31. don't believe everything you read here
Sheine   (12.10.08)
Ynet is looney-left labour/kadima loving moribund journos - they have an agenda.
32. Bibi seems to want to lead Kadima, not Likud
Daniel ,   Formerly Israel   (12.10.08)
Bibi believes, perhaps rightly, perhaps wrongly, that the Israeli public is still in the thrall of the 'left-wing policies implemented by right-wing people' schpiel that won Kadima the last election. He wants to be PM and he believes that only a party with a left-wing ideology and a rightwing brand name can lead the government. He didn't join Kadima three years ago because it wouldn't have elected him its leader, so he decided to take the Likud, which did elect him as its leader, and make it into Kadima number 2, so that he could be sure he's in the PM's chair.
33. Undermining Likud
David   (12.10.08)
The article is not an analysis, but a devious way to undermine Likud. How does Mr. Somalfi know what Bibi said or thinks? By saying how "right wing" Likud is, he wants to steer away those in the middle who want to vote for Likud. Regardless of how imperfect the newly elected, (hopefully Likud) government may be, no one can be worse that Olmert, Livni, Barak and Kadima. Israelis have had enough time since Oslo to observe the Left in action and the disaster they have brought to the country. Fortunately, it seems, Israelis have woken up and no amount of Leftist scheming will make them vote for Kadima, Labor and the destruction of Israel.
34. heads i win, tails you lose
david ,   new york   (12.10.08)
what a mickey mouse country! do party leaders actually get to change the rules after people are elected?!?
35. Great Talkbackers!! #16 and #29 are correct
abe   (12.10.08)
36. Bibi Will Loose More Votes From Right
Ralph Levy ,   USA   (12.10.08)
Bibi Will Loose More Votes From Right if he kicks out Feiglin. The people want more people from the right than the left they don't want another Kadima or Labor left leaning candidate. If Bibi is trying so hard top get rid of Feiglin then maybe Bibi is too left to be elected and is under the control of th US and Blair. http://ralphsrant1.blogspot.com
37. Our political system is not democratic.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (12.10.08)
And our politicians think of the electorate as an annoyance, an obstacle to their ambitions. This is the mentality that lack of accountability breeds. "The will of the people" doesn't mean a thing here, it's just an empty expression with no substance. This has nothing to do with Left or Right. It is the direct result of our political system of proportional representation & "party" lists.
38. Be afraid. be very afraid of REAL JEWS.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (12.10.08)
39. We need a strong pro-Israel bloc
Pninah ,   in Israel   (12.10.08)
The only thing that might keep the over-rated Netanyahu from reverting to his past weak policies is a strong pro-Israel bloc in the Knesset. If only the prospective members of such a bloc could stop their dithering and compulsion to split into tiny parties that might be possible. But that is a very big "If only . . . "
40. Hobbes
Michael ,   Haifa   (12.10.08)
"Dog eat dog"
41. Anti-Democratic = Unethical
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (12.10.08)
Efforts to undermine a free election, by definition, are not just undemocratic they are anti-democratic. You cannot ask people to participate in a vote and then delegitimize their selections if it does not suit your agenda. I am not sure if that is criminal, but it is certainly higly unethical and worthy of severe condemnation.
42. Making hysteria against religious in Likud legitimate
Ilan ,   Ariel   (12.10.08)
Kadima is going to go after the Likud for people like Rivlin and Begin regardless of where Feiglin is in the list so this is just making the case that there is no room in the Likud for either religious MK's or for religious people to vote for the Likud. Kadima doesn't care for anything but keeping in power, pity for Netanyahu to make that easier to achieve.
43. Bibi - Livni where now is the difference ?
DT ,   TA Isr   (12.10.08)
Bibi is not fit to lead the Likud. Time for a partry coup and for the Right to lead. Soon you won't be able to tell the political difference between Livni and Bibi .
44. Baaah Baaaaah....So many silly sheep
freejew ,   Israel   (12.10.08)
#28, yes its possible but if you have read Attilas past propaganda stories, its hard to believe it is true! HAs anyone heard Bibi say any of this? You are all foolish to believe anything Attlila writes! He is nothing but a puppet for the left. If i hear this come out of Bibis mouth, and not some leftist PAllie loving liar, then i will vote for feiglin instead and stop supporting Bibi.
45. This is exactly Natanyahu's problem
Paul ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (12.10.08)
Natanyahu if he gets his way will produce a party not far from Kadima. Doesn't he understand that the people of Israel need an alternative to the loony-left. A party that hasn't caved in to foreign powers, and is not ashamed of it's glorious Jewish heritage? A party that will stand up Obama's inevitable leaning towards the EU and Arab definition of peace? Kadima with the Media has produced a center is that is actually Leftist to the CORE.
46. It is Bibi's time to retire
jason white ,   afula,israel   (12.10.08)
He acts more like a dictator than a leader of a democratically elected party. He belongs in the putin school of party politics. The party members choose who they want and not the leader. Enough with these old time members of the knesset and let new blood in.
47. to #4 That was Dorothy Parker not
jason white ,   afula,israel   (12.10.08)
Ogden Nash. He said,"the bronx,no thonx".
48. Netanyahu Great White Hope?
Lawrence Tendler ,   Safed Israel   (12.10.08)
Can't tolerate any competition .More fun and games...at least with Olmert we know what we are getting.
49. Is Israel a Democracy?
Michael   (12.10.08)
Kadima the first unelected party governs Israel. Now, Likud who has a primary doesn't like the peoples' choice so they try to change the results. There are no words
50. Time for Bibi to go ?
DT ,   TA Isr   (12.10.08)
Seems to me that Bibi is the one who should be ousted. He is becoming less and less liked
51. # 49 On Paper Yes ,In reality ?
Lawrence Tendler ,   Safed Israel   (12.10.08)
52. BIBI THE NEW LIVNI
(12.10.08)
53. IF BIBI DOESN'T LIKE RIGHTISTS HE CAN GO TO MERETZ
(12.10.08)
54. bibi jealous?feels his leadership position threatend?
yahn goodey   (12.10.08)
get used to it---someone better than all of us eventually comes along and there is not a thing you can do to stop it that is ethical. better is a poor and wise child than an old and foolish king, who knoweth not how to receive admonition any more---------the people are for the "child,"that was to stand up in the kings stead-ecclesiastes 4:13-16 maybe its time to consider retirement----walk away graciously while others can miss you with fond memories instead of being glad you are gone?
55. Like Sharon, too ready to ignore ...
Stu ,   Michigan USA   (12.10.08)
... the will of his party. If Bibi does this now, even before becoming PM, what will he do when he is (maybe) PM? What will he give away to Israel's enemies? How badly will he cave in to the demands of Obama? At least the party elected a few that will stand up to these pressures.
56. #43 With Respect,I have said this for
Lawrence ,   Safed Israel   (12.11.08)
Months.Bibi is little different from the others..just more of the same.He is a wonderful speaker, extremely eloquent .
