You sound like an Arab with whom most Israelis would have no problem getting along. But you ought to keep in mind that in most cases the negative feelings on the part of Israelis toward Arabs has been a reaction to the ongoing violence on the part of the Palestinians. It's not to say there aren't Israelis who are racists and just flat out hate Arabs, but they're not the ones who are running the country. Also, don't forget that many Israeli Jews originally came from Arab countries and, for instance, in my husband's family they were very much steeped in Arabic culture. In fact, his grandmother only spoke Arabic even though she had lived in Israel from the time she was a teen-ager. But I saw for myself how attitudes changed after the first intifada. There was no longer Arabic music playing on the radio and no Arabic being spoken in my in-law's house (except when the grandmother who didn't speak Hebrew was there). So while I can certainly agree that nobody should be consumed by hatred, I think you'll find that most of the hatred is coming from the Arab side and the problem is that it's being inculcated in the next generation, so the possibility that the hatred will come to an end is probably very remote indeed.

I do not agree that most of the hatred is coming from the Arab side. From what I see here, at least, Israelis have a lot of hatred for Arabs as well, and most of the comments I read here are flat out racist. Extremely racist actually, not just towards Arabs, but also towards Islam. It must be understood that the hatred some Arabs have is the result of the many crimes committed by the Israeli government, which fuels violence, which in turns results in hatred from Israeli citizens, and it is just a vicious circle that will go on and on unless people truly belive that only peace, which necessitates making some concessions, is the only solution.
