Stones hurled at a moving car can break the windshield and can cause the car to crash and all the passengers to be killed; even more - the crashing car can cause other crashes too and even more passaengers dead or at least heavily injured. The palestinians which throw stones know this very well so obviously this is their intention and this is just a murder attempt and shooting them is nothing more then pure self-defence.
