3. Can Hamas not stop for a second and look at themselves?
Isabella ,   Israel   (05.15.07)
Don't they care at all about public opinion and the rising consensus that they are a bunch of misfit half-brainers? How much do they really care about the Palestinian people and how much do they want to show everyone how 'tuff' they can be. Because the second one isn't working at all. They must stop with their childish accusations, settle down and start to take care and feed the people who voted for them. It's what a government is supposed to do.

8. #1 - Two Palestinians just posted this on HaAretz
redkmike ,   tel aviv - Israel   (05.15.07)
I was in Gaza when the who thing stared. I went there after 20 years in the US. My family are still there. It felt and smell like a real war. I Palestinian people are sick of the two factions. I heard many calls for for dissolving the palestinian national authority, and put the area back under Israeli or international control. Gaza now is a failed state. People are hungry and have no hope. In my view, this is not good for Israel nor to the region as whole in the long term. There are new emerging factions in Gaza who are more fanatic than Hamas. I urge Israel and the international community to intervene and bring hope back to the people. Letting palestinians starve and kill each other is a crime. While there are many bad people there, we need to protect the good people and especially the children. --- Palestinians, are not ready for statehood, if we have ever been ready. I begin to like the idea of Gaza reverting back to Egyptian control and the West Bank to Jordanian control. -- Seems like they are honest and you are perhaps not ?

10. To all Palestine/Arab Bashers including the Ottoman Atilla
Hani ,   Palestinian Vagabond   (05.15.07)
It should come as no surprise what has unfolded, and unfortunately, in the Gaza Strip. The American + Israeli grand plan for the zone: PRESSURE + STEAM COOK IT, cutt off funds, destroy power stations, prevent repair of sewage lines, isolate them into the world's biggest prison, and finance their collaborators (big elements in Fatah). It has worked out marvelously. It's depressing to see my own people fall in this booby trap, their lack of education, despair, morval impoverishment, and parrot-style following of ISLAM can be attributed to one thing FIRST AND FOREMOST: The brutal 40-year Israeli occupation of our lives, land, and future. Make no mistake, an unstable situation, civil war, or perpetual chaos in Palestine will BACKFIRE on Israel and its evil Zionist backers in Washington. Record history, the world always finds a way to balance itself. This situation cannot continue for eternity. Adie Bush '09. See you in hell.

12. What will make them happy???
DR ,   Florida, USA   (05.15.07)
Is there really anything that will make Palestinians happy? What if they are so brainwashed to hate and want to kill, that there is nothing left to offer them? Is this culture doomed forever? Seems like it to me!!!

Hani you forgot one more pressure cooker technique used by the US and Israel. The donation of billions of US dollares to the PLO Wheres the dough hani?
14. Some questions for Hani
Talula ,   Israel   (05.15.07)
Hello Hani, Please just tell me... Why should anyone give your government funds when all it does is buy arms to kill Israelis instead of taking care of the basic fundamental welfare of the Palestinian people? Why should anyone give you any funds at all? You are taking water and electricity from a country that your government says does not exist – Interesting, how does that work then? Is it only selective things that you need from Israel that validate our existence? It's not our fault you don't have proper sewerage systems – tell Hamas, not us. Why do you think we should be responsible for those things? You have a government to go to. We are out of Gaza – we don't want anything to do with you. We just want a quiet life. Why hasn't your government built the basic fundamental infrastructure for a country? They don't even attempt to make your lives easier, they just want to show you how tough they are by trying to kill Israelis. They talk with flapping lips that no-one takes any notice of. They can offer you nothing Hani, nothing at all. And lastly, Hani, you don't need to be blaming Israel for all your problems, the blame is sitting on your side of the fence and it's called Hamas. You really need a wake up call.
15. #10, Hani,keep making excuses!!!
DR ,   Florida,USA   (05.15.07)
You cannot back your accusations with any facts. What about all the money Palestinians receive in international aid? Where does it go? Isarel left Gaza and the WB...what happened there afterwards??? Palestinians have become so accustomed to using Israel's "occupation as an excuse for everything they do, its sickening. When will you people look in the mirror, take some responsibility for tyour actions and actually do something about it??? The world is not blind...they see how you raise your kids, how your leaders squander money for weapons instead of food and how you always blame Israel and the US for your shortcomings. Its getting really old hani!!
16. 10 - more the 16K jobs had been created near Karni recently
unemployment down ,   by 7% in 3 months   (05.15.07)
According to a recent article in the Jerusalem Post, unemployment in Gaza decreased by SEVEN PERCENT IN THE PAST THREE MONTHS because Karni crossing had been opened, providing 16,600 jobs. In other words, there was no pressure cooker whatsoever, especially not near the site of the violence today. The second that infighting calmed in Gaza, Israel eased restrictions near Karni and jobs were created - aka, non-violence benefited the Palestinians and had made Israel more lenient. So, if we're going to go the conspiracy theory route, it's far more likely that Hamas (who still refuses to do as little as recognize Israel's existence) is sabotaging the situation. After all, if things are good economically for Palestinians, it's harder for them to sell their extremist, anti-compromise rhetoric. As long as you blame Israel for everything (as the institutionalized Palestinian education systems narrow-mindedly teach you to do), you will never question your own leadership. That's saddest for you because it means you won't ever be able to stop them from sabotaging a better life that you could potentially have if they chose dialogue over fanatical hatred.

#1 you know what, it is not funny any more. It is one thing to be an israeli or a jew who writes anti arab statments...thats fine, but this kind of childish imposter stuff is just not funny any more, honsetly.....and especially at times when people are dying...and don't give me that shit about not being an imposter as you usually do...common (habby) give me a break....... as for the situation itself, i disagree with Hani on this one, i understand all what you are saying, i live it everyday ....and i unserstand that this is not the best venue to say this especially with some of the bigots over here , but the madness has gone too far......Fatah blames hamas, and israel. Hamas blames Israel and fatah, and israel and the world blames us.............no one on any side is taking any responsibility, and who is paying the price for their stupidty and arrogance ? we, the people who live over here....enough is enough.....years of years of conflict, and no end in sight. every year my mother says, 'i have a good feeling that things are going to get better this year' do you realize how many times she has said this? it just gets worst, and you think it hits rock bottom, yet it goes even lower the next year that. we need some arab interfernece with military force right Now! thats it, this is the tipping point !
20. DR, Florida when are you going to grow up ?

(1) the international press has no clue what is occuring in aza (2) The americans by feeding abbas with weapons are fueling the fire (3) Since a moderate ishmaelite is one who runs out of ammo, looks like all involved are extremists (4) since food supplies are running low, a humanitarian effort should be made to transfer the non-combatants to Egypt and Jordan (5) Olmert peretz and the leaders of piece now, btselem, acri and uri avinery should hire a taxi and drive into aza to mediate peace effort....lol have a nice day
22. to 19. are you sure you need an independent country???
aaron ,   ra'anana   (05.15.07)
seems like you can't handle the responsibility "we need some arab interfernece with military force right Now!" in other words, you want to be reoccupied by Jordan and Egypt. kudos to you. your proto-nation of the 'palestinian people' is a non-starter... "PA-TET!"
23. WHO CARES!
Jellybean ,   Chicago   (05.15.07)
Let them fight each other, in time there will none left and the US can save its money, one less welfare check "area" we have to send money to.
24. Arab peacekeeping force? a la #19
JPS ,   Efrat   (05.15.07)
Interesting comment coming from a Palestinian - to have an Arab force come in to enforce law and order. However, I don't think any Arab country would agree unless the conditions were pretty severe. This would include the disarming of everybody and the creation of a single, mixed police force. Fatah, Hamas, Jihad et al giving up their weapons for the greater good of the Palesitnian nation? Nice thought, but doubt anybody except for the regular Pal citizens like Abdel would agree to it.
25. Dear Abdel

This is an absolute nightmare. I hope that help is on its way and somebody will reach out with real ideas how to fix this . Not all Israelis are happy for what's going on there. Some of us are crying for your children, too. Salam.

Ryan ,   Calgary, Canada   (05.15.07)
To all the Israeli's this deteriorating situation while some might cheer it, is really sad. There are citizens, powerless ones, that want a state and want a true peace with Israel and the Jews. This could be a great time to achieve this, and eliminate / exile Hamas and Fatah, who have hijacked the pali "nation" for their own personal gain, monetary and religiously. It's my belief that they take orders from other arab nations, while using their own citizens as "cannon fodder" for their Islamic agenda. Is not forgiveness and love a jewish trait? Abdel, the last thing you need is an arab military force their. Wake up, they use your people to fulfull their own agenda, and would only side with one side or try to achieve talks to get them to cooperate putting you back to square one. You need both parties gone, banned for good. You need an independent nation to oversee your finances and security, and work towards being honest and accountable while improving the economy, creating jobs, infrastructure, learning new skills, creating a better society. You need a country that is impartial to this conflict, Canada would be a good candidate to go in and make lives better, and government more honest and for the peoples interest. They are liked by most countries around the world, have many allies and are seen as a moral leader in the international community. I also believe that with Hamas and Fatah in exile and banned, and a Canadian contigent temporarily governing the palestinians most Israeli's would have a better sense of relief and security. I think they should be ok with that. The Canadian contigent, could stay for 5-7 years, establish industry, train individuals, create government postings and accountability measures, pretty much creating a civil functioning society modelled after ours then hand it over to you once everything is on track. Or you could fight until your all dead, or Israel destroys you or the Islamic agenda swallows you, i'd prefer independence

Arab interference? Dear Abdel, it was Arab interference that got the Palestinians in the present situation. If they had shut up and kept their noses and incitement out of the situation, you would have had a REAL STATE since 1947. For G-d sake, man, look at what's happened to all of us because of Arab interference. They hold up their bogus regimes on your backs and ours.
29. Reply to #DR, Florida: Brainwashed to hate is correct!!!
Helene ,   Israel   (05.15.07)
You got it just right! There is no hope for them until they change their hateful ways of thinking - and they don't know to that because they are fed with it every second of their lives. Yes, they are dooming themselves forever.
30. To #27
Phil ,   Canada   (05.15.07)
Ryan, Respectfully, we do not need to get involved in this mess. Until the pals decide for peace, no matter how much sympathy or money you throw at the problem, including military, the problem will only get worse. Gaza back to Egypt, W.Bank back to Jordan, their fellow arabs will know exactly how to "help" them and the rest of the world won't give a sh$t about their "condition". The pals have always had a chance for peace, however, their leaders(who probably reflect the majority attitude or propagate it) have created and sustained their own misery with the help of their arab brothers. Canada does need this problem. I am also tired of the pals and arabs blaming everyone else for the situation they are sustaining.
