There are plenty of practices YOU folow that are not in the Shulchan Aruch or with which the Shulchan Aruch disagrees, but, al pi hagedoylim, you follow. I live in Bet SHemsh, and know the sister of the victim. This story is 100% true, and anybody who denies it is just fanning the fire!! This isn't the first time something like this has happened!! I have personally been approached by Haredi members of Bet Shemesh, and have been spit at a couple times because I was walking with friends who were from the opposite Gender. Also, neighbors of mine who's apartment building is in the Modern Orthodox side, yet is still across the street from the Haredi's, received a letter stating "that when the Haredim look out their windows and into my neighbors, they see their television. Therefore, if they do not get rid of their television, the Haredim are not responsible for any damage caused to your house." This type of behavior is iintolerable, and must be put to an end!! Something that you all should be informed about. The girl's father went to file a poolice report, and afterwards he asked the police chief what is going to be done, to which the reply was nothing.
