1. Short answer- No
Sarit   (01.02.07)
2. Aaaaaah...Here We Go Folks !!!!
malcolm   (01.02.07)
Like the Hillary Clinton camp, there exists in and outside of Israel the feminist camp that want a woman leader in the Knesset whatever the cost. Our dear author YAEL is trying to indoctrinate us with this insane feminist ideology. She says..."we've had enough," and that Tzipi will "lead us to a situation where the "boys stop."" (How sexist is that?) Meanwhile it is clear what the Prime Minister in waiting is all about. She played a pivotal role in surrendering land to terrrorists in Gaza that cost Israel dearly. Despite the bullshit Yael wrote, on the diplomatic front Livni pre-caved to the French a useless and dangerous "cease fire" that cost Israel her deterrence, gave Hizbollah a green light to re-arm, and leaves two soldiers in captivity without even a Red Cross visit. Great job & a hearty Kol Hakavod Tzip!!! So Yael, is this who you want as your political massiah? Can't you put your knee jerk feminist dreams aside and think about the future of your country that is being whittled away dunam by dunam with the proactive maneuvers of the coy, disarming former real estate lawyer, Livni? I doubt it. But believe it or not, a more dangerous prime minister Israel could not have. She and Olmert have destroyed in less than a year what took 58 years to build.
3. May G-d help Israel, we are so lost
Shiloh ,   Israel   (01.02.07)
4. Longer answer: Yes
enzo ,   london.uk   (01.02.07)
5. Another appeasing delusional fool
Jay ,   Israel   (01.02.07)
Livni is another appeasing fool that thinks only diplomacy works, just like the other moron, Olmert. When will these poliicians learn from the past and realise that arabs only, and i repeat ONLY respect force. Diplomacy will never work in Israels favour. No way would i ever vote for her.
6. livne
sas ,   israel   (01.02.07)
the madame is totally over-rated and we should listen to her and we should send her home. the foreign ministry is in shambles - and she is doing NOTHING. More than 80 people - all part of her permanent staff - are getting paid and have NO jobs. appointing a first time ambassador to Tokyo does not show very much intelligence nor understanding of what her job entitles. LIVNE go home with the other 3 - peretz. ohlmert an halutz. if she becomes PM then I really will leave this country but will insist that my children come too. SAD SAD SAD
7. This a joke, right?
Ari   (01.02.07)
8. Kadima won't survive
josef cohen ,   bkk thailand   (01.02.07)
Kadima won't survive with Olmert at the top. Olmert has come to symbolize the worst of Israel's awful Political establishment where all that matters is survival. The war in Lebanon was a failure of political judgment and a series of bad decisions at the highest level, not operational not failures on the ground. Olmert must bear that responsibility. Without a thorough house cleaning well before new elections to allow new personalities to gain public credibility all hopes for a strong centrist party are going to dissolve like the realignment process they promised to initiate. For consideration, Josef Cohen
9. LIVNI
tom H   (01.02.07)
Yael's article is just utter nonsense. Livni is completely useless, however she is the correct companion for Olmert and Peretz. the 3 wise monkeys: cannot talk cannot hear cannot see
10. Watch the right-wing extremists squeal
David ,   San Francisco   (01.02.07)
Read it right here folks. The extreme rightists are already squealing in agony at the very thought that there might be a popular centrist candidate: "Insane feminist," "even more dangerous than Olmert" and so on. At least she's not a wanted criminal or a cowardly child-beater, like the Right's latest candidates for PM.
11. No! The country turned sharp right and is awaiting elections
redmike ,   tel aviv & london   (01.02.07)
12. wake up israel: the answer is EFFIE EITAM
(01.02.07)
13. Livni is no. 1 Leader of Israel today and the world knows it
Judith in Haifa   (01.02.07)
It has take some Israelis time to see it (including the leftist "Ha'aretz"), but now more and more are beginning to be aware of her leadership quality and wisdom. I've been saying this vehemently since 2005 when she first emerged on the scene in the Gaza withdrawal operation. Her Leadership (and personality) was instantaneous and obvious to me. I know that she will lead Israel toward a better future. We just need to help restrain the barking pit-bulls (military chauvinists) trying to discredit her and make her look week and insignificant. Angela Merkel had to fight the same lot in Germany, but she succeeded and so will Livni. Long live Queen Livni!
14. Yes - why not?
Tomer ,   Hod Hasharon   (01.02.07)
She's a politician who goes beyond the usual pathetic slogans about "no partners" and "red lines". She has a real vision that goes beyond the failed military "bomb the bastards" solutions. She does an excellent job of representing our country on the international stage. So, yes... Livni for PM. But leading which party???
15. #10, so says the left wing extremist from San Francisco
Jenny ,   NYC   (01.02.07)
Everyone who does not care for Livni is not a right-wing extremist. Stop being a typical knee-jerk, San Fran, radical leftist by making ridiculous claims and slandering people b/c their views differ from yours.
16. #4 Enzo London
Sue ,   Here   (01.02.07)
You take her to London instead of Cherie Blah. I'll stay with Sarit who lives in Israel.
17. What A Bad Idea! Forget It.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (01.02.07)
18. Far Left radicals declare Livni a "CENTRIST"
malcolm   (01.02.07)
But Tzip is far from being a "centrist". She is a left leaning power hungry real estate lawyer who fell into her job. The daughter Sharon never had, performs insane, radical, life threatening experiments on her own people. Tzip is a wolf in sheep's clothes as she has sex appeal for some men and many women. She seems shy at times but is deceptively being coy. A straight shooter she is not. She has a radical agenda that is completely destructive to the current and future security of Israel. No wonder she is the new "IT" girl of the radical left.
19. A 'Leader' with no followers
Ben Plonie ,   Galus,Chutz La'Aretz   (01.02.07)
In what sense is she a leader? In that everyone else on the left is worse?
20. What are her successes and accomplishments?
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (01.02.07)
Nothing and nothing.
21. Livnu understands the problems..yet promotes wrong solutions
Getzel ,   Washington D.C.   (01.02.07)
22. She'll be leader of Meretz of course Tomer
Daniel ,   Formerly Israel   (01.02.07)
23. oh how warm and fuzzy
i   (01.02.07)
woman of the moment. Vacuous lefties and mad feminists are having spontaneous orgasms over this one. Just one small problem. There is no diplomacy with rabid dogs who seek only your destruction. Ein emunah bahem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
24. to #10
Mike ,   Atlanta, USA   (01.02.07)
Wanted criminals... sounds like Kadima.
25. Yes, Livni has vision: SO WHAT? SO DO I
Daniel ,   Formerly Israel   (01.02.07)
Just because Livni has a vision, all the people like Tomer who see Israel failing are flocking to her feet. But vision alone doesn't solve the problem She has the same vision that Rabin had, a vision of a peace agreement in which the Palestinians get everything they want and therefore realize what a peaceful nation Israel is and stop attacking. But Livni's vision has failed. It was a beautiful dream, but one that was impossible to begin with and one tat was quickly drowned in the river of blood that followed Oslo. I have a vision too, the vision of Michael Kleiner, and in that vision the Arabs get money, more money than most of them have ever seen in their lives, to start a new life for themselves somewhere else, away from the violence that has plagued them for fifty years. And we get the land for which our forefathers died and we honor them by making that land part of the state that they died defending. And we get peace and strength and security and the oppurtunity to destroy Hamas once and for all. Why don't people gravitate towards Kleiner and his vision as they do towards Livni and hers? Because unlike Livni, who says that all you have to do is sit and watch others suffer, Kleiner says you have to go and fight and struggle and face your enemies and the righteous "international community". He says that you might even have to go to war for your freedom and security, as for all good things in life. For nearly fifteen years we have stuck to Rabin's vision, and it has brought us nothing but blood, defeat, and contempt from the world. Maybe it is time for us to try a new vision?
26. To #15 Jenny and the other liars and distorters
David ,   San Francisco   (01.02.07)
I am so sick of reading all the lies and distortions written here by you people. Calling people who built the State of Israel "traitors," "enemies of Israel" etc. The problem with us Liberals is we're too nice. Well no more. The gloves are off. I'm going to point out your lies and hypocrisy without shame. Case in point: Jenny the Distorter: This is not about "everyone who does not care for Livni." It's about the people here who call someone who's a leader of a center-right party an "insane feminist" and a "leftist." Are you one of those people? And what does San Francisco have to do with it? And who said I'm a radical leftist? (I'm a liberal and pround of it, just like most of the people of New York who elected Hillary Clinton and Charles Schumer). It looks like you're the only knee Jerk.
27. Aside from the Fact she's not a bad piece of ass
Jim   (01.02.07)
There's nothing of note there. Trust me been with better hoes in my garden.....
28. Livnot Will Be PM one Day, I've always thought this
David P ,   USA   (01.02.07)
She called for Arafat's destruction and meant it when she was Education Minister
29. What kind of joke is it?
Amnon ,   Beer Sheva   (01.02.07)
As an article on Ynet pointed out, during the war in Lebanon she was afraid to talk or even make small decisions, always thinking that everyone will be removed after the war and she will jump in. Let say her current job is way above her abilities. Perez is 10 times smarter than Livni, and he is not a bright dude.
30. Livni as well as Olmert
cato the younger ,   USA   (01.02.07)
are both "manchurian candidates." There is no other way to explain their actions at the time of the war in Lebanon last summer and since then.. Israelis must now vote them out of power now...or DIE. That is the choice.-- AIN BRERAH
