I was just wandering where this so-called lengthy process has been taken place. I recall when Yassir Arafat was still alive a convoy of 3 black fortified Suburban SUV's has been blown into pieces (4 DOS employees dead) while on it's way to Gaza-city from Israel. The official version for them being there was 'to award Fulbright scholarship grants'. Of course the real reasons were covert negotiations with Hamas. Arafat just showed to Americans that he's still the master of the house. Now with the chaos in Gaza and American interests shifted from Gaza to Iraq no more covert political activity from DOS needed. Therefore no more scholarships. But I bet these scholarships did not disappeared in vain and were transferred to a West Bank to prop up Abbas and his cronies.

Look how forgiving the Israelis are to negotiate with their enemies; and every time they do, the Palestinians attack them. So let the scholarships go to West Bank Palestinians who do not lob rockets at Israeli towns. Gazans could police themselves if they wanted to, but they elected Hamas to govern them and to attack Israel. Or were the elections rigged? There are lots of ways to make the Hamas leaders sick and incapacitated if the Gazans really wanted peace with Israel. The media rarely reports on the victims of terrorist bombing, as to how they cope with missing limbs or how their parents now have to support their brain-dead child for life but that's a reality. Israel doesn't deal with entrance and exit visas to the Gaza, Hamas does! It's a well known fact that many Arabs want to flee with all their money and belongings but it's Hamas that is preventing people living this prison! Hamas doesn't care about people, they're just using the Arab populace as pawns in an Islamic propaganda war against Israel. It's Hamas that has set up a blockade against the Israelis from the delivery food and fuel to the Gaza. Hamas lies and manipulates the world that it's the Israelis that are squeezing the food & fuel supply delivers to Gaza! Arabs wants out of Gaza, it's just that the world's press isn't reporting the facts that Hamas is deliberately imprisoning their own population due to an ultra narcissistic methodology of dehumanizing people to such an extent that all their anger and resentment gets focussed on the Jews! Anyone who doesn't want to live like a deprived animal and tries to leave Gaza is either intimidated or killed! Ms. Kawik's ambition to leave Gaza and get a westernized education is a threat to Hamas. And that's why she can't get an exit visa to leave Gaza; it's Hamas who's responsible not the Israelis! Finally, Ms. Kawik could escape illegally to Egypt, still claim her Fulbright scholarship and either go to the U.S. or go to Qatar, where many of the best American universities are getting their campuses build free of charge by the Emir through his oil money!

But then she will be killed by fellow Arabs. Everyone entering US should tell that he/she is not going to kill Americans. All Islamic students in US support bombing of US. Ask anyone on US campuses.

We are (whether rightly or wrongly) held to a higher standard than the barbarians. No, this is not as bad as a missile attack. No, this is not as bad as a homicide bomber.
