2. Should we do the same?
Takan ,   Eilat   (04.26.07)
Tell the world what it wants to hear but do as you wish in your own backyard. Diplomacy is a tool for them, not a virtue. Lying, cheating and deceiving are the main cards at hand. Let's blow Palestine to pieces tonight than we'll find a diplomatic trick to get out of it. As long as they call it a war, we have to play to win, not to keep it a slow bleeding process.
3. What, they've not heard of suicide bombers before now?
Talula ,   Israel   (04.26.07)
That's funny. It also shows what kind of savages they are when they make comments such as '"It was a very happy day for us Palestinians to hear nine American dogs were killed in Iraq". The Palestinians are hated throughout the world, they are not doing anything, or indeed saying or doing anything to sway opinion. Keep it up people, because soon you will cease to exist.
4. Incorrect
Abdel ,   Nablus, Palestine   (04.26.07)
There is nothing accurate about this article, first i really don't understand how Ynet always quotes the Aqsa brigade commander (although each time he has a different name!!!)............there is no such thing, these days each idiot who has a gun things he is a commander, and thinks he actually has a following...this is an outcome of the break-down of security, and social fabric in the palestinian community...what makes it worse is that Ynet goes and looks for these whack-jobs to interview representing the Palestinian public opinion, BS. the Palestinian society is exhausted, tired, and miserable, not to mention hopeless about the future....and they want a solution to this conflict....in a recent pole i read 90% of the gazan's interviewed responded that they wanted the rockets fired from their neighborhoods to stop as their first priority......becasue they realize how futile and damaging such things are, but alas, there is no centralized vision or leadership anymore, and it takes only one or two people to ruin it for everyone...... as for the Iraq issue, the guy quoted was just repeating meaningless slogans .... this is not iraq, and never will be...... and we don't want it to be ..... the vast majority of Palestinians want this conflict to end today, regardless of what you hear on the tv or on the web from a couple of lunatics ........despite me being unhappy with our current leadership, the truth is that they have no interest escalating any violence becasue they know that it will lead to no where, and will be damaging to them .... such incidents and declarations are done by splinter groups who seem to have their own objectives...... this madness has to end, and i really hope that some meaningful talks between our people will start soon, but i'm afraid that isreal is going to dump Olmert for Nitenyaho ...we will have Hamas on one side and Netanyaho on the other...a recipe for 10 more years of conflict...

Are these guys in for a surprise when we eventually invade Gaza.
7. yes they did
meir   (04.26.07)
learn a few things... the funny part is they are learning more and more how to destroy and less and less how to build a country!! Its not even a suprise abu mazen is the leader of this gang he has been the man behind munchen 1972... the only thing different between him and arafat is the way he dresses! Israeli leadership is stupid enough to think abu mazen and his gang are less violent than hamas and Im Yetzer Hashem will they all be dismissed soon! Let a real leader rule over Israel and show the world the strenght of Hashem in its full glory!!
8. Its too bad they cant fight for peace and the future.
David ,   Boston, USA   (04.26.07)
These terrorists are pathetic. They learn how to destroy and not how to building. If I were a "Palestinian" I'd probably kill these terrorists myself because they keep me from the future.

12. Palestinians 'are learning' from Iraq?
Moish ,   Jerusalem   (04.26.07)
That is like saying that a professor has learned from a nursery school kid. The palestinians are the Professors of Terrorism, they have perfected it and have exported it worldwide. What they do not know yet has not been thought of,so it should read the reverse. Iraqis are learning from the palestinians
13. You do the same already...
JZ ,   DC   (04.26.07)
The Israeli government tells the world that it is working for a peaceful solution to the situation and that they are doing everything they can to bring peace. Funny then how settlements continue to expand daily in the West Bank and how the separation barrier steals more land from the Palestinians. Daily, Palestinians face incursions into their territory, have homes demolished, because the Israeli government wants to construct the Wall and because they rarely give Palestinians building permits. The Palestinians are being squeezed into smaller and smaller spaces to make room for more settlers and to try to make the living conditions for Palestinians so miserable that they leave. Israel will say, we offered the Palestinians a good deal in 2000. That deal would have effectively broken the West Bank into several discontinuous pieces. Besides Barak's offer was not even written on paper, and was given with no US negotiator in the room - I hardly find it surprising Arafat rejected that deal, any political leader anywhere would have done the same. Israel will also point to the Gaza disengagement. They did this not as a sign of goodwill or peace to the Palestinians, but because they realized the settlements there were costing too much money to defend, etc. Thus they pulled out and closed off Gaza effectively making it a large prison - hardly a gesture for peace. Now, of course, the Palestinian government and terrorist organizations are hardly blameless in all this. Palestinian terrorist attacks are immoral, stupid, and counterproductive. However, the occupation of a large population in the West Bank and the enclosure of the people in Gaza is also immoral, stupid, and counterproductive. I know most Israeli and Palestinian people want a peaceful end to this situation. Sadly there are extremists and political parties on BOTH sides who prevent peace from being a reality.
14. #5 Abu Ahmed
JZ ,   DC   (04.26.07)
I doubt Abu Ahmed is really a credible leader in the Fatah movement. This is the guy that Aaron Klein - who, by the way, is not unbiased in his reporting - always uses in his articles. In fact, do a google search and you'll find that the Abu Ahmed associated with the Al Asqa Martyrs Brigades is only mentioned in articles by Aaron Klein or in articles that cite Klein's articles. I hardly believe Abu Ahmed is a high ranking Fatah member, he's just someone who Klein can use to promote his hateful, anti-Palestinian articles.

16. #4, Abdel...one question!
DR ,   Florida, USA   (04.26.07)
How can Israel deal with the Palestinians and talk of peace when the Palestinian leadership has no control over its people? There are rogue terror cells firing rockets into Israel everyday. There are suicide bombers trying to infiltrate Israel all the time and we hear this call for war and violence from Hamas and fatah's military wing all the time. This is such a one sided issue right now. Israel should not and will not deal with terrorists. until you find a leadership that is willing to go after these militant factions, you will never have normalized talks with Israel. It is a simple idea to understand. Any thoughts???

JZ ,   DC   (04.26.07)
Ah yes, I like how you only criticize Palestinian leaders for being terrorists. It seems to me that many of Israel's Prime Ministers have been terrorists too. For example, Menachem Begin was a leader in Irgun. Irgun was a terrorist organization responsible for bombings on buses, in markets, and yes the bombing of the King David Hotel which killed 91 people most of whom were civilians. Wow, if you think about it Irgun sounds exactly like Hamas - a religious extremist group that used bombs against civilians. Many Zionist groups used terror as a tactic to win Israeli independence, remove the British and scare the Palestinians. I guess the real people who Palestinian terrorist groups learned from were the Zionist terrorist groups. I have a question for you: Was Irgun and other organizations use of terrorism justifiable to win Israeli independence? I believe that just as Palestinian terrorism is unjustifiable, so too was the Zionist terrorism unjustifiable. Begin is only one example, but there are more. "We [the Jews] used terrorism to establish our state. Why should we expect the Palestinians to be any different?" - Leah Rabin

Marcel ,   Florida   (04.26.07)
For too long Israel has been content to play the dog on America's short leash. All youyr egggs arf in the failed Road Map basket of certain defeat and destruction. Better cut the leash and free yourself from this delusion of peace with those who intend to exterminate you. All you have to do is look east and see what your ballmaster George has brought to Iraq and what the Road Map has brought to Israel. If this dosen't wake you up then your are already ,dead , marked for slaughter. Only your God will bring true and lasting peace ,you have fallen for a lie with your false messiah George.

Steve G ,   Kew Gardens, NY, USA   (04.26.07)
I have no idea of why YNET uses World net Daily as a source. They are simply not credible. One look at their site will quickly establish who they are and their goals in their 'reporting'. Are the Al Aqsa Brigades dangerous, violent terrorists? Sure they are. But that does not make individual World Net Daily reports any more believable.

Uh... Israel could never survive if it weren't for the United States. If they don't like American led initiatives then America should really cut off all its money and support of Israel. If that happened Israel would disappear very quickly. America saves Israel all the time by its unfailing support of Israel on the world stage. Without US support Israel could not stand. Especially because crazy people like you exist who don't want a Palestinian state and don't want peace.
25. DR....
Abdel ,   Nablus, Palestine   (04.26.07)
Good question my friend, The underlying principle of all this is very simple. It is very sad for me to say this, but I guess it is true. “If people are treated like animals, they will most likely behave like ones”. Experiences in our lives shape who we are no matter how much we try to resist that. Always put your self in other peoples shoes before you judge them, no matter how much you think they are wrong……..With that been said, there have been some huge tactical and moral mistakes on behalf of Israelis and Palestinians. Let’s go back to the first intifada. No armed Palestinians at that time, no suicide bombings, Palestinians throwing stones at Israeli military vehicles. Yet, the government of Israel used the Iron fist mentality since day one, the end result was a huge punishment of the Palestinian civilian population, a couple of thousand dead, and roughly 20,000 injured, not to mention the broken bone policy, house demolitions and curfews, and the whole workout . This Iron fist mentality continues to carry on until today, the living conditions within the west bank are absolutely unbearable, and they have been like that for the last 6 years. I can guarantee to you that although you might be mind and sole pro-Israel, that if you come and live/ visit over here you will see stuff differently……… and that’s only the west-bank, Gaza on the other hand is one big overcrowded dump with a huge angry, and hungry population. The situation in gaza is worse x100 times than the west bank. Any one who makes out of gaza could consider him self-lucky and born-again…… On the Palestinian side, our biggest mistake was to allow our struggle for independence to become an armed one, and a lot of Palestinians know that, we allowed atrocities to be committed in our name, thinking only in short term about teaching the Israeli’s a lesson for their atrocities, well the end result is what we have right now, you have different groups with their own agenda’s, and their own visions of how to deal with Israel, a very dangerous situation, because it lacks any future thinking about the collective and national interest. My people are not evil or bad, nor do I think that the Israeli public are evil or bad, but Palestinians have been through a lot (more than any one can take), and such chaos, and violence are truly (and sadly ) natural responses to what they have been going through for so long (I don’t mean to justify hear, I just want you to understand)… So what needs to be done, well, you can’t just keep on putting more and more restrictions and pressure on the Palestinian population, and then expect a normal, rational society to emerge, any one who understands human beings should be able to see that………..the key is to reduce the pressure on the population, and allow for kind of life normalcy to come back, take whatever necessary measures needed to secure you’re population (necessary is the key word here), but no need for the harsh, insulting, degrading, and deadly punishment policy,,,,,since it what got us here at the first place. Will there be trouble here and there? You bet you,,shit will still happen, but it all comes down to what Israel wants the end result to be…if Israel wants a Palestinian state that will be stable, and safe for Israeli, then that is the way to go…….but the current stats quo only increases the rift between our people who have much more in common than differences……. if you wait for a government of you’re liking to emerge on the Palestinian side while these unbearable conditions continue, it will never emerge…..you don’t want to talk to hamas or abu mazan because they have blood on their hands. But what about us? We also see anyone on the Israeli side with blood on their hands also…..and the more this conflict goes on, the more people on both sides have blood on their hands…….My condolnces go out to all the families who have lost a love one for this ugly conflict, may they be the last people lost….
26. #17...A FEW DIFFERENCES!
DR ,   Florida, USA   (04.26.07)
Jews belong in their land of Israel...the British did not! Irgun did not intentionally target civilians...Hamas, fatah etc. do! Your reasoning leads me to think that if any means is ok to reach a goal, then israel should just eliminate all threats. You and I both know they can do this in a matter of days...is that what you want?
27. #26.... Uh, sorry no differences...
JZ ,   DC   (04.26.07)
Of course Irgun intentionally targeted civilians. They often planted bombs in Arab markets and would attack Arab neighborhoods. If you plant a bomb in a busy marketplace YOU ARE targeting CIVILIANs!!! Explain to me, if you can, how bombing a market is not intentionally tartgeting civilians??? Palestinians belong in their land too, so sorry, saying "Jews belong in their land of Israel" does not justify Irgun or the Stern Gang's use of terrorism. I know you're going to throw a Biblical arguement at me saying God gave the Jews the land, but sorry, that doesn't cut it. There are too many different religions and beliefs in the world to use one religions text as the predominant truth in international political discourse and action. And no, my resoning should not have led you to think that any means is ok to reach a goal. I believe that ANY killing by ANYONE is wrong - be it a member of a terrorist organization or a soldier. My point was that it is very interesting that Irgun is seen as a group of freedom fighters to many Israelis, when, in fact, they used the same tactics as Hamas or any other terrorist group. I guess your defense of Irgun goes to prove the statement that "one man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter." Thank you for being a hypocrite and proving that point.
28. Atilla, you did it!
(04.26.07)
29. #25 Abdel...thank you for your response!
DR ,   Florida, USA   (04.26.07)
It is very refreshing to see that there are people like yourself on the "other side". Too often we see Palestinians teaching their kids to hate Jews and to continue their armed resistance, but there is no logic or reaosn to this. They squander billions of dollars in aid-money that could have been used to build and progress, but instead went towards buying guns and bombs. This is the fundamental problem with the palestinians. They don't seem to want to change. as much as you want to believe they do, they still teach their kids to hate jews and Israel ( its in their text books). How do you change this? Israel left gaza and the West bank....all they got was more qassams. It is up to the Palestinian leadership and people to reign in the terror and stop teaching and breeding hate. Only then can Israel loosen its grip on them. I think this is the only way out. Start teaching the next generation that armed conflict will get them no where.
