61. Different Wall, different country.
Vic ,   Ireland   (12.02.08)
I am simply stating that this woman is uncommonly perceptive of the situation to which Israel has arrived through its continual punishment of civilians in Gaza. There is only evil to be found in evil deeds. All you have to do to see how rare a voice she is is to read through these responses . The overwhelming majority of which are fiendishly malevolent. As for No. 56 Barr claiming to have seen the Belfast Wall will subsequently have to be aware of the fact that both communities on either side of the barrier have equal rights equal freedom and equal access to all services. Its not a wall of opression or confiscation , rather it is a wall to stop the violent bored rabble from disturbing the precious peace on the drunken weekends.
62. Gazan's still support Hamas if their kids are starving????
This is rediculous ,   Sderot, Israel   (12.02.08)
Sounds like these people really have their priorities screwd up. You would think they would demand THEIR elected government (Hamas) to stop their terror and sign a real peace agreement. Wouldn't THAT solve the problem?
63. #61 Being useful idiot does not usually entail good judgment
Jake   (12.02.08)
And I think it is quite clear that the author of this article is a classical example of a useful idiot, as evidenced by her "peace dialogues" with an Egyptian on the BBC, in which she yielded and gave in on just about every issue to the vituperative rantings and ravings of her pen pal. "Meeting her halfway", so to speak, just wasn't good enough for Orly. Quoting Orly Noy does not strengthen your argument, seeing as most of what she has written here is demonstrably false and without any basis in fact. In your case, however, I would posit that you have grown bored now that the Troubles are over in Northern Ireland, and feel the need to let off some steam by picking on a more distant subject -oh how original- Israel. The fact that you would call Israel "evil" is indictive of your lack of moral clarity of any kind, so feel free to inject your venom elsewhere.
64. Evil deeds and Stupid people
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (12.02.08)
Hamas commits evil deeds by shelling Israeli towns with rockets, kidnap Israelis, blow up fuel depots, and stupid people like Orly and Vic in Ireland make excuses for them and repeat all the lies they make up.
65. Well jake...
Vic ,   Ireland   (12.03.08)
If you could provide some evidence to refute Orly's description of the situation you would have a scrap of credibility. In the absence of that you are one more armchair warrior trotting out others to do the fighting. How Original ?
66. I am ashamed of my Irish brother
I. Barr ,   USA   (12.03.08)
Vic, You do not know the history of our country. The Belfast fence is about 30 years old. Belfast's Ardoyne area was a notorious battlefield in which Protestants and Catholics who lived side by side fought each other. Hundreds were killed. The number of Irish killed surpasses by far the number of Palestinians killed by Israel in Gaza. Loyalists killed 864 and IRA 728 civilians plus about 1000 British troops. Many Palestinians killed in Gaza were Fatah killed by Hamas: Hamas wanted to see if Fatah can fly so they pushed them from tops of buildings. This did not happen in Belfast, but, vic, for an Irishman you should know what happened in your home before you visit other people houses.
67. Here's your evidence Vic

Lauren Booth in Gaza, in a grocery store full of food: http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/02uy2JZ8Uw445/610x.jpg Not only are the shelves fully stocked with all kinds of food, the "poor starving Palestinian" has a cell phone and a state of the art electronic cashier. Now, you show us pictures of people actually "starving."
68. More pictures of Gaza "starving" for Vic

69. Childish attitude to suffering of others.
Vic ,   Ireland   (12.03.08)
Candy and spices ?Typical Imperialist solution - let em eat candy. A couple of photos of a few sweets is not any evidence. What about a report? A report into the nutritional wellbeing of the children in Gaza ? That would constitute evidence. But all the reports coming out of Gaza confirm the fact that slow starvation is a fact of life. Like the report released by the Red Cross - 46 pages of research. which notes : "Chronic malnutrition is on a steadily rising trend and micronutrient deficiencies are of great concern,". Your photos are childish and meaningless. Ory Noy is factually correct in her assertions. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/chronic-malnutrition-in-gaza-blamed-on-israel-1019521.html
70. #69 If they have candy, they can have vitamins
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (12.03.08)
All the "suffering" of the Gazans is completely the fault of Hamas. They created this situation. Sure, they can blame Jews and Israel BUT HAMAS IS CAUSING THE SITUATION. Not Israel, not Jews.
71. world opinion is clear
Jody ,   New York, USA   (12.07.08)
It is astounding how many UN resolutions condemn Israeli actions, and that they are favored by a vast majority of countries in the world. The vote on many of these resolutions is something like 150-4 (the 4 being Israel, the US, and those very important nations Palau, Tuvalu, etc.). Shame. World opinion should matter.
