1. Netanyahu, go retire in East Hamptons...
Hani   (01.21.07)
Your're getting real older, along with your fascit ideas and politics.
2. Go Bibi!! Tell it like it is.
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (01.21.07)
But let's change that "potential victims" to "potential targets." Who wants to be a victim, especially of that Iranian asshat???
3. What took you so Long Netanyahu ?
Marcel ,   Florida   (01.21.07)
Israel is more concerned with pleasing it's slave master America than securing it's people and nation. Netanyahu like Olmert Sharon ,barak are all weak puppets who serve a foreign power and not Israel. Get rid of the idol worshipers and find a leader with real faith in Hashem ,Israel !
4. HAMAS AND FATAH ARE TERROR GROUPS. BIBI U ARE WRONG AGAIN
Ron   (01.21.07)
5. Peaceful relationships
Libneniyyeh ,   Lebanon   (01.21.07)
for such a leader as your precious "Bibi" entail wiping out the Palestinian community or driving them into the desert. Look at the language he is using, 'bring them [Hamas] down", allow "moderate forces", expose the Iranian regime's "ugliness" Is this the kind of leader you want? He is only usning Bush's language. Go check how much money Israel pays for media representation and compare with Arab expenses - Israel pays millions more. As yourselves why. I see only a bloodthirsty man itching to make himself appear as a hero so he can make a name for himself in Israeli history books.
6. Too Much Talk, Too Little Action
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (01.21.07)
There is nothing left to say. Those who haven't figured it out yet, never will. Only a sustained preemptive military strike on Iran will work. The Ayatollahs are very afraid that they will be overthrown because of their total failure to bring Iranians a better life. Isolation & sanctions will make them more desparate & more dangerous. It will make them even more eager for some kind of crazy "victory" . They may be driven by lunatic religious beliefs but even madmen can realize the price they will pay for failure. Military action is the only way to stop them & if no one else will do it, then we have to go it alone. Do not doubt for a minute that we will be their first target.
7. Forget Peace & Neighborly Relations.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (01.21.07)
Hamas or Fatah, it matters very little. We shouldn't have anything to do with either except militarily. We will never have peace with the Palestinians, not in the next hundred years. The word "peace" should be eliminated from our political vocabulary. Trying for peace has brought us nothing but more terrorism. It is delusional to call Abbas a moderate. Even if he were a moderate & not the leader of a band of thieves, thugs, & gangsters, what do you expect him to deliver? What has he achieved? A disunity gov't with Hamas? A stop to Kassam fire? The return of Gilad Shalit? The inept & useless Abbas is a total failure & this is who we should count on to further "peace". Who's kidding who in this farce?

here we go again, you and i trying to go at it again. yes, his wording may seem severe to you, but no one can call bibi stupid or a dreamer as olmert and our present government is. bibi is a realist and bases his rhetoric on political and historical incidences and events that have taught him what is good and safe for israel. he's a military man as well with broad experience not only in politics. bibi, yes, has a chip on his shoulder. his brother was killed by terrorists in uganda during a terrorist hijcking of a plane. yoni netanyahu was a hero who then liberated the passangers, jews and israelis of that flight and died in the process. the mission was a success, thuogh. that aside, and theshoulder chip aside, he talks the talk and is willing to dance the dance. he knows arab terrorism and what israel needs to do to keep safe. i like him because he KNOWS what is going on! and he's a very strong leader which israel needs right now.....i wish for the golda meir and moshe dayan era!!!!

hani......older but better. does he scare you? is he going to fight tooth and nail your so called brothers and sisters and stop them from killing jews everywhere they are? yes he just might. you people understand fear. you have no concept of how to deal intelligently with politics or negotiations.
10. Bibi is the leader Israel needs now
Richard ,   USA   (01.21.07)
Bibi is dealing with reality like Kadima and its corrupt and inept leaders have not and can not. Unlike Olmert, Bibi will do what he says and if he acts militarily he will win quickly and decisively. The arabs know this and if Bibi leads, we have the best chance of avoiding the war that otherwise must be fought.

Hani   (01.21.07)
"you people understand fear" Every human being understands fear, so what's your point? My guess is that you were implying that my people are scared and are fearful people when confronting their ennemies. But the last time I checked a vast number of them strapped themselves with explosive belts and pressed the button. Others pursue peaceful tactics like standing firm right in front of your bulldozers. In contrast to the above, thousands of your people fled to Eilat at the news of katyushas landing behind the hill. Tell me who's scared?
12. #11, Hani - The differences between our 2 people
Allan ,   US   (01.21.07)
are as stark as the choices of life or death. Whereas, we, the Jews, chose life and as a result evacuated the attacked areas only to return and fight another day, your people, the terrorist Jihadists, chose death. Though it takes cetain bravery to strap on a homocide belt, detonating it amongst innocents is nothing short of cowardice. Be that as it may, you will eventually run out of people willing to kill themselves in the name of a misguided policy, we, the Jews, will remain here and will thrive as we have for mellenia.
13. Notice how #11 praises suicide bombers as brave
discerning reader ,   Israel   (01.21.07)
"You were implying that my people are scared and are fearful people when confronting their ennemies. But the last time I checked a vast number of them strapped themselves with explosive belts and pressed the button...Tell me who's scared?" Hani, perhaps the reason that Netanyahu has to take a hard party line is because people such as yourself continue to think positively about terrorists who detonate themselves in internationally uncontested Israeli land (such as Tel Aviv and Netanya) with the DELIBERATE AIM OF KILLING UNARMED CIVILIANS. Perhaps when such groups of people become enlightened enough to think of suicide bombings as psychotic and murderous, rather than as brave, then leaders like Netanyahu will be able to allow themselves to be a little less hawkish. Until that day, it seems that doves will get nothing for their pains other than getting themselves blown up.

"about terrorists who detonate themselves in internationally uncontested Israeli land (such as Tel Aviv and Netanya)" Here is where you make an error in your reasoning. You assume that Hani would agree with you that Tel Aviv and Netanya are quintisentially Israeli, but in his/her view ALL of Israel is 'illegal' and therefore its all legitimate 'resistance'. It's this skewed viewpoint that they expect YOU to understand, as ridiculous as that is. As for the deliberate killing, somehow in his/her warped mind this makes sense. That being the case, I guess they wouldn't mind if someone hacked them and their family apart with an axe to legitimately resist their resistance. A ridiculous example, but this is that goes on in his/her mind. Seriously, instead of these 1/2 measures, its going to take another war to settle this and impose terms on the Arabs. I am not rallying for war, but I fail to see what else will the Fakestinians out of fantasy land to forge an actual peace with Israel instead of BS hudna offers and low level resistance. I'm with you, brother (or sister) :)

18. #5 - if we examine language, we see Bibi makes distinctions
NL ,   Israel   (01.21.07)
Let's examine the statements that you claim denote a bloodthirsty man. Foremost, let's look at "bring HAMAS down." In contrast to Hamas itself, who holds a grudge against ALL Israelis, and, in fact, states in its charter that the Jewish essence of Israel is the reason that it must be destroyed, (implying a generalized hatred for Jews, as well), Bibi wants to take down a particularly violent group AMONG the Palestinian people. Unlike Hamas, who want to destroy the other side indiscriminately because of their ethnicity, Bibi wants to get rid of Hamas because of their ACTIONS (actions that you neglect to mention purposely endanger Israel). For some reason, you also delegitimize Bibi's use of the word "moderate" factions. However, if we analyze this, it actually suggests that - in stark contrast to the dehumanizing way in which Hamas consistently lumps all Israelis together - Bibi acknowledges and distinguishes between the various facets and mindsets within the Palestinian community. Again, he condemns a GROUP for their ACTIONS. He does not suggest annihilating an entire community indiscriminately. Likewise, wanting to expose the 'ugliness' of the Iranian regime (note: once again, the regime, NOT Iranians as a whole) is not bloodthirsty. Many Iranians themselves have been trying to draw the attention of the int'l community to the ugliness of the Iranian regime. Frankly, it's not that surprising given that the regime has a penchant for stoning women to death for 'promiscuity' (aka premarital sex and/or rape) and logged more executions of children in 2006 than did any other nation in the world. Empirically, that's pretty ugly. Also, please provide evidence for your assertion about Israeli vs. Arab media spending. Be advised, the Israeli media campaign was launched recently, in response to an ongoing Palestinian media campaign that began about a decade earlier, suggesting that it is the Palestinians/Arabs, not the Israelis, who are more invested in media representation. Additionally, please note that in Israel, the media is not required to conform to the government party line; in fact, it often criticizes the gov't and its policy (something NOT seen in Arab nations, where critical journalists are usually punished). Therefore, large media spending in Israel does not ipso facto denote pro-government spin in the same way that it generally does in Arab nations.

Don't you realize your notion that "the only language Arabs understand is force" has been supported and acted upon for years and has only brought about more terrorism and unsettlement in the Middle East? Don't you realize that is not the solution? The majority of Arabs are silent because they do not see any major and SINCERE efforts on behalf of the Israeli/US lobby at establishing proper communication and really trying to achieve peace. I am talking about completely FAIR AND UNCONDITIONAL negotiations, not half-hearted SHOWS of peace talks, where Palestinians are treated like 5th class citizens. I see that a lot of fundamentalist groups are trying to lash out blindly at an ambigious force that seeks to oppress them. They can't put their finger on whatever force it is that oppresses them, demonizes them. So they are trying to lash out at US foreign policy in the middle east - and often times their methods are hideous and propelled by ignorance and charged emotions, and often supported by satanic leaders who use cowardice and cunning. We love our children (and Im sure I will get the: "oh, how do Arabs love their children when they use them as human shields?" parrot-speak shortly). We don't want war. But we have grown so used to war. Ask Arab people what they want. And listen to them. And I am not referring to corrupt Arab leaders who seek to fill their pockets and gain power. I am talking about the billions of people who are sick to death of this quagmire that they have been shoved into against their will.

what you are saying is decent and intelligent. however, please do not forget that the palestinians have never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity, so to speak. in january 2001, clinton, arafat, prince bandar with egypt's and saudi arabia cover as well as barak of israel got together at the taba peace negotiations in capm david. prince bandar picked up arafat and told him about barak's very generous proposal. namely: 1. 97# of all occupied terriroties back 2. the old city of jerusalem except for the jewish and armenian quarters 3. 50 billion u.s. dollars in compensation for the refugees. bandar, knowing the barak proposal warned arafat that this is the best he'll ever get...everything the palestinians want to create a state in peace and harmony with their israeli neighbors. evn though saudi arabia and egypt backed arafat, arafat walked out of the deal not offering any other counter proposals and ammendments. nothing. he rejected it outright even though he promised bandar after looking at the deal that if saudia arabia and egypt back him, he'll take this deal. he walked out!!!! period....and started the second intifada when he came back home to gaza. prince bandar had this to say on record..."i still have not recovered to be honest with you, inside, from the magnitude of this missed opportunity (by arafat) that january". do you still believe that israel didn't want to accomodate the palestinians with a peac e deal???? their leader refused, as any other leaders before him and as any other leadrfes after him. the reason being that most of these leaders make money from the palis cause and get rich in the process, not giving a shit about the conditions under which their population lives. we offered peace and it was always followed by more terror and intifadas. you say..."ask arab people what they want and then listen to them" yes, we are trying. we are trying to tell them hammas is not the regime that will solve their problems but exhacerbate it. but they say they elected this regime democratically. yes they did. they chose it and look what happened! the regime doesn't want peace. it wants all of palestine through jihad, murder and kassams. if the palestinians continue choosing leaders that are using them, robbing them, opressing them, instilling jew/israeli hate in them and in their mosques and schools, etc.... how can israel fight this. you tell me! let's face it, sir, palestinians have been denied a statehood by their own leaders who have constantly rejected time and again offers that would have led to a statehood.
30. Call Iran's bluff - with peace
McLoughlin ,   Ottawa, Canada   (01.22.07)
Netanyahu and Avigdor are the biggest threats to Israel's security - not Ahmadinajad. Racist eretz worshippers who do not hesitate to kill and openly espouse ethnic cleansing; they contribute to the lies told about Ahmadinajad who argues for the abolishing of the State of Israel, particularly from Jerusalem. There is a crucial distinction between a State and a people, and it is the racist state with its oppression of Palestinians that Iran protests the most. Should Ahmadinajad make such bald, undiplomatic threatening assertions? No. They do not help, they hinder. He is no diplomat. The Ayatollah tryng to back his country away from possible annihilation would not be much of a surprise. Iran has been under threat before, and interfered with in matters of state. If Iran is pursuing nukes, consider that weak states may feel they have little choice in order to protect their resources and their sovereignty. As for suicide bombers, this is a tactic that has been used in Jewish history, too. Quit this slow-motion genocide of the Palestinians. Declare the willingness for solid negotiations and dealings today. Your leaders are party to the concentration camp genocide of Gaza unfolding right now. And Iran, and other Muslim states around the world see and it is causing great distress and turmoil. If Iran suffers nuclear holocaust, as is threatened, Israel will be in large measure responsible.
