The USSR was dissolved but the countries where these individuals came from still exist, that's the good part. There are loopholes everywhere and it's a matter of getting a good lawyer to find them. One alternative is to persuade them by means of a compensatory fund. The government would not have to pay but the money can be raised somehow. Many of those people are not wealthy. Others have criminal records. They cost money in welfare and legal expenses anyway and maybe the government gets to help at some stage of the process. The main point is not to be discouraged by obstacles you find in the way. There are many angles to look at when trying to find an answer. If it gets too unmanageable, handle one part of the problem at the time. For example, address the case of poor Russians first. They could be assisted to return home and then be given enough money to reestablish themselves there. Another group could be the young and unhappy. This is the most important group, it seems, for it's the most vulnerable to act on their racism. They will marry among themselves and produce a bigger crop of anti-Semites. No good. Then there's the people charged for criminal acts, and they could be persuaded to either go home or to do long prison sentences in Israel.

63. Christian Russians are not the problem
Shir ,   Helsinki, Finland   (02.19.07)
A lot of bad things come from Russia, such as communism. And they have chosen bad leaders, one after another. But still, I have to say, some of the nicest people I have met in this country, have been Russians. They´re social, talkative, very tolerant and nice people. I have learned to appreciate them. I have got much more of a problem with Polish and Russian Jews. Among them, are people, who do not resemble jews, outwardly or otherwise. Like one time, when I was sitting in a cafe with some friends, a woman approached us, and asked me, whether I was a Jew. The same woman had been calling my friend of Italian origin a "negro", because he has got a medium skin tone. She was drunk and when replied her question by telling I was, she started explaining her own background as a descendant of Polish Holocaust Jews. Then the drunken aggressive woman showed scars in her wrists and described her life in a Turkish prison. This was just one of the incidents in which I really had to be ashamed. I don´t want to be connected to people like that. Some Russian and Polish jews are embarrasing all jews. So I have got more of a problem with a part of Eastern European Jews, than with common Christian Russians.
64. no need to deport them
Shir ,   Helsinki, Finland   (02.19.07)
I don´t think non-jewish Russians should be deported. Russians are good workers and Israel should make an effort trying to integrate them into the society. If Israel starts to deport non-jewish Russians, then all the non-jewish people might be deported just as well. It´s a positive thing, there are Christian/catholic/orthodox minorities in Israel, cause there are Muslim minorities as well. It brings balance.

Israel a Jewish country and it does not require goyim for demographic balance and it does not require Arabs. They have other countries where they can offer their talents and contributions, not Israel. Those non Jewish or barely-Jewish Russians you love so much have kids and pals that are burning Israeli flags, painting swasticas everywhere, and shouting their hatred of Jews. Those Russians don't want to be Jews, or Israelis. They came to Israel for economic reasons. If Israel ever becomes 51% non Jew, or a mix of Arab, non Jew and ultra-Leftists, there is a good chance that they will make life so hard on real Jews that they will have to leave. That 51% is a given, considering the Arab demographic growth. It's just a matter of a couple of generations, at the most. I've been reading your postings and you seem to form your opinions on your friendships and acquaintances rather than on thoughtful analysis. That poor old Polish woman was probably quite senile. Give her a break.
66. oh well
Shir ,   Helsinki, Finland   (02.20.07)
"Those Russians don't want to be Jews, or Israelis" I don´t want them to be jews either, and it´s not even possible, because they´re not ethnically jews. They are Christians, and since Israel already has a Muslim minority, it brings balance, that there is also a Christian minority. A In Israel there are about million Russians, of which a vast majority are Russian Jews. Christian Russians are not a demographic threat to jews. A part of them are probably bitter, because they haven´t integrated into the society and I am sure they face racism in israeli society. Israel is a tough country to live in, for non-jews. Do you people honestly think that Israel would deport those people, and take a risk of being labeled as racist state? Helping the Russians to integrate will solve the problem, eventually. And I know for a fact that Israel has some issues with Eastern European jews as well. "you seem to form your opinions on your friendships and acquaintances rather than on thoughtful analysis. " Since I look foreigner myself, foreigners and immigrants often approach me, come talk to me and my circle of friends consists of immigrants as well as finns . And when you keep getting negative impressions, negative experiences from certain groups of people, such russian jews, you start thinking, is this coincidental. Is it a coincidence that most of the jews that turned against Israel (during Lebanon war), and participated anti-Israel demonstraitions on the streets were Russian Jews. I am interested in facts, but my english skills may not yet be adequate for me to justify my opinions by showing actual facts in every single subject.
