I don't think Denmark's decision to consider banning circumcision has any antisemit or antimuslim root. The National Council for Children & Ethics Council arguments sound rational. Facts are : Circumcision is irreversible, for both sexs, and yet it is only banned for girls. That's maybe the only valid comparison between these 2 customs, but that's a key argument. I'm sorry Denmark's jewish religious authorities seem only to react on such an emotional & irrational way. Such a law, if adopted, would have a very limited impact on jewish and muslim communities anyway. Some jews already practice a "Brit Shalom" on the 8th day, involving no circumcision. And I suppose a more symbolic ritual could be performed on the 8th day, "Hatafat Dam Brit" like... Anyway, the Brit Milah can already be delayed for health reasons until a non-religious authority (doctor...) deems the child healthy enough. Where's the problem if the Brit Milah has to be delayed during 15 years ? For Muslims, the age for circumcision varies greatly.
