Are you basing that statement on any empirical evidence? I know they've been researching to find a "gay gene" for the past 30 years or so and so far have come up with nothing. Physical traits are not a choice, but character traits are. My eye color, hair color, height, etc.. are genetically coded. I had no choice in them. Character inclinations might be hereditary. I could be born with a proclivity to be quick to anger, to be greedy, to be jealous, etc.. but those traits are vulnerable to my freedom of choice. They are my personal tests and its my duty to pass them. Sexual "preferences" are just that. They are choices we make and although one might have an inclination (even an extreme inclination) towards the opposite sex, he/she can work on themselves (even with the help of therapy) to at least avoid the severe transgression of homosexuality that is held to be an abomination in our Torah. Saying that homosexuality is not a choice is just a stratigic decision to unload the burden of Torah off of one's shoulders. It makes the sinner feel better about himself/herself and less guilt ridden. A thief doesn't HAVE TO steal, a murderer doesn't HAVE TO kill, and a person with homosexual tendencies doesn't HAVE TO have sex with the same gender. Its all up to choice. Being homosexual is not a choice! I am one and oh! how I wish that I weren't one, because it is so hard to live as a homosexual person in this world!
