There were 10 times as many Palestinian noncombatant civilians killed last year by IDF and IAF in the Gaza Strip as all the Israeli terror victims from all the terrorists put together. So I think the people on the boats going to Gaza have their hearts and their minds in the right place.

When will Israelis learn that these so called “peace activists” are not blind or ignorant. It is precisely because Gaza is a terrorist enclave that they support it. It is precisely because the Security barrier denies Muslim terrorists access to Jewish men women and children that they campaign against it. It would be nice if we lived in a word where Anti- Semitism didn’t exist but we do not. Do not make the mistake of believing that these so called “Peace activists” are not consumed with the hate of Jews as are those they support, this is naive thinking. Unfortunately, the title 'blind and ignorant' to a large degree discribes the piece itself. For one thing, Israeli hospitals give no care to Palestinians for free. To say that they do is pure ignorance, with more than a tinge of propaganda. Secondly, while I do not support violence of any sort, I do not see a great difference between a suicide bomber and a bomber from an airplane. Thus, if you are going to have collective punishment for every suicide bomber, then you should demand the same for every Israeli airman who drops a one ton bomb on an apartment complex in order to catch a single 'wanted person.' In fact, you should demand the same for every airman who drops bombs on civilians. Lastly, you speak of the camps that the TV has shown of Gaza for the past several years (looks as if it's the identical film every year) of children being taught how to fight, but neglect (as does Israeli TV) to mention the 100s if not 1000s of Palestinian camps that keep the children busy painting, acting, and other simple things that children who have no pools, no access to the sea, no playgrounds can nevertheless engage in simple activities to keep them busy in a positive way. These are undoubtedly the majority of Palestinian summer camps. One final point, you neglect to mention that some Israeli camps are also highly militaristic, and that all Israeli education, from kindergarten through high school, is geared to motivate kids at the age of 18 to conscript into the military. Open your eyes. See where you live. The way to stop suicide bombers is by giving Palestinians the freedom, justice, and security that Israelis want for themselves.

Israel's blockade has murdered hundreds of children, elderly, and sick patients. (Not to mention destruction of all households economically) Palestinian rockets have murdered less than 10 Israelis in the past 8 years. (The answer is none, since every kassam is purposefully fired at civilian targets and is thus a human rights violation). So, Jerrold Cohen can only count the things he wants to count. The easiest question for Jerrold Cohen is "How many Palestinian noncombatant civilians would be killed if the Palestinians stopped attacking Israel?" But the numbers game is still there, and Jerrold Cohen won't count the number of Palestinian groups who reject peace with Israel, and won't count the number of Palestinian groups that have official policies of committing human rights violations.
