91. Idiots # 1, 2 and others:
Michael Steiner   (03.27.07)
I seem to recall an article on this very site not that long ago concerning this very issue. It was reported that the sanitation project would be underway soon and racist, fascist morons like you started screaming how you didn't want Palestinian effluent going into the Mediterranean. Why don't you insensitive bastards just shut the hell up and for once show some compassion. What did the poor people from that village ever do to you?!?
92. It was the Mossad.
Alan ,   SA   (03.27.07)
93. IF THIS HAPPENED IN ISRAEL.......
Alex ,   Beersheva   (03.27.07)
the pals would be praising Allah, it happens in Gaza and they blame Israel
94. As terrible as it is.......Steiner......
Yaakov ,   Yesha   (03.27.07)

95. Grow up and don't blame others for your mistakes!!!
Historical Observer ,   USA   (03.27.07)
Arabs have used the Israeli scapegoat excuse throughout history and yet they still haven't figured out that they are wrong. It's time for chance, it's time them to blame the leaders of another arab country where they belong for their problems.... GO BACK TO JORDAN!!
96. The word "hatemonger" gives me the douche chills.
Bentile ,   Oosa   (03.27.07)
97. The UN had warned about it 2 years ago
Judith ,   USA   (03.27.07)
"a 2004 United Nations report warned that the sewage facility was at its maximum capacity and flooding was inevitable unless a new waste treatment plant was constructed. "since the report was published, international funding for a new plant had been secured but construction had not been able to go ahead because of the high security risks in the area. Palestinian militants routinely fire rockets at Israel from the dunes near the plant and Israel responds with artillery fire. "The Israel Defense Forces offered humanitarian assistance to help clean up the spill. There was no word on whether the offer had been accepted." The above report is from Haaretz and I found it surprisingly balanced and restrained.
98. the Arabs blame us for everything
rht ,   Jerusalem   (03.27.07)
The Arabs blame the Jews (Christians if there are no Jews around) for all of their own problems. Maybe if they would not spend all their money (actually it is money given to them, hey have none of their "own") on arms and use all of their best pipes for missels this would no have happened. Arafat, Yimach Shimo, stole enough to build everyone in Gaza a private house with its own sewage system, maybe they should ask his "wife" for some money to make repairs.
99. TO 5
CAROL ,   EILAT   (03.27.07)
JUSY MAYBE THERE BUILDING ANOTHER TUNNEL YOU SHOULD THINK ABOUT IT THEY CANT BE TRUSTED TO WORK WITH CONSTRUCTION AND SECOND MAYBE THERE BEING PUNISHED BY SOMEONE HIGHER ABOVE
100. Chill Steiner #91, I’m on your side, mostly
Boaz ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (03.27.07)
Don’t generalize and don’t jump to conclusions. I have never said anything against such civilian projects. As a matter of fact I’m all for them. I rarely take part in talkbacks anyways. As for compassion, you are right there. But remember, as Israelis we are not outsiders to this story, we are at its other end. The money that did not went to prevent this went into weapons and ammunition to murder our children. And when we know that we tend to relive those murders a bit, that fear for the lives of our loved ones. And Michael, I was not attacking them, only the PA. But you are right about compassion, and next time I’ll do that – the only sad thing is – there is definitely going to be a next time. That is why the compassion sometimes takes a back sit. It is predictable, we’ve been there, and the helplessness we feel smothers the emotions.
101. Everything looks normal to me....
DJ Sac ,   Sacramento, NJ   (03.27.07)
Just another day of living in filth.
102. # 24 Takan
Mina ,   India   (03.27.07)
Yeah some countries bowed down to USA, in order to get more supplies and to protect them....yes i mean Israel,,,,,So Palestian don't want to bow down to USA>>>>>got it???? they will rather suffer than to bow down to murderes
103. TO 91

ITS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME
104. 60
CAROL ,   ATIAS   (03.27.07)
I WAS THINKING THE SAME
105. Silly children...
Eric ,   Israel   (03.27.07)
The reason this happened isn't because of international pressure or because of Israel. The reason this happened is because instead of smuggling sewage pipes in through the tunnels they smuggle bombs...so, ha. Smuggle the important things next time. For the record, I usually think Israel is out of line and quite hypocritical but the palestinians are just being dumb, ignorant, and transparent.
106. Sewage Tsunami
Brod ,   USA   (03.27.07)
The Arab Islamist-Jihadists spent millions of dollars buying, bombs, rockets, guns and RPGs to kill Jews. If they have spent the money to improve their sewage system and their society as nation builders, there won't be such problem. The price they pay for hatred, belligerence, violence and wallowing in the cesspool of their evil ideology of Jihadism is being hit by a sewage Tsunami. This will trigger an epidemic of diseases and other social problems.
107. A perfect example for the World
Kevin ,   Houston   (03.27.07)
"You Reap what you Sow"
108. tit for tat
hanina   (03.27.07)
crap for crap
109. # 102 Now just hold on there a minute.
jan ,   usa   (03.27.07)
And yet you and your country have no problem taking the aid that the US gives to your country free of charge. And we the tax payers have not yet complained that a selfish arrogant thankless person such as yourself has not thanked us, but has only showed their thanks by berating us. So when Pakistan bombs the heck out of your country, please don't look the the US tax payers to bail your sorry ass out. You truly are unthankful, unholy.
110. jews blame abrabs for blaming them?
colleen ,   seattle   (03.27.07)
This is so petty; you don't want to help them because you think they blame you. What kind of an attitude is that? People are dying and will continue to die if you refuse to get beyond hurling insults at eachother.
111. Read your Country's news
Kevin ,   Houston   (03.27.07)
Several Indian states have introduced laws against forced conversion, but these are wide open to abuse. Christians face most pressure in rural areas, where militants have destroyed churches and threatened, attacked and killed church leaders. Torturing church members, especially leaders, and handling them without mercy Torturing Christians into falsely confessing to crimes, or torturing them to make false accusations against other communities Torturing Christians in an attempt to have them renounce their faith The destruction of buildings used for worship or prayer meetings The confiscation of Bibles and other religious materials The beating of Christians by police and government officials What say you
112. YUCK-O
(03.27.07)
113. #89 How do you know this guy "saved people"?
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (03.27.07)
This guy's clothes are spotless and his hair is perfect. This is a photo op, just as was observed with "Green Helmet Man" in Lebanon. This is not rescue operations, this is photo ops, which is disgusting any way you look at it.
114. To Colleen
Chip ,   PA   (03.27.07)
You're embarrassing yourself, please stop. Israelis are not reticent to help Palestinian villagers in a "hot zone" based upon hurt feelings and recriminations; this is all so grammar school. Israel is reticent (and rightly so) to help based upon Palestinian intransigence on the issue of Israeli “legitimacy”, an irreconcilable border dispute, animosity over a war fought decades ago and hundreds if not thousands of market bombings, airport terminal gun downs, indiscriminate rocket firings, bus explosions, kidnappings and a the banal righteous politicization of “the Palestinian cause."
115. If the pals can't take care of a sewage system...
(03.27.07)
How are they going to be able to take care of other parts of Israel they want. I mean, if you can't be a good steward of a sewage system, how can you take care of electrical, and water plants? How are you going to take care of roads and hospitals and schools? Truly hamas has shown what little intellengence they have. All they want is the title deed to Israel, and not take any ownership in the country. But it is only the Jews that have a title deed to the land. No one else on earth has that unique opportunity. And no one else will.
116. # 24 Stop the non sense
Mark   (03.27.07)
Every time you come up with this "Palestinians focusing on terror". Did you or ynet crap people who highlight you post ask yourselves who much is spent on Israel "defense” I forgot it is not you who is paying for it. It is the poor American tax payer. Plus every infrastructure that is built is torn down by your "defense" activities. Not to mention that with the title "defense" you block all aids to develop the infrastructure.
117. Umm Naser (Kassam City)
Mike ,   EU   (03.27.07)
Isn't that where Paletinian gunmen fire rockets at Israel from? Time for the Pals to take responsibility for themselves & stop blaming the world for their woes.
118. They reap what they sow....
NS ,   Heartland USA   (03.28.07)
As far back as January 2004, UN aid agencies in the Gaza Strip had warned that the north Gaza sewage treatment facility was operating far beyond its capacity and posed a grave danger to nearby residents. Designed to serve just 50,000 people, the plant at that time was handling waste from 190,000 Gaza residents.
119. So sad
(03.28.07)
May they rest in peace
120. #116 and 102
Takan ,   Elat   (03.28.07)
First of all i have no idea why my post is highlighted. I can only suppose it has been recommended a dew times. Second of all, you are right. Israel is spending a lot of money on defense. After reading the history of Israel, and the many wars endured, that is only a logical outcome. Despite all the defense spending, Israel manages to grow and flourish as a 21st century civilised democracy. If you worry about American money, then try to check how all the $ donated to the PA was spent. Come to Tel-Aviv or Elat and see how Israelis live and cope together despite constant war. See the children playing in parks and art at every street corner. If being friendly to the US is bowing, Mina, then you must have a pathetic social life. And if suffering is better then having friends, you must be a scary woman to know.
