1. LMAO
john ,   nz   (08.23.07)
Let's just say I give them the benefit of the doubt that they have smart bombs. But the F-5 jet they use to deliver isn't smart at all. 1970s technology fighter jets with no spare parts? We can easily drop the jets before the jets drop the bomb... or their jets would crash after take off and bomb their own ppl.
2. Is this bomb smarter than the monkey on the above picture??
(08.23.07)
3.  A "Smart Bomb" ???
Ginette ,   Toronto, Canada   (08.23.07)
There i no such thing as a smart bomb. That statement is as dumb as the one who said it.

6. say what you want
israeli   (08.23.07)
im israeli, we can say what we want about iran, but the fact is atleast their leadership isnt as bad as ours... they are actually training and preparing for a regional conflict while we are sitting around and waiting for the other side to bomb our cities another dark day in israel.
7. Smart bombs on old not so smart planes, NOT SO SMART! Maybe
Stewart ,   USA   (08.23.07)
he's refering to the piolet using the plane to guide itself and the bomb into the target Kamekazi style. ;-)
8. olmert FUDD = iran's SECRET WEAPON
Potsie Weber ,   Waubeshau, USA   (08.23.07)

10. Smart Bombs
marty ,   toronto canada   (08.23.07)
Somehow I doubt that Iran developed anything technological. Most countries in the M.E. have one step in the stone age. We've all seen what Iran looks like while watching the evening news. They can't even refine their own oil and experience shortages. They can't even manufacture spare parts for their 1970's fighters. No disrespect but Allah didn't pass along the spirit of innovation to Mohammed and his followers.
11. Let me get this straight...
MIKEUSA ,   LOS ANGELES, USA   (08.23.07)

"We can easily drop the jets before the jets drop the bomb." just like the "missle defense system" stopped those hizbullah rockets last summer?
13. Smart??
Pastor Phil ,   Los Angeles USA   (08.23.07)
Judging by the president of Iran, it would seem they have confused gravity with technology. Perhaps Ahmadinejad would volunteer to be the guidance system. If his guiding role in Iran is the benchmark, then we know it's only gravity. Bombs away!
14. So now they can shell poor Kurds!
enzo ,   london,uk   (08.23.07)
Qased (or Ghased) is arabic. Why not "payam" which is more appropriate, I wonder? These bombs are very very expensive to produce. Why would Tehran, with its limited resources and multiple sanctions, want to waste so much money on a handful of kurdish villages?
15. To #2: Rule No 1: Never ever underestimate your enemy!
Helene ,   Israel   (08.23.07)
16. didn't they
(08.23.07)

17. rantings and ravings
(08.23.07)
we invented this. we invented that.....better take care of your economy since your entire population is starving and hooked on heroin, without income and jbs and the inability to put food on the table. the population is angry and desperate and the only way the monkey can manage them is through severe opression, lying, imprisonment and harrassment. if i was a country that indeed developed the smart bomb, i won't brag about it too much and neither announce it for the "zionist enemy regime" to know. i would use the element of a surprise attack with this so called smart bomb. this is basically rhetoric because the monkey is scared. very very scared, knowing that bushe's days in office are numbered before a new ellection and he won't let go of an attack plan. there is no way in hell bush will leave office with iran in tact. either he'll give the go get them to israeli idf and iaf and navy or they'll do it jointly.
18. Excellent, Iran needs even better equipment.
Peter Morris ,   New Zealand   (08.23.07)
It is vital that Iran is equiped with even better weapons to act as a deterrent against Israels gigantic arsnenal and the irrational controllers of Israel's weapons.(n.b. the Winograd Reports) Its high time Israel weaned itself from starting wars and being adicted to daily killing of Palestinians.
19. To # 18
Israeli Arsi   (08.23.07)
Excuse me?!!!!!!!!!!!! What is vital? For islamic fanatics to fortify their arsenals? Not only is that not in Israel's best interests but the world's. And Israel is NEVER the one who starts wars---it is your arab buddies who do. You leftist non-Israelis need to shut up already! How does Israeli politics concern you--are you an Israeli or an arab? NO, so mind your own business!!!!
20. Smart bombs; dumb people - 'nuff said
russel ,   tlv   (08.23.07)

First and foremost I don't believe in the ayatollah state's peaceful intentions, on the very contrary. Second, a regime like this monkey's which causes famine, strife, pain, dissatisfaction and backwardness to his people just to show the world how voracious they are, is a regime which does not need any further categorizing. Third, I never believed in Arab and Iranian technology, technological minded people and science. They will still have to work very hard to prove themselves to the world. Fourth, as much as I believe in Ahmadinejad's criminal intentions to wipe Israel off the map and to inflict terrifying losses to Americans and westerners, he is bluffing big time because there is enough deterrence to stop him altogether. Even with his sophisticated Russian weaponry he will find a way to get entangled in them, misuse them and get them explode into his face. Pity though for so many millions of peaceful Iranians who are willing to live in peace and who do not see Israel and the U.S. as Satan states. # 12, yes, katyusha rockets are hard to intercept, but next time IDF will surely know how to clean up the mess before the Hizzies try anything. # 18, same old pathetic communist slogans taken from Arafat's time, learnt from Soviet era propaganda. Keep on "convincing" !?
22. uneducated israeli
sam ,   Palestine   (08.23.07)
marty if you now better, Mohammad followers were the first who invented the clock, enhanced a lot on medical issues studied astronomy , when they were invaded all thier books were stolen translated and then they continued thier reaserch on thier studies

24. to no 18
fish   (08.23.07)
It's amazing that somebody thousands miles away judges the situation of a place he obviously barely knows or understands, and gives verdicts of astronomically shameless proportions. Why don't you mind your own business, mate...It's not your country that Iranians threaten to "wipe off" the earth.. We'll deal with our worries ourselves.
25. #24
Mark ,   UK   (08.23.07)
This is a connected world. No. 18 may be living in New Zealand but everybody knows everything these days. There is no place Israel can hide. It is time for Israel to pack in its atrocities and grab a piece of land in the US or Europe maybe. Iranians don't need smart bombs, they only have to wave at Hizbullah and they'll do their job for them. If you're smart try to free you three soldiers. Open your eyes MATE and stop playing computer games so much, there is a real world out there, you don't know what you're missing. Ynet will never post this I don't know why I bother.
26. #25, Don't laugh! Yor Queen has a fatwa on her head

30. Smart Iranians
Thinkpad ,   London   (08.23.07)
It was Iranian bombs & rockets that were used by Hizbullah to kick the IDF's ass in South Lebanon last year. Now that they have developed smart bombs, who knows where they will kick the IDF next?!
