31. 25. Yes, Edith.
Miriam ,   Jerusalem   (06.14.07)
In a corrupt world, with corrupt rulers and judges, why should you expect anything better?
32. 28. The Haredim serve in the Army of Hashem, which is
Miriam ,   Jerusalem   (06.14.07)
a more respectable army.
33. # 19 NORA
charles ,   petach tikva   (06.14.07)
It's only the second , and the first this year in MY CAPITAL . After this one it will maybe be enough .
34. 17. You may be sure that, if anything, they wil get G-d's
Miriam ,   Jerusalem   (06.14.07)
curses rather than His blessings. See talkback number 8.
35. How does Israel expect to get Siyata Dishmaya (Heavenly
Miriam ,   Jerusalem   (06.14.07)
assistance) if the wrath of G-d is upon them for defiling His holy city? Will we have a chance to overcome Hamas, Syria, Iran and other terrorists without Heavenly assistance? Do we need another war?
36. To #1: Parenting Unrelated to Homosexuality
John ,   Maaleh Adumim,Israel   (06.14.07)
After researching the phenomena of homosexuality in various cultures, the scientific community no longer believes that poor parenting causes homosexuality.
37. to #32
Hiram ,   tel-aviv   (06.14.07)
Myriam.... Can you ask the "army of Ha Shem " to help and provide for the 1.5 million of people in this country who are living under poverty level ? This would be a first good step into helping Israel to become Heavenly and far more important than ostracizing your Jewish brothers . Does anyone points fingers at you when they see you walk in the street simply because you are Orthodox ? Hamas wants to eradicate Israel with the help of God, you want to deny Homosexuals their rights with the help of God ...do you thing that God agrees to all these requests ? What makes you so rightful ?
38. To those anti's
charles ,   petach tikva   (06.14.07)
When you talk , i answer : Vayftach hashem et pi ha'aton .
39. #19 - Gay Parades Each Week
John ,   Maaleh Adumim,Israel   (06.14.07)
It's not coincidence that the gay pride parades are held close to each other - they are supposed to be held in June to remember the Stonewall riots that occured in 1969. If you don't like them...you know in advance when they will be....realize that these parades are an important symbol for these communities and stay away from the area where it takes place.
40. Priorities first!
Lisa ,   Israel   (06.14.07)
Surely the gay parade is much less of a problem than what's happening in Gaza right now and what's happening in Sderot etc... At least the gay people are not out for war and not for violence. Should one not channel ones opposing energy in fighting off our gazan enemies? Personally, I don't get why the gay community would want to put themseslves in a position for being viciously attacked by the opposing public even though I feel that if you belong to any certain type of community or not, then why does it need to be advertised? I'm wondering what they're supposed to gain by being beaten up and jeered at? I'm as straight as they come and I don't go around flaunting that I'm straight because I know I am and I know I'm traditional and yet secular so who exactly would I be advertising to and for what?! That's my point on this subject. However, it seems that we are so close to war breaking out at any minute and believe me, if or when it does, then no-one will even have the time or energy to focus on any gay parade. Let's get our priorities in order!
41. "Inappropriate location"
Daniel ,   Tel Aviv   (06.14.07)
If the Capital of Israel is an "inappropriate location" for a political march perhaps Tel Aviv should be considered and "inappropriate location" for Haredi Jews to evangelize. I'm tired of hearing them demand i lay Tfelin near the Shuk or on King George and Shenkin Streets. I don't run them off. Olmert, leave the political parades where they belong, in the Capital. Or do what every nation would prefer we do...move the Capital.
42. ignorance and religion
(06.14.07)
I have never read such a bunch of misguided and uninformed rubbish. None of you people against this march know enough about IT or GAY people. You only focus on their sexual orientation and nothing else. This indicates that you are all very much sexually depraved.
43. 37. Hiram
Miriam ,   Jerusalem   (06.14.07)
You, as well as everyone else, knows that the Jews are G-d's chosen people. G-d would do anything for His children who love Him and obey His commandments. But when His children go against Him and commit sins that are despicable to His eyes, i.e. those that destroy His beloved country, that's when Hamas gets an upper hand and, G-d forbid, can do what they want. It's all up to us. If only the Jewish people would understand it. There's more to the way the world runs than what the secular people "see with their physical eyes". It has been proven before in Germany with the reform and assimilated who were the main cause of the Holocaust. You may deny it from today to tomorrow and run away from the truth. But facts stays facts.
44. Proof of the need
Daniel ,   Tel Aviv   (06.14.07)
All this anti-gay rhetoric and threats by law makers prove the need to hold these parades within the CAPITAL where they will be MOST visible and effective. This is about the power of the NATIONAL gay community. Democracy is not just about giving a ruling majority power and control, it is about giving voice to the minority; to the voiceless. When one or another group tries to remove the rights of free and peaceful gathering and protest you effectively call for rioting and violence or a police state. This can not be the goal of religious people or gay people ergo let all groups march peacefully and express themeselves
45. 40
Daniel ,   Tel Aviv   (06.14.07)
Lisa, I would be surprised if you did not "flaunt" your "straightness." You do it without being aware of it. You go out on dates or with your husband. You hold hands or kiss in public. You have no concern about touching your partner and no worry that someone will beat you or curse you or stab you because of it. THAT is why gay people march. It is not to say "WOW I'M GAY" It is to obtain the same freedoms you enjoy without thought or prejudice. You can marry. You can have a family, You can do everything with your partner you desire. Gay people are still virulently harassed sometimes violently so. A parade calls that to attention and to task.
46. #40
(06.14.07)
They will continue to fight against the gay parade because they don't have any children in the IDF that protect this country SO they can demonstrate over a bunch of gays having a good time. They all need to be shipped out to another place to live. They are vile smelly people
47. #32 - You are not as stupid as you imagine
Hamburger ,   Hamburg   (06.14.07)
..but much more! "The army of HaShem is a more respectable army"?? Does it protect Israel from the enemies? Do people risk their lives serving there? How exactly is living on goverments money is "more respectable"? You amaze me, really...
48. Miriam , # 43 look at my # 38 , it's for you
charles ,   petach tikva   (06.14.07)
49. The gay and lesbian lobby
Raphael ,   Netanya   (06.14.07)
massively stands for Palestine, as sodomy is better accepted in muslim society then adultery (may I recall Arafat's tastes?). So why doesn't this lobby parade in Gaza or Ramallah, where they enjoy much more popularity?
50. 42. Ignorance
Miriam ,   Jerusalem   (06.14.07)
I, as a Jew, would much rather be "ignorant" in immoral affairs than ignorant in the Jewish law - which apparently, you and most of these talkbackers are. Quite sad to see the amount of Jews so illiterate in our Torah. If orthodox Rabbis who are well versed in Torah and Kabbalah are so against it, they very well know what they're doing and they are the ones - not you - who know the consequences of such immorality in our midst.
51. 41. Good idea, Daniel.
Miriam ,   Jerusalem   (06.14.07)
How about moving the "capital" to Africa and have Jews like yourself do all "inappropriate" acts there? The Vatican is another idea.
52. GAYRUSALEM
Rod Hudson ,   San Francisco. Ca   (06.14.07)
ANNU-ALLY THE SAME STORY REPEATS ITSELF, ASS USUAL THE HOMOSEXUAL COMMUNITY WANTS TO ENLIGHT THE RESIDENTS OF THE GAYRUSALEM WITH THIER UN-ORTODOX WAY OF USING DIFERTS PARTS OF THEIR BODY, LIKE EATING WITH THE EARS, WALKING WITH THE ELBOWS, SEEING WITH THE NOSE, SMELLING WITH THE TOES (I DIDN'T SAY SMELLY TOES), ETC. IT IS DEFFINITLY A GOOD REASON TO BE PRIDE OF. LET THE GAY PARADE TEACH US TOLERANCE, A TOLERANCE THAT WOULD BE MEASSURED IN INCHES OF LENGTH AND DIAMETER AS WELL.
53. Stupid Police
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (06.14.07)
"Police authorize Jerusalem pride parade" Dumb decision.
54. 47. Without Heavenly Protection
Miriam ,   Jerusalem   (06.14.07)
and prayers from "sincere" Jews, esp. from G-d fearing religious Jews, the IDF would be taken over by their enemies in a single day. Do you have any idea how hard the Rabbis work to prevent terrorist attacks - like yesterday's? Obviously, you don't. You're too illiterate and ignorant to understand these hidden things. You don't even realize that there's much more in this world than what you actually see with your physical eyes. If we go against Hashem's laws, we take a risk of the enemies overpowering us. Remember the story of Chanukah and other stories in Jewish history where the few Jews overpowered the many enemies? That's because of the Heavenly protection they always got. We lost last years Lebanon War and over a hundred Jews were killed due to these immoral acts that kept Hashem's protection back. And by the way, the Haredim "live on government money" just like the seculars and pay their taxes just like the seculars. You have no proof whatsoever that it's not so. And that's why there's no reason, the Haredim should not have the same amount of power in the government as the seculars who have no feeling for this country, and just want to see it destroyed, do.
55. the gay parade in Jerusalem
alan andrews ,   Durham UK   (06.14.07)
Not that it will matter much in the scheme of things but my heart breaks that you are allowing, giving your approval to a parade, the nature of which flies in the face of your own G*D... How...? How can you approve this...? Are you completely blind to what's happening here... are you so blind to your own history that you can pretend that this doesn't matter? Are you so blind to the spiritual battle that is going on in your land that you will allow things that are even more dangerous that Hamas...? your own prophets tell you that there is none so blind as those that don't want to see... What can we do except pray and call out to your and our G*D for mercy... to cry to HIM not to turn HIS back... not to turn HIS face away and leave us absoloutely defenceless before our enemies... Oh G*D forgive us... A believer in Yeshua... A son of Abraham... One who seeks to Love the Lord with all His Heart...
56. AND HOW MUCH MONEY ARE THEY BEING PAID TO HOLD PARADE ?
just a question   (06.14.07)
57. "pride" parade
Susan ,   USA   (06.14.07)
My heart grieves that beautiful Jerusalem is going to be the scene for such an act. I and my fellow believers will be praying to G-d for those who are doing this to have their eyes opened and leave off from this abomination.
58. GET OVER IT!!!!
Israel   (06.14.07)
THERE IS GOING TO BE A PARADE. YOU WILL NOT STOP THEM. YOU DON'T HAVE TO WATCH THEM. YOU MUST LEARN TO ACCEPT THEM HATEFUL, INSIGHTFUL COMMENTS WON'T CHANGE A THING GET OVER IT! CRANK UP THE MUSIC
59. Miriam , Yeroushalaim
charles ,   petach tikva   (06.14.07)
So probably the European Rabbis did'nt pray enough to prevent the Shoa ? Where was "his" protection during that period for those millions of sincerely devout Jews ? where was "his" protection for the 1,5 million children who were murdered ? Poor Miriam to believe in such "nice stories" i'm so sorry for you , and hope you did not infect too many others with your medieval ideas .
60. Keep to the core issue, deviance
Baruch ,   Boston, USA   (06.14.07)
I wish people would stop bringing into this discussion the Holocaust, Sderot, Haredim paying taxes, serving in the military, and even the three religions that hold Jerusalem so dearly, although that may be more relevant. The key issue is that these people, and they aren't just homosexual, are parading their deviant and unnatural lifestyles as if there is something there about which to be proud. From either a religious or a secular persepective, these are screwed-up people. It's as if someone opened the doors to a mental hospital and the people paraded around with signs of "insanity pride", and people opened their bleeding hearts, totally ignoring the core issue. Homosexuality, bisexuality, transgenderism, transvestitism, transsexuality, and anything else like these things are all behaviors that go totally against a sane and productive society.
