yrs prior to the annexation of the WB or Gaza. Why, at that time, was there no call for a Palestinian homeland in those territories, owned by Jordan and Egypt respectively?) I will concede that there was an Arab presence in the land for centuries, just the way there was a continuous Jewish presence in the land of centuries. Where are your facts to support a socially separate Palestinian group prior to 1964 (which is significantly less than a century ago)?
62. #56 this entity you refer to as "Palestine"
(12.09.06)
is as real as Kubla Khan's "Xanadu" When you have a state someday, you may capitalize "Palestine." Until then, there is only such a thing in your imagination
63. prejudice
Rodrigo Melgarejo ,   Reno, NV   (12.09.06)
eveytime i read these talkbacks. i hear more and more, almost enough to call it, hateful words towards islam/muslims/arabs/jews/israelis/palestine... Israelis say, "Arabs hate eveyone and everything. They kill and murder" Palestinians/arabs/muslims say, "Jews hate everyone and everything." Being a mexican and completely seperated from this constant conflict, let's me see both sides and come to one conclusions. you are all to blame for this conflict. that constant getting pushed and pushing back. Ms. Mustafa is way out of line to stigmatize the arabs as being opposed to accepting sudanese into their worlds. disregard arabs and muslim world, if you plan on accepting jews and israelis. Is that how it goes? You should all be ashemed of your selfs for continuing this fight by hating and disrespecting each other. wether you are a jew or muslim, christian or atheist, brwon, black, yellow, white, pink, (some people are pretty pink sometimes, ) you are all from the same planet, the same god, the same everything. you look different, but thank god for that, otherwise we would all look the same. you separate yourselves by fundamentalist ideas and beliefs. all these extreme fundementalist religious fanatics, all religions, are destroying the world by excluding and hating. it will be the death of us all. It's the worlds problem. all countries, religions, people of teh wordl should unite and help the millions of starving children in the world instead of fighting over, seriously, bullshit. it's the worlds shame. shame on you all.
64. Rodrigo Well said
loulou ,   Israel   (12.09.06)
I completely agree with you. being an outsider myself.......Both sides hate and are racist towards each other.....
65. thank you
Rodrigo Melgarejo ,   Reno, NV USA   (12.09.06)
i am right. as an outsider i can only see the truth. an unbiased truth. Both sides just need to put aside religion and look at themselves as humans. it's the right thing to do, it's the smart thing to do. There is a sense of elitism that comes with being from a large religion like judiasm and islam, and christians too. where they believe they are so right and that everyone else is wrong. it creates a seperation of people. killing, disregarding, hating, excluding, in the name of god is just so ironic and completely out of what i thought god stood for. i don't believe in god nor in any religion, but i stand as a moral, educated, smart, logical, sane human being that onyl looks for truth and a better way to live. yet i am satanic, crazy, and evil because i don't believe. people need to come together more and put aside those ideals and beliefs that seperate us. We are all to blame for Darfur. We are all to blame for war. we are to blame for the conflict in the middle east. we are all to blame for genocide, hunger, famine, death and destruction in this planet. not anyone in particular but all of us. so if we are all in fault, then who would you fight now?
66. STOP SUDAN'S JIHAD SLAVERY and GENOCIDE
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (12.10.06)
Bible, Leviticus 24:17 "If a man takes the life of any human being, he shall surely be put to death" Black Africans are the indigenous people of Sudan and are the majority population. The black Southern Sudanese Christians explain what "peace" means: If you agree to become a Muslim, you will have peace. If you reject Islam, you are at war. From 1955-1973, 1.5 million Christians were slaughtered by the Arab Muslim government in Khartoum. From 1983-2005, two million more Christians died from Khartoum's jihad. Murdering infidels is not considered a crime. Non-Muslim infidels are regarded as not entitled to human rights. Hundreds of thousands of Christians have been raped. Hundreds of thousands of Christian children and women taken for slaves. In the refugee camps, the Islamo-Fascist religious supremacist Khartoum government requires refugees to become Muslims in order to receive food and water. The genocide has resulted in the largest population of refugees on earth since the Second World War. The jihad in Sudan against Darfur's black African Muslims by Khartoum's racist Arab Muslim regime began in 2003. 400,000 black Muslims are dead. STOP Genocide - STOP Slavery - FREE the Slaves http://www.iabolish.org/ Bible, Exodus 21:16 "He who kidnaps a man, whether he sells him or he is found in his possession, shall surely be put to death"
67. #64 re: your assessment of Roderigo's merits
Insider ,   USA   (12.10.06)
I beg to differ with your supposed unbiased claim that both sides are racist towards eachother and that that is the main problem. Of course they are racist towards eachother. They HATE eachother and the reasons are obvious. However, I truly believe that that is completely beside the point. The point is a political solution to the problem and how willing BOTH parties are to resolve those issues. THAT is what will bring peace. Not empty slogans like: "We all worship the same God" (BTW, we do not!) and "Why can't we all just get along?" --because we CAN'T! not until everyone decides to sit down and agree on a POLITICAL SOLUTION and gets serious about compromising. (The Israelis have a MUCH better record of making concessions than the Arabs do, and that is just a fact--I won't go into it here. This is why many Israeli Jews are just completely fed up with the palestinian cause.) As for Roderigo's statements regarding the unfortunate situtation in Darfur, how the HELL does he have the nerve to blame anybody but the ARABS for that one? Talk about bullshit? SHeeesh!

Rodrigo melgarejo ,   Reno, NV USA   (12.10.06)
Of course the solution to fixing this problem is a political one. it's very idealist to think that people will just get along. from your statemnt it only tells me that you are biased, and you take sides. and you blame the arabs for causing darfur? you shoudl blame yourself, because it people like you that want to bring the finger down on someone instead of fixing the situation. the problem is the world's problem, the world's shame. because we saw it happened we've seen it happen and we have done very little to stop it. I blame everyone because we still turn a blind to it and those efforts are weak because it's still going on. my idea to just say, "we are all the same" it just peaceful rhetoric. and the first thing you do is want to fucking bash it. We are all the fucking same. Everyone does preach to the same god, you idiot, he differs in it's origin and ideas, but you really think there is a separate god for everyone, if there really is one. or that your god is the right one and their preaching to some fake one. COME ON!!! it's all fantasy, it's not factual, it can't be proven, and everyone wants to kill each other over who is right and who is wrong. none of you can prove it. It's fucking bullshit! i blame all extreme fundamentalist religious fanatics for all these middle east problems. The israeli's side have done their damage too, don't be blind to that. wether one did it more than the other is absurd. and the palestinians are fed up too, everyone is fed up with this. The israeli people want peace and teh palestinian people want peace. It's all the people who are representing eitehr side and fundamentalist extremists that keep denying peace treaties.
69. #68 you are still full of it
#67's rebuttal ,   USA   (12.10.06)
I am not Jewish, but guess which group of people are doing the most to help the victims of Darfur? AMERICAN JEWS. This is a FACT. I bashed your post because it was full of empty, meaningless rhetoric and diluted slogans. What are YOU doing to help the victims of Darfur? Have you donated thousands of dollars in aid, as my family has? Have you gone there FIVE TIMES to help and raise consciousness, as my sister-in-law (who IS Jewish) has? Don'[t give me any more crap about how I am biased. OF COURSE I AM BIASED. I WAS BIASED AGAINST HITLER AND STALIN TOO!!!! You don't want to take a stand really, and you don't want to admit that what is in human nature is damned ugly. The only solution is detente, not "giving peace a chance" or "love everybody we're all human blah blah blah" POLITICAL SOLUTIONS will bring peace, not pretending that everyone is responsible for other peoples' messes. By your logic, the Amish are responsible for what's happening in Darfur! So here is my question for you, my friend: what have YOU done to solve the middle east crisis? what do YOU plan to do to help people in Darfur, other than just make empty generalizations? Until you analyze the issues and reflect on them, you must stop writing vacuous comments on Ynet, because all of these people have good and compelling reasons to HATE each other, and LOVE is not going to happen until they sit done together and make sacrifices (and YES, I mean the ARABS!! Sorry, I call it as I see it, and yes, it may be biased, but it's also the TRUTH.
70. Just Remember the US...
Maria T ,   Canada   (12.10.06)
During the Freedom Rides, the 1961 non-violent demonstrations aimed at ending racial segregation in the US South, a good number of the marchers were Jewish youth from the North. They suffered violence and even death to defend the rights of their Black brothers. Fast forward a few years and guess who turned out to be the most venomous anti-Semites of all in the US? The Blacks, both those influenced by the growing "Black Muslim" movement as well as regular Christian Blacks, most notably their politicians. They even slandered Jews falsely accusing them of the slave trade. That was a lie. They never mentioned the crucial role that both Black Africans and Arabs had on the African side of the slave trade. If I remember well, Israel itself tried to foster friendship with African countries by means of foreign aid for many years. Where are those friends now? As they say, no good intention goes unpunished.

Rodrigo Melgarejo ,   Reno, NV USA   (12.11.06)
no. you are just a racist. and... giving money to darfur isn't the only solution. not all of us have money to give. what shows more care is going there, either by huge groups/military action. bringing the awareness to others by spreading the word. i don't hav eth emoney to travel there nor to gove but i spread the word to those that might be able to. that's how to battle it. you just sound a little rich bastard that thinks probelms get solved with money. continuing to to blame is doing nothing to help humanitarian crises. peaceful rhetoric and "love one another" beliefs are ridiculous to you because you are full of hate. end of story. money won't help anything but pay what, workers? they don't need money you dumbshit, they need food, health, etc. not eveyrthing is a capitalist government and not everything is solved with green. you are justa racist rich bastard and it's people like you that bring more death and problems to teh world than arabs. you never see a war against rich people do you? against oil industries? against bush? against zionist? against greed? so shut up!!

"The Arabs are involved in what is happening in Sudan in favor of the tyrant regimes …" Well, that explains why the UN's Human Rights Commission has ignored the crises.

DID YOU ASKED YOUR SELF ONCE WHY MUSLIMS DID THIS (ATLEAST SOME OF IT ) BEFORE U ASK THE WORLD TO WATCH THIS MEDIA WAR AGAINST ISLAM FILM. IT HAPPEND TO BE MOST OF THE PEOPLE WHO LIVING IN THE MIDDLE EAST ARE MUSLIMS,PEOPLE WHO BEEN TERRORISED,KILLLED,AND WERE KICKED OUT OF THEIR LAND FOR THE PAST 50 YEARS BU THE WEST AND THE ZIONISTS.SO THE CLOCK STARTED TICKING NOT 5 OR 6 YEARS AGO.U MUST HAVE SHORT MEMORY OR U DONT WANT TO SHOW THE WORLD THE 50 YEARS OF SUFFRING AND TERRORISING THE ARABS.IF IT HAPPEND TO BE ARABS ARE JEWS THEY WILL DO WORST. SO INSTEAD OF SHOWING THE WORLD THE ROOTS OF THE PROBLEMS AND FIX IT PEOPLE IDIOTS LIKE U WANTS TO MAKE MATTERS WORST.

78. What a shame it is
Justin ,   Canada   (03.15.07)
It's such a shame that in our Western media Israel is only mentioned when it can be percieved as "bad" - When Israel does good and great things, it is buried underneath the rug.
