31. #14 more stupid
DM ,   Amsterdam   (08.15.08)
Is a building aiming at the destruction of Israel? are Trees doing that? I learned trees are not allowed on the temple mount or in the beth hamikdash for that matter... Rather see the grey building on the right being erased...
32. To 13- racism? Beg your pardon, but this is nationalism
(08.15.08)
Go check a vocabulary. And in the meantime, you folks in Germany how do you feel about the French and Elsas-Lorrain?
33. Dome of the Rock must come down
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (08.15.08)
All Moslem sites must be cleared away in order to enable the rebuilding of the Temple. There is no holier place on earth than this spot. This is the place where G-d's Third Holy Temple will be re-established. Islam's refusal to allow the clearance of their structures is a primary cause for the delay in the Final Redemption.
34. no single Jewish tomb or synagogue demolished in Arab world
observer   (08.15.08)
According to a book by Dr. Meron Benvenisti, of the 160 mosques in the Palestinian villages incorporated into Israel under the armistice agreements, fewer than 40 are still standing. http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/878851.html You are challenged to prove that a single Jewish tomb or synagogue demolished in Arab world after migration of Jews to Israel.
35. The arabs wil take apart the dome themselves,...

36. How Is This News?
David ,   Jerusalem   (08.15.08)
You've just written an article that tells us what everyone understood when the Ramban settled in Jerusalem after the crusades, what the first settlers understood during the first aliyah, what the freedom fighters understood during the british occupation, what the founders understood when the state was declared and what was still understood when Israeli paratroopers stormed the temple mount during the six day war - that we and the arabs have a basic conflict of interests rooted on our essential national identities. This isn't news, its an attempt to cast an honest, enlightened awareness of one's own national and cultural interests in a bad light while saying nothing about the opposing interests. Yes, I'm sure the arabs are appalled that we are proud Jews who care about our heritage, our national character, and our deeply ingrained spiritual beliefs. So what? Why shouldn't we care about those things? Why shouldn't we pursue our interests? Why on earth would we want to put the interests of a people who will settle for nothing less than the obliteration of our state and our land running red with our own blood before our own? Why should we sacrifice what we are - our very beings - for them? They have 22 countries of their own. They have holy sites far more important to them than Jerusalem, which for them was a religious backwater until it became a *political* cause celebre. We are proud to be Jews, we are proud to be in Israel, we are proud to have a Torah, and we are proud of our God. There is no reason for us to do anything other than pursue a flourishing of our traditional practices and way of life. I say bravo to these people. Carefully dismantle both mosques and send them to Jordan to be reassembled on Arab land. If you really feel its so horrible to express honest, enlightened self interests; if you really feel the arab's interests should be placed before our own, then oversee the project, go with the mosques, and stay where you help them rebuild them. But don't sit here and play the "we should feel bad for being who we are" card because that is the fatal flaw of post-zionism, and even modern secular zionism. Jewish pride requires us to pursue Jewish interests. Get some or get out!
37. Can somebody tell me why God wants us ...
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (08.15.08)
to fight over real estate and worship to stones? What would be terrible if we built the third temple in another part of the city?
38. #5 A Mosque and the Temple on the Same Site!!!
Marc Rabie ,   Pretoria, South Afri   (08.15.08)
You must be silly. The mosque defiles the temple mount. They cannot and will not co- exist. Jeremiah warned Israel against being a Harlot. They better heed that call again. If only Olmert was anything like King Josiah!

Said ,   London, UK   (08.15.08)
Well, if we're going to start discussing history, then let's start at the beginning: How about the genocide of the Canaanites by the Hebrews? Even you people stole it from someone else - hardly in a position to accuse others! But like you said "anyone can ignore one part of history for another, to try to validate their point of view".
40. #14 did Jews conquered Muslims in a 67's holy war?

45. #1, Terry, Israel is 3,000 years old, Pal never existed
David ,   Boston, USA   (08.15.08)
Give me a break. You make no sense. The mosque is built on 2,500 year old Israel. Israel, get it, Arabs/Muslims built on Jewish land. The evidence is everywhere. Arabs didnt even call themselves Palestinians until 40 years ago.
46. 41,43, ask 60% of Israel's Jews who came from Arab countries

49. Third Temple
Gary Tomasch ,   Pt. Orchard, USA   (08.16.08)
Hey guys, look, you dont even consider what the Bible says about the subject. This 100% accurate record of history and events of the future says that there will be in fact a Third Temple and that after 3 and one half yrs the man that confirms a 7 year peace pact with Israel will defile this Holy Temple. I wont be here to see this on world wide television and can thank G-ds Son for that. The world is almost at a point that was foretold of in the Old Testament. When this event called the desolating sacrilege spoken of by the prophet Daniel happens all use of it by the Jews will end immediately. Then they will cry out for He that comes in the name of the Lord.

Someone fly a plane into the dome and get it over with already. What goes around comes around.
52. The holy place.
Ben   (08.16.08)
When you see the abomination of desolation standing in the holy place. How obvious can you get, Daniel? Hint #2: Every single time Israel has been punished by HaShem, it was for the same thing: Jerusalem hosting idolatry. Revelations states that Jerusalem will be totally destroyed in one hour. And this will happen strictly because Israel today allows the temple mount to continually be defiled, all day, every day. Prophecy says the dome will stand until HaShem has to destroy it himself, because there is no David today, and none will stand up to honor Abraham. I would love more than anything to see all that removed and the new temple built, but I am just as sure it is only a dream.
53. Lovely picture minus the Al Aqsa Mosque
Jane ,   USA   (08.16.08)
Hooray when that building is GONE and all of the other Muslim buildings!!!
54. JoJo is an Anti-Semite
Jane ,   USA   (08.16.08)
How the crap can it be racist when your country performed one of the largest mass murders of Jewish people probably in history? I think you need to keep your mouth shut on this subject. This land belongs to the Jewish people and no one else!! I would love to see the Jewish people rise up and kick the Muslims a**es.
55. IT SHOULD BE REMOVED
Sameer ,   Israel   (08.16.08)
HINDUS REMOVED BABRI MASJEED (MOSQUE) FROM RAMA'S (HINDU GOD) BIRTH PACE IN AAYODHYA (INDIA), NOW THEY HAVE WON COURT CASE TOO. MUSLIMS CAPTURED PLACES OF WOSHIP AND CONVERTED THEM IN TO MOSQUS. THIS MUST BE STOPPED. ALSO PUT AN END TO THEIR LODSPEAKERS, IT IS MOST IRRITATING THING AROUND.
56. al-masjid al-aqsa had nothing to do with Jerusalem, but...
Robert Bernier   (08.16.08)
al-masjid al-aqsa had nothing to do with Jerusalem, but was in fact the mosque in Madina. Politics, not religious sensibility, has fueled the Muslim attachment to Jerusalem for nearly fourteen centuries; what the historian Bernard Wasserstein has written about the growth of Muslim feeling in the course of the Countercrusade applies through the centuries: “often in the history of Jerusalem, heightened religious fervour may be explained in large part by political necessity.” This pattern has three main implications. First, Jerusalem will never be more than a secondary city for Muslims; “belief in the sanctity of Jerusalem,” Sivan rightly concludes, “cannot be said to have been widely diffused nor deeply rooted in Islam.” Second, the Muslim interest lies not so much in controlling Jerusalem as it does in denying control over the city to anyone else. Third, the Islamic connection to the city is weaker than the Jewish one because it arises as much from transitory and mundane considerations as from the immutable claims of faith. 60. Hamikdash
yh ,   la.usa   (08.16.08)
Shalom It is incumbent upon every person to try to build the Temple. This is an eternal commandment. Shemot 25.8 says "And let them construct a sanctuary for Me, that I may dwell among them".
