And wrting Shabbat , is this Pikuach Nefesh ? Don't preach religion if you write Shabbat .
63. Who is really a Jew ??
Dennis ,   USA   (06.14.08)
Borger should come to the Chicago. We have people that are Jews as a matter of convenience. They shun other Jews, dont respect the Sabath, dont go to shul & do their business, mostly, with non-jews. So whats new ???

67. #40 and attempting to whitewash bias
Joe Jew ,   J'lem   (06.14.08)
labeling anything more Jewish than yourself shows both bias and intolerance. Labeling commitment to Judaism As" fanatic " or "Extreme" simply fits into a paradigm of mediocrity. A working definition of Fanatic: Anyone who takes his life -goals more seriously than I take mine.

69. Comment, if accurate, is true for judahism, not jews en toto
Brian ,   Reading, Pa, USA   (06.15.08)
Assuming the quote is accurate, please note that the Torah does not dictate the things that distinguish Orthodox from Conservative from Reform... Those three labels indicate which Rabbi's, not which Prophets, one heeds. Look at how many Christian faiths heed the bible, to greater or lesser degree. Muslims come in several flavors. Much of Rabbinic judahism does not come from what Prophets ever said, and is nowhere in the Torah. Rather it's in rabbinic writings, which should carry much less weight that Prophetic dictations.

You are a brazen ignoramus, and out of your dept, not that Yenta net is Mensa or anything close,
71.  Here's a paradox:
Voice of Reason ,   Here & Now   (06.15.08)
You are 100% correct. I am here, I wear a kipa sruga & I agree with you. It is for the Allmighty to judge us and not for us to judge. As long as someone is not harming anyone else in any way then how they live their life is between them and the Allmighty whoever or whatever he/she is. We here have achieved allot, imagine how much more we could if we were not busy putting each other down. Don't we have enough enemies out there without picking on each other? Think about it.
72. #54 atheism killed more humans than religioins ever did
(06.15.08)
in the last hundred years "modern' atheists killed more than religion ever did.
73. Jews in Argentina
NN ,   Israel   (06.15.08)
I agree with Borger. Most of Argentina's Jews are not religious and the result is a very high rate of intermarriage and the children of these intermarriages are not being raised Jewish. I read only a couple of years ago that there are about 200,000 Jews in Argentina and 800,00 others who are not Jewish but are descendants of Jews or else married to Jews. In another generation or two, the secular Jews there will disappear as Jews.
74. We are FURIOUS WITH borger and with the fanatic orthodox
Mario ,   Santiago, Chiel   (06.16.08)

But people were'nt killed in name of "atheism" . It was ALWAYS in the name of religion , or for god , that people were murdered . A big difference .
