1. ABSOLUTELY !!
EM ,   Ra'anana   (05.11.07)
Thank you B. Michael for telling it like it is.
2. Well said Mr. Michael!!!
Concerend Israel   (05.11.07)
Why do we need to keep looking for excuses for self flagellation??? The picture in this case opposed everything Jewish, and was taken completely out of context, we are not that bad!!! Thank you Mr Michael for clarifying this point.
3. honest reporting
eliezer ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (05.11.07)
news aint news, its business. sensation sells papers, makes money for the news business. perversion of the news is nothing new in Israel, or the rest of the world. Agreed, the people may have acted sensible, but did the news media??
4. AGREE
gabriela ben ari ,   jerusalem   (05.11.07)
5. The truth, the whole truth
mother of four ,   Israel   (05.11.07)
and nothing but the truth. Thank you Mr Michael for setting the record straight. Maybe your standards of journalism will permeate all of the media.
6. are you nuts?
rpc ,   modi'in, Israel   (05.11.07)
if I don't have a medical degree, I can't offer an inured person support or assitance? ONLY doctors should stop their cars to help injured persons? NO ONE should dare to snarl traffic to at least prevent someone else from driving over a dead body?
7. YES!!! I am tired of everybody running to ....
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (05.11.07)
criticize Israeli society. We do better than most countries in most things. It was a matter of seconds that cars drove around that poor man, and talkbackers were screaming how horribly selfish were are. Well we're not. Its so easy to trash our own wonderful country. And for what? Thanks for setting the record straight!
8. I see
El Duderino ,   Chapel Hill, USA   (05.11.07)
So Israelis are angels after all, capable of no wrong. Next time you find yourself asking, "how can they be so cruel and callous?", do what Mr. Michael does. Just fabricate some reason for that cruelty and callousness.
9. Oh Those Bad Jewish Israelis
Dave Levy ,   Burbank. USA   (05.12.07)
Ah, well written, it's soooo eady to vilify Israel these days. Poor little Jewish state of 7m cannot seem to do anything right. It's always Israel's fault. I watched channel 4 KNBC on TV (will write Mr. Williams), and heard the anguish by him while watching the incident. What has Israel come to was the implication? Israel, the thwarter of peace. Israel having caused the Iraqi war indirectly. Israel, not giving the Saudi Plan a chance (reads one headline). Israel, fragmented, it's population at war with itself, Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad. Israel avoiding Syrian talks. Israel, Israel, Israel, Israel, the chosen people, dysfunctional. Israel the cause of the Nakba. Israeli planes buzzing German UN patrol ships. Israeli aircraft in French gunsights. Poor little Jewish Israel.
10. Come to NZ & see how things are done
NZ Girl ,   New Zealand   (05.12.07)
The next day in my beautiful New Zealand, an elderly lady fell in a gutter on a main street and lay bleeding. For more than 20 minutes, people and cars walked by and no one,not a single person on a busy street, stopped to help an old lady who was clearly alive and needing attention. No ambulances phoned, no cars stopped. So congratulations Israel, amidst all your problems, you still do the right thing. In NZ, with our peace and tranquility, my citizens have lost their souls
11. New Zealand- if you think Israel is mean, read this
NZ Girl ,   New Zealand   (05.12.07)

12. This "news" made it even to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno
Tracy W   (05.12.07)
It is unfortunate that so much negativity, both true facts and distortions, are originating from Israeli media. The world media are eagerly picking up these items and distributing them to an even wider audience. Articles based on a security camera film and little else were used to present a "fact" that speaks of Israelis' supposed indifference to an accident victim. Last night's Jay Leno show used this item as a joke. That goes to show how well the Israeli media are helping the world demonize Israel and the Jews. I don't mean to say that the media should remain silent when there are legitimate issues to be reported or discussed, but there has to be balance, responsibility, and solid research behind what is being published.
13. I can see and understand
Joe ,   USA   (05.12.07)
the point made here. However, the news clip was shown on morning news in my area in the U.S. . This is very demaging to the image of the Israeli society. This matter should have been brought before the Israeli information Bureau to accomodate an answer such as given here with the news clip.
14. Making excuses for un-Torah like behavior
Yosef Cohen ,   Newark , USA   (05.11.07)
Excuse me but I happen to be in the medical field here in the states we have what you call a "good samaritan" law look it up. I did not see one person check to see if he's ok, does he have a pulse? is he in shock? can he even speak? you cannot blame the people of Israel as a whole but this is a reflection of a evergrowing problem of ME FIRST attitude of Israelis this is not a way jews act.
15. Road accident in Azur
Birdi ,   Israel   (05.12.07)
A dying man should NEVER be left alone in his final moments.
16. freaks

17. # 14 To supercicllious "doss"
Seeker of truth ,   Israel   (05.12.07)
Where does the Torah instruct us to behave like idiots and make a bad situation worse by stopping our cars in the middle of a busy junction, to leap out of said cars, get injured or killed ourselves and disrupt the traffic so that the ambulance - now ambulances after our inane behaviour - can't get through easily? The drivers and other on the scene behaved correctly and certainly in accordance with the mores of normal human behaviour and the Torah. The journalists didn't even adhere to the professed standards of their profession. (So what else is new?) Torah standards - let's not ask for too much. If they would just report events truthfully it would be a start. I for one am not holding my breath. This whole "story" was pure spin which has given our enemies yet another stick to beat us with.
18. Nice Spin - I do not buy it.
rh ,   Modiin Israel   (05.13.07)
Ever thought of going into politics ? People do not make calm calculated split second decisions. Oh he is 100% dead, better not start a traffic jam. If the had been as rational as you make out they would have known there may be a camera filming and they better make a show of caring. From the footage it seems clear that many people (not all because we cannot see all) were not thinking about the good of Moshe Hai but about themselves. I would prefer to believe your version, but the selfishness and stupidity I see every day on the roads, does not allow me too.
