1. EU didnĀ“t condemn months of missile shootings
(03.02.08)
against Israel some double standard
2. #2 you mean years right?
(03.02.08)
Sderot has been under rocket attacks since october 2008. So that's 8 years of daily bombings.. I want to see any other country putting up with that. Bunch of hypocrites..
3. Don't waste Ynet space with EU drivel.
(03.02.08)
4. not enough force
Benjamin ,   Mill Valley Californ   (03.02.08)
It seems to me that if the rockets keep coming- then it says Israeli actions are too minimal. Only when the result is capitulation on the Hamas side to stop all rockets, has Israel truly applied the appropriatte force.
5. I sent this to the EU
Aryeh Wetherhorn ,   Elazar, Israel   (03.02.08)
I am writing to you because I feel the recent statement on this subject does NOT reflect the policies that are, and should be, in effect regarding attempts at reaching a peaceful solution to the conflict. The current main obstacle to continued progress is NOT Israeli actions, but Palestinians opposition to the process. That opposition comes from the Hamas party that controls Gaza. Hamas has rejected all agreements with Israel reached by previous Palestinian representatives, and actively opposes further progress by direct attacks on Israeli civilian targets. The EU should have condemned the Hamas sponsored rocket attacks as a violation of international law and agression against a neighboring state. That action ought to have taken place when the first rockets flew from Gaza into Israel and it should have been repeated vociferously. Had such action been taken by the EU, among others, the current state of open warfare might have been avoided. I must add that statements about "disproportionate" force are in no way helpful in the absence of immediate and open condemnation of the Palestinian (Hamas) aggression. I am sure you are aware that they have long been using organizations that they claim are not under their direct control in order to pursue an agenda of murderous violence against Israel (and Jews worldwide). These organizations also hide their operations by using the local civil population as a shield which is also in contravention to accepted international practice. Progress towards a solution can be made only if ANY violence initiated by Hamas and like-minded groups is also clearly labeled as disproportianate. There is, after all, nothing more disporportianate in the use of force than attacks against unarmed civilians outside the points of direct confrontation.
6. What is the fair proportion of dead Jews to dead Arabs???
Alan ,   SA   (03.02.08)
7. Did Israel agree to be rocketed at Annapolis?
(03.02.08)
8. EU = So predictible so stupid
Steve ,   London, UK   (03.02.08)
Why is everything Israel does 'dispraportionate'. If the Palestinians would stop firing rockets there would be no need for any of this violence. All they have to do is stop - but the EU can't understand that. When Israel was 'proportionate' and did nothing for years, the rocket firing only got worse.
9. E.U condenms
jeremy ,   hula valley kibbutz   (03.02.08)
So What else is new? Let's be real here, when it comes to the E.U they are a bunch of anti Israeli people. All these politicains do is whin about what we do to protect ourselves. In war there is no disportionet response. You hit hard and keep hitting until the other sides gives.
10. Where was the UN when the rockets started?
Talula ,   Israel   (03.02.08)
NO WAY did they think we would sit and tolerate it. Fact is, they have to make the obligatory comment, just to show they are taking notice, then it's business as usual. The bottom line is, they just don't care enough about what goes on in the Middle East.
11. shut up EU !!!
stephane ,   france   (03.02.08)
where have you been when during 7 years sderot residents where bombed from gaza on a daily base !? why don't you talk especially when you know that israel disengaged from gaza in 2005 and the rockets didn't stop and even increased! bentch of cowards! you think that kassam it's nothing because " it's almost " not jilling people ?? i know the way you think... would you agree to live in paris, london, oslo with kassam evreyday? even if it's not killing everyday, would you agree to live in such conditions? i know you would have prefered the opposite: seeing jews dying in sderot everyday and only sometime palestinian killed...sorry to disappoint you, but israel has THE RIGHT and the DUTY to defend its citizens. and... by the way, when jews when slaughtered in europe in 1940, where have you been? so just shut up!

3Jay ,   Israel   (03.02.08)

16. EU condemn the wrong ones
vicky ,   Ashkelon Israel   (03.02.08)
After all its their millions of Euros that pay for all the qassams and buchshees that goes on in Gaza. Over 7000 rockets, how much does 1 cost, plus what the Hamass pay the young kids for firing them?
17. more blood libel
Yehud   (03.02.08)
US ally Saudi Arabia compared Israel's offensive in the Gaza Strip to Nazi war crimes on Sunday and called on the international community to stop what it called the "mass killings" of Palestinians. "Saudi Arabia, which condemns the Israeli war crimes against the Palestinian people and the threats of Israeli officials to transform Gaza into an inferno, sees that Israel is simulating through these actions the Nazi war crimes... Saudi Arabia urges the international community, peace-sponsoring countries and the international Quartet to work to curb the Israeli military machine and stop it from carrying out mass killings and destruction against the Palestinian people and their properties." 18. So What Is Appropriate Force Against Rockets?
emanon ,   USA   (03.02.08)
So once more the crowds in the Coliseum are screaming at the Jew, buried in the ground up to his neck, "Jew, fight fair!", as he tries to bite the only part of the lion he can reach. What would be a appropriate response to rockets raining down on Israel? Should it be the same amount of force in the opposite direction? Does this mean then that Israel has free reign to fire its own rockets back into major civilian areas? No. I, for one, think Israel is doing the right thing. If the terrorists insist on using their human shield strategy, it is inevitable there will be casualties among those shields. This is totally different from firing rockets at houses with NO MILITARY ACTION BEING STAGED FROM THEM, or firing rockets at schools and hospitals. That is what the terrorists are doing to the people of Israel. To update my opening analogy, the EUs continued condemnation of Israel is the equivalent chastising the kid who finally stands up to the school yard bully after being battered for years. Sure the teacher directs a few words to the bully, but it is the victim of the bullying that is being given the harsher punishment because the teacher is afraid of the bully.
19. EU DIDN"T
David ,   Renana   (03.02.08)
E U did not condemn 8000 rockets including katushas fired on Israeli women and children as disproportionate. What a bunch of antisemites. At least we do not target women, children and schools on purpose, the same unfotunately cannot be said for the palastinians.

26. Where's the EU or UN when rockets hit Sderot & Ashkelon?
Nannette ,   London   (03.02.08)
They don't care about Jewish lives, and never have done. Didn't anyone learn the lessons of WW2 and ask who could have stopped the genocide, but didn't?

Don't forget. All the arms can't helop you if G-D dosen't want it to be. Wake up and see the truth. Don't be false lioke the rest of the World. !!! .
30. Same old story, Israel is always the villain...
Flavio ,   Sao Paulo, Brazil   (03.02.08)
...no matter what happens, Palestinians can be sure they will be exempt of any responsability. Rocket barrages have been fired upon Sderot for months and not a single word of disapproval has come from the EU and the UN. When Israel decides to act in order to protect its citizes, harsh condemnations immediately follows, 'oh poor them, poor children, poor civilians, stop right now'. Israeli authorities should make their best decisions and carry them hout whenever and wherever needed, for no one else on Earth will care and/or protect Israelis and Jews, except Israel itsel. May G-d bless chaialei Tsahal and all people of Isral, hu yaa'seh shalom aleinu ve al kol Israel, ve imru amen.
