1. Abbas and other arabs
Ricardo Macher ,   KarneiShomron Israel   (08.12.08)
Well, this is it! Let see now the real size of our governors be that Olmert, Livni or Barak. The only logical answer for this is simple: You don't want it? Is it unacceptable? OK, so that's history, we are in ground zero and come back when you are ready to talk. That is the only logical answer. It ia the only answer that will really get things moving. Kick the table and let them, if they are willing, pick it up!
2. Dignity or death
ramallah ,   ramallah   (08.12.08)
100 % or we will continue the struggle against the occupiers , not life without dignity , 100 % is the answer.
3. What a surprise, Not!
PatriotUSA ,   Redmond, Oregon   (08.12.08)
This is just further evidence that this group of islamofacists will not settle unless it includes everything including the kitchen sink. Israel should give olmert and livini to these liars and murdering thugs and not give away ANYTHING else. The west bank and gazastan would make a nice glass parking lot and it is too bad Israel is being led by cowards who are only concerned with saving their own skins.
4. Negotiating with the Pals
Harry ,   USA   (08.12.08)
Israel, when you agree to give the Pals your country in addition to the entire West Bank and Gaza then you will have peace. Since that will never happen, thank G-d, there will never be peace. So you might as well obliterate your enemies since they are trying to do the same to you. Give War a Chance!
5. Yeah, I guess eternal war is much better...
Common Sense ,   IL   (08.12.08)
...reminds me of the Syrians who snubbed 99% of the Golan being given them for peace and normalization (they said even with 100% the latter wouldn't be offered!). Another opportunity lost, and it makes me wonder why we negotiated with the PA. Heck, you want 100%? We've got Taibe, Um El Fachem, Kfar Kassem and a few other Arab "settlements" that interrupt the "continuity" of our Jewish homeland, so perhaps we can move the boundary so that the favor is returned?
6. Olmert has already established his legacy...
Concerned Israeli   (08.12.08)
F A I L U R E
7. They will never accept a deal...
Adam ,   Raanana, Israel   (08.12.08)
Not until that deal is all of Israel because Jerusalem is just the start. Its time for Israel to wake up... hell it was time almost thirty years ago
8. History repeats
Adam Eliyahu Berkowi   (08.12.08)
Does anyone else remember when Peres dug Arafat out of a bunker in Cypress and got him to sign. Arafat started dictating terms and running the show. Abbas? He has a thousand kalachnikovs pointed at his head right now. The only one who can pull him out of the grave is Olmert. And because Olmert is such dusgusting stupid puts, he'll hand Abbas the wheel and let him drive all of Israel into the sea.
9. The Palestinians outgh to hire
Al ,   US   (08.12.08)
Hizbollah to negotiate with Israel on their behalf if they wish to see positive results ;-)
10. #1 Ricardo, sounds good to me!
Khalid ,   Gaza City   (08.12.08)
We're not picking up anything, and no your offer isn't acceptable. You don't want to talk? You want to keep settlements and keep the occupation? Then don't cry about rockets on top of your homes and blasts in your streets. We can "kick the table" too, you know. Whatever the hell that means.
11. Abbas Rejects
jack bergman ,   brooklyn Ny. USA   (08.12.08)
I have not heard anything from Abbas or his reps. offering anything to Israel security, stopping terrorism except what Arafat called "Piece". It is time for Abbas to wake up.
12. conflicting demands
Aaron ,   Boston   (08.12.08)
They want the pre-67 borders and a contiguous state? The pre-67 borders weren't in any way contiguous. I think it's time for the Palestinians to draw up a proposal of their own, map included, that would satisfy them. That way, the world would have a nice visual image of the absurdity of their demands and have some official record to go by next time they change their minds. Unfortunately the Palestinians would much rather have their manipulative PR people do nothing constructive except cause a lot of people around the world who know nothing about the conflict to sympathize with them.
13. Death can always be arranged!
jb ,   Yahopitzville   (08.12.08)
To you and your ilk "dignity means the elimination of Jews not only in the middle east but everywhere. And you have the leaders to prove it (Haj amin al Hussaini, arafat, Ahmadinijad, even Mohammad! It will never happen! A contiguous Pali state is no more reaslitic than a contiguous Pakistan with Bangladesh. So get used to it! And your phony melodramatic posturing doesn't fool anyone. You continue to be a group of unrealistic whiners who want everything and are willing to give nothing in return. I suggest you try Jordan or any of the other 33 arab countries who love you so much. Or you can try Finland and Sweden.
14. Negotiations
Howard ,   USA   (08.12.08)
Palestinians are babies. GGive me all the toys or I'm going home. Blah, blah, blah. How about if they are sent home to Jordan?
15. The Defeated In Any Way Must Make Unpleasant Concessions
Yonatan ,   Nahariya   (08.12.08)
Lest we forget, theses are the same arabs who sided with every foreign army in every war against Israel. The are still fighting the same war to ultimately destroy Israel albeit using every nefarious means at their disposal now. Giving land away to arabs has never worked so what Israel must do is explain to Abbas that if he does not make peace we will round up all the arabs in Israel and place them in Gaza where they will have a contiguous state. If they find that unacceptable then we send all of them to Jordan. A simple solution to decades of terror and defeated statesmen telling Israel what to do.
16. #2 - the IDF will help you with that... it won't be dignity
(08.12.08)
17. Israel would "return" to the Palestinians???
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (08.12.08)
Ynet should be more careful in its phrasing. The Palestinians were never sovereign in this land. The correct phrase might be "cede" or "turn over". Moreover, under UNSC 242, there is no requirement that Israel withdraw from 100% of the territories that fell under Israeli control in 1967. The PA insists "Palestine" be made "contiguous", thus making Israel non-contiguous. What then of Israel's right to "secure and recognized borders"? Even by this generous proposal, Israel is violating both its historic rights and its own "red lines". Is it going to cede the strategic Jordan Valley, putting both Israel and Jordan at risk? What about "nothing is agreed until everything is agreed"? If the issues of Jerusalem and refugees are put off to another day, there's no "end of claims" and "end of conflict". The Oslo-based "land for peace" two-state approach has failed. It is a dead end. And the single bi-national state solution is a non-starter. Time to try a different approach. Elon's Israel Initiative would be a good starting point.
18.  what else is new?
oded   (08.12.08)
the insane israeli offer is not acceptable.. of course it is not....... only a complete capitulation ,surrender and full evacuation of all jews from the land of israel would be accepted to the arabs, get it? the arabs controll 98% of the m.e lands... they will not rest and be satisfied until they control 1005 of them.
19. Thanks Abbas!
Simply Jewish ,   Yesha Israel   (08.12.08)
At least we can count on Abbas & his PA supporters to help us prevent that maniac Olmert from destroying Israel from within. Don't worry Abbas, we'll give you a meaningful peace deal that you won't be able to refuse, once we have true Jewish leadership!
20. HEY ABB(AS)OT! JERUSALEM IS OURS.. NOW AND FOREVER!
tal moody   (08.12.08)
besides which ... you're incapable of running any kind of entity that includes gaza... and you're not going to be leader of anything for very much longer.... like olmert.
21. To use a Willy Wonka analogy...
YMBMY ,   Modiin, Israel   (08.12.08)
Abbas = Veruca Salt (i.e., I want it all NOW) Olmert = Violet Beauregard's father (i.e., the used car salesman who cannot be trusted). Let's hope the Oompa Loompas take them away soon!
22. #9. I second that; great suggestion.
socalmaverick ,   sunny so-cal   (08.12.08)
23. #2 speaks of dignity...Ha!
DR ,   Florida, USA   (08.12.08)
You and your people have been the world's peasants for decades now...the biggest wellfare state ever and continue to fight for something that isn't even yours! In other worlds...you are a sad joke! Keep on fighting the good fight though!
24. Pals want Peace w/out Israel
Meir ,   Toronto   (08.12.08)
#5 correctly states that Israel should cede Arab parts of Israel to the PA. This is what should be swapped. Bibi has always stated that Arafat didn't want Peace with Israel, or even a piece of Israel, what he wanted was Peace without Israel. That is the bottom line. And as for contiguity, It is no less a problem for Israeli's wishing to go to Jerusalem from the Galil. To stay in Israel one would have to go around to Hiway 6. No exactly the shortest route.
25. Muslims Can Never Make Peace With Jews
GZLives   (08.12.08)
Its against their religion and when we all finally own up to this reality, p[erhaps those of us who have left the 7th century behind, can get on with our lives. Next time the Arabs misbehave we can sub contract the Russians to take care of things since that seems to work ...
26. No Problem!
Roy ,   USA   (08.12.08)
No problem. Mr. Abaabaablacksheep! No compromise... NO PALESTINE!
27. #2 Dignity of Death
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (08.12.08)
You have no dignity, never had dignity, not likely to achieve dignity. I guess that it's death for you.
28. #2-you have proven you have no dignity
Arie ,   BaGolan   (08.12.08)
So............ciao!
29. Eize chutzpa
Harissa ,   Israel   (08.12.08)
Hamas siezed nothing. They won the bloody elections by 76 seats in the Parliament. Why do you missinform people? Is too bad for us, but they are perfectly legal.
30. #19 just remember that it was "muslims" that saved the jews
sami ,   son of yaffa   (08.12.08)
during the spanish inquisitions. so don't just make a general statement like you did.
