1. stop terror attacks: move would boost Olmert Govt
Peace Now   (06.27.07)
2. שלום עכשיו: as usual they don't grasp reality
Zvi   (06.27.07)
Right now even Fatah needs Israel to clamp down on security in the WB and prevent HAMAS, Islamic Jihad, etc. from organizing. Anyone who calls for "Peace Now" without reckoning that it may lead to war tomorrow is an idiot.
3. Checkpoints
Paul Usiskin ,   London UK   (06.27.07)
There may be a need for the judicious use of spontaneous checkpoints. What is intolerable is their permanence in places where it is self evident that they exist as a means of constant intrusive 'control' over a civilian population whose lives are ruined daily by them. And then there is the other side of what these measures do - they corrode the morals and ethics of young Israeli men and women who serve at them and who become immune to the humanity of those they control.
4. Shalom Achshav live in an imaginary world!

5. More From The Loony Left.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (06.27.07)
Considering that this fringe group of crackpots represents almost no one, why does their opinion make it into the media? If I gather together several hundred bizarre individuals & advocate some lunatic political theory, will Ynet publish my views? This has nothing to do with freedom of speech - Peace Now has a right to hold any views they like, no matter how odd or unfounded as long as they don't advocate violence or criminal behavior. But, they don't deserve a public forum in the media AS IF they represented a large segment of the population. Am I wrong? If I am, then Ynet should include more information about Peace Now, such as how many members they have, how much is their budget, & what is the source of their income. Otherwise, the article is a form of propaganda & not reporting.

7. Peace Now: terror in WB not important to them
Ilan ,   Ariel   (06.27.07)
Attacks on IDF and Israelis in Judea and Samaria is not of great importance to Peace Now because they are not saddened by attacks that kill settlers or occupation soldiers. In other terms, they identify with the enemy and not with us.
8. Let them stand in Sderot and protest the kassams!
Nannette ,   London   (06.27.07)
"Peace Now" are a complete waste of time and space. They're fighting FOR the enemy, are well funded obviously by Europe and the Arabs, and their goal has nothing to do with peace, but the ultimate destruction of Israel.
9. Why more column inches to Peace Now! ?
redmike ,   tel aviv   (06.27.07)
YNet your readers detest this group and don't want to read about them. They are a sad, lost bunch of souls that would wither on the vine if you stopped giving them unnecessary publicity. Why, or who insists on supporting them? I and most readers will no longer read one sentence of what this tiny self hating group have to say!
10. Giving terrorists free range would help limit extremism?

Rebecca   (06.27.07)
I wonder how "Peace Now" made the assesment that this would not decract from our safty. They have no military or intelegence knowhow.
12. Judea & Samarria Won't Become Another Gaza...
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (06.27.07)
As long as we don't give these areas of OUR land to the Philistines. Duh! The only reason why Gaza is Gaza is because instead of doing these what we did in Jenin in 2002, we gave it to the terrorists.
13. When will Yariv Oppenheimer grow a Brain?
Yonatan Koss ,   Eilat   (06.27.07)
This mindless statement does not take into account the number of explosives and weapons seized from the long lines of people (arabs) trying to get into Israel.
14. Why is YNet publishing what "peace now" demmands???
freejay ,   Israel   (06.27.07)
15. Peace Now
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (06.27.07)
Find out if Peace Now is willing to put its money where its mouth is by proposing that the organization make its assets available to compensate the families of victims, assume the cost for the future care of injured victims and for the livelihood of the relatives who had depended on victims of terror attacks that will be a direct result of the removal of checkpoints. Let's just see how confident they are that they're right. If they say they don't have that many assets, you'll have your answer. Maybe they'd be willing to spend whatever assets they do have on insurance policies from Lloyds of London. Somebody make Peace Now put up or shut up. It's so damn' easy to spout and spew, when all the consequences of that spouting and spewing are borne by somebody else.
16. remove terrorists first (also in jenin, kalikilja, etc.)
uli ,   jerusalem   (06.27.07)
17. Peace Now leaders should take risks
Mordechai   (06.27.07)
Are Peace Now leaders willing to agree to commit suicide if a terrorist attack occurs after the checkpoints are removed, or are they only willing to risk other peoples lives? Will they dismantle left wing Kibbutizim built on Arab villages destroyed in the 48 war and let their supporters be homeless to support the Arab "right of return" or are they only willing to let other Jews become homeless. What risks is the left willing to take for "peace" ?
18. How many checkpoints were in Gaza...
Jack ,   Beit Shemesh   (06.27.07)
... when Hamas took over a few weeks ago. Hint: Answer is the same as the collective IQ of all Peace Now members: Answer: Zero.
19. Peace now
Rod ,   Faro N.Dakota   (06.27.07)
The name says it all peace NOW.Did you ever hear a small child whining i want it NOW.Pieces NOW is a small org. that gets most of it's money from anti-Israel countries.
20. Obvously wrong call by Peace Now
JPS ,   Efrat   (06.27.07)
Peace Now should call on Al Aqsa Martyrs and Fatah to publicly declare a halt to all their attacks originating in the west bank. In response to such a declaration - if it ever comes, Peace Now could then legitimately call on Israel to remove the roadblocks. Peace is between two sides. Unfortunately Peace Now insists on a policy of demanding unilateral moves by Israel only. This makes their movement into "Capitulation Now", not Peace Now.
21. CHECKPOINTS
colin   (06.27.07)
Peace now demands.Let the security fall into the hands of this oppenheimer character and will he and peace now garentee no bombs in jerusalem.?Will they gatrentee safety on the streets? Will they gaurd against terrorist action?Pledge to the security of the nation THE COME WITH YOUR DEMANDS.
22. Peace Now is a paid lobby group.
Otter ,   Canada   (06.27.07)
and a completely discredited one in the eyes of most Israelis. It's about time the media stopped giving them such an disproportionate and undeserved amount of coverage. And by the way, maybe the removal of checkpoints would give the Palestinians "a sense of normalcy", but it would be at the expense of Israelis' sense of normalcy, with increased acts of terror on civilians.
23. #3 Paul - you are in London, my friend
Judy Y ,   Los Angeles   (06.27.07)
It's inappropriate for foreigners to tell Israelis how to protect themselves, particulary with the history of carnage perpetrated on their population. You can argue morals and ethics all you want, but I'd like to see you do it while facing bereaved relatives or people left permanently disabled because of terror attacks on Israeli civilians.
24. Did Peace Now ever publish a report on the results of terror
Judy Y ,   Los Angeles   (06.27.07)
Did they ever made any statement whatsoever after people had been killed by terrorists?
25. How to endanger Jewish Lives? Hamas=Peace Now
klaus ,   Israel   (06.27.07)
26. How many dead due to Peace Now and oslo?
Edgar ,   Yisrael   (06.27.07)
Ask peres, sharon, barak ramon, livni, judicial system requiring assistance to terrorists and he media. Wasn't Rabbi Kahane ZT"Lway out of line?
27. JPS , Efrat
charles ,   petach tikva   (06.27.07)
And if those criminal organisations would tell the world they stop their attacks , would you thrust them ? You know that for them , a signed agreement is only a piece of paper , and a promesse ? I would agree to dismantle some checkpoints , only after a long period of tranquility . Peace now are still dreaming that the other side are nice people , there are of course nice ones , maybe many , but the good ones , we do'nt see them . Those good people , we did not hear their voices condemning suicide attacks either .
28. Peace Now is neither peace nor now. Discuss.
Linda Richman ,   Coffee Talk, NY   (06.27.07)
29. Re: Shalom Achshav Al Ta'amin Bahem
Shlomo ,   Tel Aviv   (06.27.07)
"Peace Now" is a misnomer. They have only brought disaster to our country with their lovely thinking. Instead of peace we are still under daily attack. Removing checkpoints in the past has proven that while there might be many arabs who could behave properly, each arab can be conscripted by the terrorist organizations to become extremists and bombers for a price. Who in their right mind would continue to trade a "peaceful" border with checkpoints with one of uncertainty? I stay instead to get back Gush, get West Bank, and keep Golan at all costs. Too many of us have fought hard to keep our modicum of land with too many lives already. This 60 years war is unconsciounable. I dare the peaceniks to instead sign a compact with our neighbors (including Iran and Syria) that no more arab terrorists will invade our space first. And then and only then can they spout such ridiculous nonsense. How many have had to serve in IDF or patrol these same borders? How many of them have lost a member of their own family? And, how many of them live in places like Sderot or Tsfat or Hevron? Israel can only belong to those who treasure its existence. Obviously "peace now" is more tuned in to world (and goyish secular) public opinion. Humanitarian rights should be given to those of us who have been forcibly kicked off our once green land, we should be given the money to build and rebuild. Allowing our neighbors free reign at our borders can only bring a new all out war G-d forbid. Don't believe them, for they are our internal enemy.
