61. I know scientology - do you ?
Shmil ,   Israel   (01.20.07)
I know scientology since i was 19 years old. I have a wonderfull wife and I got 3 kids which with the help of scientology are more succesfull in life with thier study and friends. I own a succesfull business and I am noraml as you. I just know things about life that helps me succeed.
62. Scientology makes better life
razi ronen ,   tel aviv israel   (01.20.07)
Ask Scientologist what it is and then you will understand that he will do enything to help you if you will need the help.that's Scientology.Look for yourself,if you miss the good of it ,don't blame others. It can save your life and other's.
63. Don is taking resposibilty for those who needs it!
Jim ,   Montana   (01.20.07)
you should give him a price to make "scoop" out of him! and just so you'll know, the guys in Sientology really help in every strata of socaity and does it good. god bless them
64. promoting human rights. Aren't we becoming paranoids?
Gila ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (01.20.07)
Things will not get better if we sit and do nothing. When the world is going downhill and someone or a few "someones" decides to do something about it they are getting attacked. Because "they must have a hidden motive if they try to help". We do. We want to make the world a place where we can flourish, not worry about the next war, the next disaster. Scientology is all about thinking for yourself not to be affected by black P.R you get from different sources. If that would have been the case in Europe before World War 2, the holocaust might have been prevented. Gila
65. very well done!
(01.20.07)
very well done for all your work !!!! you right if not the kids will take care of their rights who will!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its time that everybody will know that human beings has rights . and it is absolutly your right to take the responsability to show them their rights.
66. Brainwashers
Marlis ,   Frankfurt, Germany   (01.20.07)
Targets of these brainwashers are children und young people nowadays--at least in Western countries.
67. Tali Heruti- what are you doing for mankind?
Dalia Braunstein ,   Clearwater, FL   (01.20.07)
The fact that Scientology is associated with such a project means Scientology can't be a bad thing, don't you see?? And this child has some real courage to fight for something worthy instead of wasting his time with computer games like other teen-agers do!
68. Do you prefer the Muslem way?
Dalia Braunstein ,   Clearwater, FL   (01.20.07)
one more thing... Scientology struggles for a better worls with peacful and pro-survival ways. Do you prefer the Muslem concept of a "better world"? Scientology is the only religion that is actively 'doing something about it' without destroying other lives.
69. what's the matter with you people?
avi ,   Tel Aviv   (01.20.07)
here's this super-initiative teenager acting for human rights. Not busy with computer games, not vandalizing anything, not doing drugs, or anything alike. Just doing something for the sake of others. how many people, young or adult, do you personally know that do that? how in the world can a sane person find fault in that?????
70. ...And human rights can't be promoted without Scientology???
Morris ,   USA, Israel in Feb.   (01.20.07)
Here's a simple test: mentally detach yourself from what you're current reality/situation is and ask: why must I use Scientology to promote the betterment of humanity? What is preventing me from being a good person and doing good works, without the money and time spent on Scientology? I hear there is something called Clear in Scientology. Well, this answer is "Clear:" nothing is preventing you. (Of course, this reasoning can be applied to many things, not just Scientology.)
71. You are a lunatic men!
D ,   USA   (01.20.07)
72. Can't you see?
Me   (01.20.07)
Sceintology is promoting human rights only to promote it's interests as a religion. Later they demand a religious recognition under the "freedom of religion" right. Scientologists. open a dictionary and tell me if yours is a religion. Or that the dictionary does not apply in this case?
73. Scientology made all the difference for me
Eran ,   tel aviv Israel   (01.20.07)
Most wondeful things happend to me while learning and practicing scientology in my life: i fixed a serious problem i had with my girlfriend, got married, "armed" with the most effective tools to handle my familiy life and other surroundings. Also i bettered my health- some gastro problems that simply vannished! and all that within just 2 years of practicing...it is somthing i wish everyone to experience!
74. Funny, all these "success" stories come out of nowhere
Morris ,   USA, Israel in Feb.   (01.20.07)
The overexaggerations and "miracles" of these Scientologists who come out of the woodwork is sickening. You guys should really learn to be a little more subtle about your claims. It is _so_ obvious that these bold allegations are fabricated. You all sound like those late-night television infomercials where you have some man exclaiming how he "made $200,000 in one month, with no money down! And you can do it too! Just act now!" Please... The moral of the story is: trust in Hashem (or whichever God you believe in). Don't trust in a man, let alone a discouraged science fiction writer who founded an organization that demands your VALUABLE time and money.
75. What Don is doing sounds great!
Ella Cohen ,   Petah-Tikva, Israel   (01.20.07)
Actually, if you look, you'll see that there's not one bad thing in this article. The whole story is very positive. I can't find anything wrong here. The only wrong thing is that Elli did not answer the phone. So what? I have to confess that this happens to me sometimes too.... Sometimes I can be busy too and I forget to return calls. Scientology sounds like something really good.
76. I am all for human rights, who cares who promotes them?
Marcos ,   Paris, France   (01.20.07)
Why on this site is there complaints about religion? We all want human rights, WWII went wrong because lack of them. Does it matter who is promoting human rights? I checked the site of this program and the site of scientology. Nothing seems very hidden there. Is someone getting paranoid? While some complain about each other's religions - kids are being put on drugs, tortured, made to sex slaves. Should we not spend our time there?
77. I am a Scientologist
Ozzie Freedom ,   Los Angeles, USA   (01.20.07)
Scientology is helpful to my study and communication with others. Yes, it's a religion but without faith or god or rituals, so I can continue to be Jewish, too! I apply Scientology to my own life and get great results immediately. On every course I took I saw faster and better results than expected, and the money comes back doubled and tripled. Whoever complains about Scientology being a billion dollar industry should try it themselves and see that they only get stronger and more successful - definitely worth it, man. And there's a money-back guarantee on every course. You learn in Scientology how to be more productive and efficient in your life. I have many Jewish American and Jewish Israeli friends who are still Jewish and VERY satisfied with the results they got from their study, so like myself they recommend it to others. visit www.scientology.org to learn more. I think it is a wonderful thing that Scientology is helping youth fight for human rights. Don't let the media fool you - think for yourself what the benefits are for YOU. See videos and more at www.youthforhumanrights.org
78. Defamers of Scientology
Gil Shai ,   Givataim   (01.20.07)
You are of the same breed of people that half a century ago wrote that Jews make bread using the blood of Christian babies. You don't have a clue. I am an active Scientologist for 8 years and a Jew for 35 years and in the 8 years I have seen Scientologists do far more good than I've seen my fellow Jews in the 35 years.
79. A WONDERFUL GESTURE!
hagit ,   TELAVIV   (01.20.07)
IT IS A WONDERFUL GESTURE TO PROMOTE HUMAN RIGHTS AND ALL THAT ARE INVOLVED ARE BLESSED!!! KEEP ON GOING!
80. Wait - who speaks about religion here?
Claude ,   Cosne, France   (01.20.07)
Aren't we meant to tolerate others? Antisemitism is a crime, why not anti-scientolgy or anti-any other religion. Let us focus on the real problems!
81. International Youth for Human Rights
Judith Cutler ,   Los Angeles, Ca. USA   (01.20.07)
I'm a Jewish American who is very familiar with the "Youth for Human Rights" organization. It is a very much needed activity in my view. It was written by Eleanor Roosevelt and adopted by the U.N. after WW II to establish and preserve human rights for people worldwide following the atrocities committed against human rights for so many during the Third Reich. It then got abandoned up until recently when the Scientologists took the initiative and responsibility during these troubled times to ensure that it be known and re-established by people all over the world, especially our children. In my experience, it is nothing to be skeptical of or threatened by, but instead embraced and forwarded...It goes a long way to insure the rights of all people across the world and prevents governments and fanatical groups from being able to persecute peoples whom they deem unpopular or "unfit" by means of some oppressive standard or for vested interest purposes. I urge you to see this for the contribution that it is and support it...I believe that the world needs this information, now more than ever and governments need to be accountable to this doctrine.
82. Worth Reading
Zz   (01.20.07)
This article is full of inaccuracies- the writer has NOT done his homework. Here's the straight dope, a bit of it anyway. Scientology is a litigious, paramilitary quasi-fascist business, a brainwashing cult of psycho-terror. Practitioners comparing the Scientology Experience to any normal (yes there is such a thing) religion are living in great denial. And likening themselves to Jews being persecuted during the Nazi era, is absolutely cynical and disgusting. In numerus cases, scientologists are urged (and coersed) by their military superiors, to write/phone the press or net over and over again in order to give an impression of some vast following, which of course does not really exist- the supposed 8 million followers they claim? 200,000 at the most would be more likely. Still, they are extremely dangerous due to a combination of factors: For starters, the cult has accumulated immense (read: immense) wealth and it plans to use it specifically against you. The web is full of fascinating and actually accurate (!) info about this most lying of cults- and guess what- that info is NOT to be found within the cult's own propaganda sites; Most scientologists don't know jack about the real history and facts regarding their group or dead paranoid Leader. Not only are they convinced that all critical writings about Scn. are part of a Cosmic Conspiracy trillions (thats right!) of years old, they actually are not allowed to come in any contact with the evil originators of said criticism- the SP's- (that's short for "Suppresive Person")- the "anti social personality", best recognized by the mere fact that he or she are in "this lifetime" anti-Scientology. Scientologists that do communicate with an SP are dealt with by the "Ethics officer" or "Master at arms" , are "handled" at their OWN expense by a self created "Justice System" that would make any decent person's skin crawl, and could face ex-communication by the "Church", their own family and (former) buddies. Worse, that would be for them the equivalent of banishment from any chance of spiritual freedom. One should be aware of the belief system they espouse. In their unbelievably high priced (How about $1000 per hour?) "services", the (at one time) secretive higher levels, and in his over-the-counter Scientology books and tape recordings- Hubbard talks about aliens and "galactic civilizations" constantly- he gets into great detail about the subject. It's ludicrous. The sheer quantity and depth of the idiocy found in Hubbard's writing is way beyond the scope of this letter. The net provides ample examples and proof to anybody but a brainwashed fanatic. All (new) scientologists are lied to by their "more advanced" colleagues regarding this and other ridiculous "scientific" claims, and are led to believe that they can for the time being, avoid making a personal decision about the subject. This goes on until they too have been brainwashed, at which point they will treat the totality of L.R.Hubbard's writing and opinions as absolute truth, NO ifs and buts. Any scientologist saying otherwise is lying: Inside him he knows the truth- NO ONE may go up the "Bridge To Total Freedom" with any other opinions than those of whom they call: "Source", Hubbard, "The Commodore". The True Believer lies to himself too, but that is what being brainwashed is all about, and where the biggest betrayal takes form. Do you suppose I would have wasted my time writing this letter had I (and thousands of others who HAVE BEEN THERE) not felt very strongly about this? Just hope your that your own kids don't fall into such a scam. Thanks. By someone who is too scared to sign his name. (Like so many others.)
83. Response to Malcolm
z, zirinsky ,   la, ca   (01.20.07)
As far as I know, 13 years old according to the Jewish law is an adult. Whom have to loose if an organization with noble causes is allowed to spring into life. Who are so blinded by dogmatics that are unwilling to look into facts and altimate truth?
84. To all Scientologists here:
Jayzee ,   World Citizen   (01.20.07)
I am glad you are here, besides all the good that Don is doing, maybe you can help me with something. I think there is a thetan wedged in the engine of my car. Obviously it's running roughly. If one of you could zip on over and remove him, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in adavance.
85. # 31-- the State's character is already changing
Patti ,   Los Angeles   (01.20.07)
Morris, are you asleep? The Jewish "character" would have to be completely trampled to leave Israel, but the Jewish religion had very little to do with the founding of the State to begin with, aside from the claiming of it. Personally, I believe that's part of the problem and why Israel is in real danger. Mostly aetheists or people barely aware of G-d and H-s laws founded the State and continue to live there and have kids there. You're going to tell me that there's anything Jewish about (attempted) weekend-long parading for gay rights in Jerusalem, of all places???? Israel must be the most beautiful, vital, wonderful place on earth. I have been in Central and South America, Europe and all over the US and nothing, nothing, NOTHING compares to Israel, which is where I was for two weeks a couple of months ago. I wholeheartedly insist that if Scientology doesn't get into Israel in a big way, not only will the Jewish character be completely defeated but the State won't have much time left, period. (See my post addressing # 5-- should have been # 25-- entitled "the real story about Scientology and Judaism.")
86. Scientology
Kate Howson ,   USA   (01.21.07)
I have many Israeli friends and we are all practicing Scientologists, along with being Catholic, Jewish, or whatever we choose. Before being judgemental, why not read the works of L. Ron Hubbard regarding Scientology instead of listening to alarming reports from scared and ignorant persons? Find out for yourself. Kate
87. Youth For Human Rights
Dolly ,   Tujunga, USA   (01.21.07)
Tali Heruti-Sover, the writer of this article, seems to have his own "slant" on the Youth For Human Rights movement. He keeps hinting at some sort of subtrafuge, something wrong, trying to find a way to turn the readers against it, when all that is really happening here is a church, which he obviously is predjudiced against, is just giving its support to a very courageous young man who stands before the world and the Israeli people and asks them and other governments to follow the UN declaration. For the life of me I cannot find fault with that. Shame on you, Tali Heruti-Sover for trying to knock down such a noble endeavor and attacking a 13 year old boy with good intentions. Maybe you should READ the declaration, created, incidentally, by the UN in an effort to stop future horrors of the kind that happened so easily to the the Jewish people in WWII, and what continues to happen to innocent people even today in the many places in the world that care little for human rights. This Youth for Human Rights gets my support no matter what church supports it, and maybe a whole lot of other churches and individuals should support it, too!

Dolly ,   Tujunga, USA   (01.21.07)
You are obviously slandering Scientology by calling them a "bunch of nutters". What is your religious preference? Do you think other people should call them "nutters" because you don't like them or don't agree with them? This is just what the Declaration of Human Rights addresses. You can believe what you want because you live in a free society founded on religious freedom. But you don't have the right to senselessly attack that which you don't believe in.
89. Youth For Human Rights and Scientology
Dolly ,   Tujunga, CA, USA   (01.21.07)
I am neither very rich, nor very stupid. If your comment were true, it being a "very stupid" comment, Scientology would be for you! Maybe you should take up gambling...
