32. # 23 Maybe Pakistanis and Iranians Have More Pride
Bill ,   US   (07.26.08)
When ISM'ers protest Israel they are given free room and board in the homes of Israeli leftists. Perhaps Pakistanis and Iranians, even those who are criticial of their governments, have too much self-respect to welcome hypocritical, self-righteous westeners into their homes to criticize their country and throw rocks at their security personnel.
33. I am from Canada -DEPORT THIS FELLOW CANADIAN
Mark Kerlen ,   Canada   (07.26.08)
And ban the criminal for 10 years...
34. # 27 Calling Israel Racist
Thomas   (07.26.08)
Kind of rings hollow when black Darfurian Muslims are entering Israel to escape living in an racist Arab nightmare.
35. To Kim #27
PeterO ,   Toronto Canada   (07.26.08)
Its not just Zionists that are hilarious, most Jews are. Take a look at the long list of successful Jewish comendians. As to your broader point, please advise me of a more tolerant and open society in terms of freedom of press, assembly, religion in the middle east. I am curious. Since you make such strong statements. Finally, this joker was not taken because he protests, lots of people protest everyday in Israel without incident. He was taken to prevent him from being the next Rachel Corrie. He and his supporters should thank the IDF for saving him from putting himself in dangerous situations.
36. ism and home-grown supporters
fish   (07.26.08)
ISM, Adam Shapiro and their ilk.. we saw a long time ago that this poeple come here with an agenda - to vilify Israel and help Pal-s even with the logistics of deliviring suicide bombers to Israel ( remember the case of two Pakis with Brit passports - I won't apologize for the word "Pakis" - this race actively supports the extermniation of my race, so I have every right to brand you as I want). ISM MUST BE DECLARED ILLEGAL, and every westerner entering our country must sign a paper that he is not a part of it. When a foreign tourist makes a mess in London, Moscow or Beijing - they are arrested and prosecuted. Israel is a place where international hooligans can expect a fatherly pat on their shoulder, and where they get very upset when police kicks their asses... DON't ALLOW ISRAEL TO BECOME A LAUGHING STOCK!
37. dear ISM, keep safe, not ur photos, but ur story matters

38. ISM
Fussion ,   Israel   (07.26.08)
Its pretty amazing to see all the frothing mouths on this forum but nobody really cares to see the human rights abuses. I am sure half of the respondents would not care if Victor had even met his death. I am sure that the army did beat him but obviously anyone in an uniform can beat as much as he wants without much repercussion. One needs to ask ones self, if Israel, with its imperial ways will survive in the long run.
39. Kim #27
mark ,   lsrael   (07.26.08)
Vigilante is spelt with an 'e' not an 'i'. That you can't spell places you together with 90% of the educationally challenged but doesn't your computer have a spellcheck?
40. What a hoser. Take off eh.(end)

41. #33-Mark Kerlan & fellow apologists...
Sean ,   Montreal, Quebec   (07.26.08)
' ban the criminal' ? The crime was what again? Oh yeah, taking photos in a supposedly democratic country. I don't know what the young man was thinking. He should know better than to take pictures. It was very unCanadian of him. I sure hope they don"t let him back in this country. We don't need any of that nefareous picture taking going on here. Do you realize how many armed police we would have to hire just to beat sense into these young people ? No . If they are going to take pictures let them go elsewhere!
42. to #27 Kim
Ricardo Macher ,   KarneiShomron Israel   (07.26.08)
Hi Kim, I am not Canadian, actually never been there. What would you think if I start acting against tha Canadian government? I'm not talking about freedom of speech, I'm talking about moral rights. Do I who has never been there, knows nothing about Canada and have no intention of moving to Canada, have the right to help throwing stones in Toronto since I believe Quebec should be independent? Sounds stupid, ah? Well, that's how you sound!
43. To Mark # 39
Petero ,   Toronto, Canada   (07.26.08)
Mark, Kim's absurd post can be attacked from a number of angles to show that she is essentially retarded. I think pointing out spelling errors is not as effective as pointing out holes in her position. I reviewed my own critique of her found above and found a spelling error, and I have many many years of post graduate education under my belt. I think it is her opinion and not her spelling that displays a lack of knowledge and comprehension.
44. #41- Sean, Montreal -and other members of ISM
Mark Kerlen ,   Canada   (07.26.08)
That guy is a member of an organization who protects, hides, terrorists who blow up people in pizza parlors, buses, schools. HE IS A CRIMINAL. He is protesting against a wall that is responsible for the dramatic drop in suicide bombings. If he wants to bring down the wall, then he should tell his friends to give up blowing up babies and their mothers in the restaurants and buses.
45. The poor boy was punched in the face!
Fred ,   USA   (07.27.08)
Let us all feel sorry for him! Had he been detained in any of the 22 Arab dictatorships then he would grasp about the Middle Eastern reality.
46. ISM
gil stein ,   aptos,ca usa   (07.27.08)
the ISM website states that it does not oppose "armed resistance". It is a pro-terrorist group,. it is neither pro-peace nor pro-democratic.
47. Petero
mark ,   lsrael   (07.27.08)
Of course you're right. I noted that the ludicrous content of her post had been discredited by far abler wielders of the pen than I. I just felt that I had to get in my tuppence worth without being repetitve. Besides i have a Pavlovian response to spelling errors honed by years of English teaching. By the way I'm never sure whether the likes of Kim warrant the intellectual effort involved in a refutation of her post.
48. # 41 I'll Explain It To You
(07.26.08)
The ISM is responsible for causing $150,000 worth of damage to Israel's security barrier. When the Border Police try to control them, Mr. Wonderful starts taking pictures of the "undeserved brutality". Israel is a democracy and its citizens have democractic rights. This Canadaian is a guest who made himself unwelcome. Your government denied entry to an Ethiopian government for merely being suspected of a crime. Guilty in until proven in innocent in Canada I guess eh? What about the Mexican immigrant rights activist what trouble was she going to cause Canada? None. Is Canada a democracy?
49. Canadian go home!!
Ale ,   BA Argentine   (07.27.08)
I just want to express my angry for the arab occupation of jewish lands in East Jerusalem and other areas of the so called "West Bank"
50. Please lock him up. We don't need him back.
jj ,   montreal canada   (07.27.08)
51. Deport McDiarmid to Gaza
Great White North ,   Canada   (07.27.08)
We have enough problems here in Canada without this terrorists. Please don't send him here, send him to Gaza.
52. anonymous #48
Sean ,   Montreal, Quebec   (07.27.08)
If you point out injustices commited by the Canadaian government, then bravo to you. If you choose to use them as excuses for brutal behaviour then shame on you. I lost count of how many people use Darfur and other violent countries as an excuse for Jewish treatment of human rights activists. I know...you just don't like them. People taking pictures and seeking peace are your enemy. I didn't really need anything explained by someone who doesn't have a clue what they are talking about; but thanks anyway.
53. Such foreigners should be kicked out
Brod ,   USA   (07.27.08)
These foreign agents working against Israel's interests should be kicked out. They come in the guise of students, volunteers, etc, when actually they are AntiSemites/Islamist-Jihadists.
54. Canadian student
Kravi ,   Sacramento, USA   (07.27.08)
I say, Kick his A** one more time and send him packing back to Canada. Tell him his time would be better spent protesting Religious freedom of speech issues in his own toilet of a country. Canadian Pastors are forbidden by law from even teaching the Bible's moral law from the pulpit if it criticizes their protected class. Also, tell him to let his buddies who want to come over know they can expect the same A** kicking!
55. To all defenders of Human Rights :
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (07.27.08)
You should have the courage to denounce and to fight the real fanatics, to defend the real victims of cruelty, perversion and abuse of power as shown at : http://xrl.us/biz87
56. Canadian Student Arrest - response to criticisms
Robert MacDiarmid ,   Kingston Ontario   (07.27.08)
People who want to condemn my son or the ISM can’t do it with cheap attempts to accuse farmers who protest at having their 100 year old olive trees cut down, or their land seized behind an apartheid wall, or being cut off from water, of being Hamas terrorists. Build your wall on your own border and there's no problem. This is a land grab, pure and simple ‘Anti-Semitic’ and ‘leftist’ also get thrown in by people who are short on good arguments Another pathetic argument is “why protest about Israeli abuses when a protester would be treated much worse in Iran.“ One difference is that Israel is a democratic 'friend' and beyond criticism in this country. ( A UN post that had been in the same location for 25 years was bombed by the Israelis during the Lebanon invasion, killing 4 UN monitors, including Kingston resident Canadian Major Paeta Hess-von Kruedener,. The Israelis got off with ‘oops sorry, wrong map’) . Somalia, Mozambique, China are not allies. The other difference is that there is adequate press coverage of Mugabe’s reign of terror, the war crimes in Sudan, the ayatollah’s iron rule of Iran. There is absolutely zero coverage of Israeli human rights abuses in North America. Cheap cell phone cameras and the internet are bringing to light the full range of Israeli human rights abuses in the Occupied territories. If people want to try to defend the indefensible, go ahead, but you're going to find it more difficult from now on Answer this John Pilger – From Triumph to Torture http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2008/jul/02/israelandthepalestinians.civilliberties Shooting a bound, blindfolded Palestinian http://www.btselem.org/English/
57. The land belongs to the Jews
Leah ,   Israel   (07.27.08)
In 1922 everyone agreed to the partition plan. Everything west of the Jordan was and is to be the Jewish homeland. Jordan which is the Palestinian state of Jordan occupies 78% of the Mandate while Israel is only on 22% of mandate land therefor ALL Palestinians shold be helped to resettle in the Palestinian State of Jordan where there is already a Palestinian population of 75%
58. #57 You cannot make sense with garbage
Barry ,   USA   (07.27.08)
Unless Israel shows its spine they will continue to challenge the Israeli sovereignity.
59. #56 There is NO determined border
Frank ,   USA   (07.27.08)
because there has never been a Palestinian Arab state in the history of this mankind.
60. # 52
(07.27.08)
I don't think you know what you are talking about. That $150,000 in damage was caused in the Naalin riots is a fact. That ISM instigates problems with the border guards, egging them on to respond to their destruction of Israel's security barrier and then taking pictures of the police using force against them as if it were unprovoked is also a fact. It remains a question if the ISM would have any picture to take if they weren't instigating violence in the first place. If you insist on the belief that I simply don't like human rights and peace, that's fine. It's as absurd as the claim that ISM represents any of those things. Nobody is using Darfur as an excuse for anything. But it's fair to ask why Arabs and their supporters whine about human rights abuses in Israel while the Arab League condemned any investigation into Darfur. I've read reports on the BBC (hardly a Zionist publication) of Arabs raping little boys, forcing conversions, shooting up schools, stealing children and forcing them into slavery etc. But for whatever reason nothing in southern Sudan competes with the hue and cry that results from an Arab getting shot in the toe. It's laughable. And why shouldn't Canada's human rights history be brought into question. Arabs in Israel had the right to vote before your First Nations were given that right. Arabs in Israel always had the right to practice their religions while Canadian Natives had to be given permission to perform their ceremonial dances on their own land by the Canadian government in the 1950s. Please spare me the "we're the good guys now" speech.
