31. serious error to have apologized w/out knowing facts
dante ,   uk   (10.02.07)
the spokesman should have been fired, court-martialed. they helped to contribute to the perpetuation of this damaging story.
32. That kid didn't die
Barron ,   Israel   (10.02.07)
The whole thing was obviously staged. If the IDF had been shooting in that direction the cameraman would have been shot. To shoot at the kid & his father, the shooter would have had to stand behind the cameraman. Furthermore, there is no blood anywhere. The whole film is a cinematic lie - filmed straight into the "action" as on a movie set. This "killing" is an obvious fabrication and real victims, like Daniel Pearl and many Israelis, were murdered because of it. That kid who played in the film is still around. Anyone wanna make a bet that something "happens" to the uncut version before it's handed over?
33. #5, real figure is 4274, children 857
Danny   (10.02.07)
and the majority were killed "whilst actively participating in hostilities". Note this category excludes stone-throwers, people walking around with guns but not shooting, throwers and carriers of molotovs or empty qassem launchers. But hey who cares about facts? I suggest you go the Iraqi route and multiply the figure by 20 and claim the media is being fooled. how does 80,000 dead Palestinians sound? or 16,000 dead "children"?
34. #18, care to name some people dying from the closure
Danny   (10.02.07)
PS not a good day to claim this, yesterday Egypt let 87 Hamas people go free into Gaza..... Wierdly enough it doesn't let the hundreds of ordinary people in...
35. #4, I assume it is buried....
Danny   (10.02.07)
part of the muslim religion is bury bodies as quickly as possible after death. You don't really need the body, you need the video. I have never heard the argument for why they refuse to release it.
36. RETURN GILAD SHALIT, then talk about footage shmootage

37. Seven years later!!!!
FO ,   Belgium   (10.02.07)
The "Al-Dura Story" is just a amateur videostrip of poor quality. Amazing, that as told by the "father" and the palestinian cameraman of France 2, in the documentary made by Esther Shapira for the german TV, the israeli army shoot "with full automatic weapons without stoping, during about 45 minutes",... and no impact can be seen behind or around "father and son". NOT ONE! If we have to believe the "father" and the cameraman, than thousands of bullets, shot by automatic fire, should have hit the wall. No trace of one bullet. One should not forget that the impact of even ONE bullet shot into a wall is quite impressive! That the palestinians try to fabricate by all means a blood libel is rather understandable: as the french say: "c'est de bonne guerre". What is not understandable is the reaction or rather the lack of reaction from the israeli authorities. Let us not forget that the "Al-Dura affair" was, and still is, the trigger of an antisemitic campaign through Europe and the whole world. Therefore the apprehensive behaviour by the israeli authorities and the army about this matter, is, and let us not be shy to say it openly, an unpardonable fault.
38. Another Blood Libel Story . Medieval Passover Story from Mos

39. #32 now Israel's denial brings more damage
(10.02.07)
the kid did not die. He is living in his God's custody; he is shaheed.
40. #17 why Israelis do not follow suit?
(10.02.07)
they had much more occasions to celebrate. I guess they are busy planing death of other Palestinian kids; Israelis are more practical.
41. blood libel?
east ,   europe   (10.02.07)
I am just amazed by some of the reactions to this story. Blood libel? Get out of the middle ages won't you, raize your eyes from the cloak of victim-hood. This boy was shot. By the IDF and once again you are trying to blame the Palestinians for their own oppression. It's all their fault that they are occupied and subjected to walls, and tanks and bulldozers, and incursions, and appropriation. COME ON!! Didn't we hear all of this rubbish years and years ago?
42. Paliwood at its best.
Avraham ,   Netivot   (10.02.07)
43. east europe
israeli ,   israel   (10.02.07)
I thought communism was over in Europe. You don't have to follow the hard line political ideology anymore, you don't have to regurgitate the indoctrination force-fed to you. Think freely, as they say in Romania, that is use your own brain cells. Kommissars are no longer around to punish your for doing it. As to this conflict, you obviously don't have a clue.
44. #40, these the sort of "children" you mean?
Danny   (10.02.07)
like Hamam Ahmad 'Abd al-Qader Nasser, 15, killed firing on soldiers at karni. Or maybe you mean Maher Hamad 'Abed Abu Hashish, 15, killed collecting qassem launchers, with two other teenage friends? or Mussa Ahmad Musleh Zuhd, 14, killed standing next to rocket launchers? Or Muhammad Ibrahim 'Abed Bau'lusha, 15, killed while shooting at soldiers? Or Hamam 'Abd al-Ghani Muhammad Hamdan, 13, killed whilst collecting rocket launchers? Or Abd al-Hadi al-Hamaideh, 13, killed after throwing explosive device? Or Isma'il Abu Nadi, 13, killed trying to enter Netzarim settlement with explosives and gun? Or his armed colleagues, Anwar Hamduneh, 13, and Yusef Zakut, 14? etc, etc, etc
45. #43
Richard ,   London UK   (10.02.07)
Pardon. What are you talking about? What has Romania and communism got to do with it? I am thinking freely, which is why I can see beyond the 'all Arabs are terrorist' line that is perpetuated by elements of the Isreali media. And I can also understand that there is an attempt to discredit this man over the death of his son and that somehow it was the responsibility of the French TV. Thats is just tiresome. The same was attempted with Tom Hurndall. He was killed by the IDF but it was his fault - according to the Isreali army - because he got in the way.
46. #43 & 45

Lets not forget Rachel Corri ..she got in the way too....
47. Want to see the proof of this hoax online?

48. Ynet credit to No 32 Barron , Israel (10.02.07)
ben ,   singapore   (10.02.07)
Ynet, you should consider putting a report on the little boy in that photo. I am sure he is still alive and not killed as it is blood libeled and defamed and slandered. Mr. Ali Waked please write : - )~ ...credit to no 32 barron of Israel. ben singapore
49. Very sad
Leah   (10.02.07)
I can not imagine a greater pain then losing a child especially having one die in your arms. My heart goes out to this father but I did watch the televised clip scene of the shooting and it is very obvious to any objective person the gunfire which killed his son came from the Palestinian side. To me this is just another example of why the Arabs will never be accept any responsbility for their actions and would be willing to blame Israel for anything even when it is obvious that Israel is not to blame. That's one of the reasons why I sadly think there will not be any peace at least in the next few generations.
50. A Hoax?
Leah   (10.02.07)
The Palestinians are known for presenting the corpses of dead children in front of the media cameras to garner world sympathy . I was just wondering if anyone knew if there was ever a picture of this child's body? That would prove the death of this person was not a hoax.
51. #45
israeli ,   israel   (10.02.07)
Eastern Europe (including Romania) was communist until 18years ago. Some parts of it still are. People were indoctrinated against the values of the Western world. Anti-Semitism (although carefully disguised) was rampant. East Europe's tb just smacks of it. The Israeli media in no way reflects the "all Arabs are terrorists" slogan, especially not ynet. And I also think that it is tiresome that we are being blamed for every death happening in Gaza. It was not even Israel who began to question the circumstances of Muhammad's death. So are you blaming us again for something other people do? And yes, Tom Hurndall and Rachel Corrie are dead (and the circumstances of their deaths are again shady, to say the least). That is very unfortunate. But they chose to join the war. And it is a known fact that people die in wars. Thousands of Israelis have lost their lives in wars imposed on them because the Arabs cannot live with the idea of a Jewish state in the ME. It is not a matter of borders, it is a matter of principle. There was no Jewish State/Israel during WWII, still Amin el-Husseini volunterred the carry out the final solution in Palestine. Even the Jewishness of European Jewry is being questioned by some Arabs. Makes one wonder what Hitler held against millions of Jews residing in Europe for centuries, if not millenia (some Jews are reported to have arrived in Europe with the Romans, certainly ahead of many Europeans). So now the Arabs are trying to kill us for not being that which Hitler decreed was punishable by death? Therefore, think clearly and consider the facts. Pardon granted.
52. #46, enough already
israeli ,   israel   (10.02.07)
supposed we were indeed responsible for al-Dura, Corrie and Hurndall. Just suppose. How many Israelis have died as a result of the vicious pimping of their deaths by every conceivable media outlet, politicians, members of the general public, etc? Are we to be blamed and killed forever? An eye for an eye not enough for you? Are we to pay ten thousand eyes for one eye before you are satisfied and give it a rest? According to your logic, we should have wiped Germany, Austria, Poland, Russia, the Ukraine, etc off the map long ago, as millions of Jews were ruthlessly murdered only 60-70 years ago.
53. #18 Israel must not feed the enemy
AK   (10.02.07)
Somehow I don't remember New Zealand sending food packages to Japan and Germany in 1944. Daily rockets are being fired into israel from gaza and you expect Israelis to feed those monsters. Get out the US out of UN and get the UN out of the US. Personally, I recomend to move the UN to New Zealand.
54. #49
east ,   europe   (10.02.07)
Leah, of course I never thought of that. It is the Arabs who are to blame for the years of occupation, the bulldozers, the tanks, the incursions and the WALL. And it's the boys fault that he was shot. Gosh there was me thinking it was the IDF and the politicians who appropriated Palestinian land and blockaded a million plus people in a tiny area and collectively punished the whole lot of them.
55. #51
Richard ,   London UK   (10.02.07)
I don't think there is anything shady about the death of Tom Hurndall and Rachel Corrie. One was shot in the head by the IDF and the other was flattened by a bulldozer driven by the IDF. Or perhaps the palestinians were driving it. I have seen very little evidence of this web site doing anything other than labelling Palestinains as Terrorists and Arabs as decietful and liars. Point me in the right direction. . Oh, by the way, The Romans didn't arrive in Europe, they were already there .
56. #35 (Danny): buried?
sk ,   USA   (10.02.07)
"part of the muslim religion is bury bodies as quickly as possible after death." Yes, but corpses can be exhumed. And, the Pals have been known to exhume corpses to move them to sites of "massacres." Still, autopsies can be performed. And don't doubt for a minute that the one wasn't performed was either because (1) there was no body, or (2) the body wouldn't have supported the Pal claims.
57. #50
east ,   europe   (10.02.07)
Boy looks pretty scared to me. But he could have been acting, eh. It's all a sham. The wall, the bulldozers, the tanks, the F15s they are all faked, a figment of the decietful Arab's imagination. None of it is true. Yes I have seen those pictures of dead Palestinaisn kids. Do you know I thought they were dead but it looks like I was wrong all the time. They were just pretending to 'garner my sympathy'. Silly me, I fell for it.
58. Corri&Hurndall were playing "Chicken" in Gaza.
Alan ,   SA   (10.02.07)
Like those snotty nosed kids who play on the Railway Lines in Britain. You always see grainy CCTV shots of them before they get hit by the London-Birmingham Virgin Express. Blivmi- they will find that Al Dura Matza Libel kid one day unless Spielberg finds him first. Pals &all the Nasrallas & Persians have pioneered "suffering" on TV movies. Like those Beirut shots with that smoke .Like that Gaza Beach "massacre". Then their Galloway Gangs scream blue murder in London .I think the "world " is starting to realise whats going on.
59. #55,
Danny   (10.02.07)
From recollection, Tom Hurndall's killer is in prison and Tom Hurndall most certainly put himself in the way which is why they are called "human shields". As for Rachel Corrie, the driver clearly didn't see her and she just stood there clearly expecting him to stop when he did see her - which he never did. If I jump out in front of a speeding lorry, you can't then claim the driver "murdered" me. BTW can we confirm you are just as outraged at the 53 foreigners killed by Palestinians as you are by these two foreigners - and the four other foreigners killed by the IDF. Oh and by the way, the tradition is that the Romans arrived from Troy, which is not Europe - unless Turkey has been admitted to the EU... and if you bother to read the post what she means is the Romans imported the Jews when they conquered Judea.
