The Edah HaChareidis are more or less universally respected in the Haredi world, and the fact that they sanction this sort of behavior is a warning for all of us. At present they are only a small portion of the population, but once they reach 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, we are going to start feeling their intolerance ourselves. It's only a matter of time before the sane majority in this country realises that we have to deal with these people and solve this issue once and for all, peacefully or otherwise.
