All of the people that keep blaming Israel for the blockade seem to forget that everytime they open up the borders, some idiot climbs onto a bus and blows it up. If you a solution to stop that I am sure open borders would be a non-issue.

The Gazans have been firing rockets for 8 years.Yes, 8 years. The reason there weren't more deaths in Israel is because there are warning sirens and underground structures to protect the citizens. People in Sderot have about 17 seconds from the sound of a siren to find shelter. Why don't the Palestinians make shelters for the citizens? Why do they take them into the streets to get killed??? With all the UN and European money, why haven't the Gazans made a productive home for their people instead of making war? The Palestinians destroyed about3100 productive greenhouses that were bought for them from the Israelis that left Gaza by Jewish philantropists, instead of letting many Gazan's produce and earn a living. Many Gazans used to make a living when the Israelis had those greenhouses. Now it's better? They destroyed them the moment the Israelis left Gaza 3+1/2 years ago!!!! As far as anonimous Italian source, it's Corriere della Sera, the best known Italian newspaper. But when it's against Isreal, you don't seem to worry whether it is anonimous or not.

Hamas does NOT suffer free people and independent opinions. Unless you belong to the Hamas inner circle, you are just a mean for Hamas to achieve its goals. If you stand in Hamas way, they will aim to kill you! Their rhetoric calls for the destruction of IL (no compromise), killing ALL the Jews, and reestablishing the Muslim empire. This is documented by Hamas as well (if you can read Arabic). Their actions are in line with these messages. Gaza was unitarily withdrawn by IL 3.5 years ago. For IL point of view, it has been open to see how the Palestinians would manage their affairs. This experience failed measurably. Hamas attacked IL repeated with rockets, with exceeding range, reaching 15 miles from Tel-Aviv. Hamas killed hundreds of Gaza residents for their alleged political affiliation. Hamas crippled the Gaza economy by depressing any means of existence unless controlled by Hamas. Example: they repeatedly attack the border passed with IL, while maintaining a flourishing exchange of goods via the tunnels to Egypt. Hamas educates its youth to hate and kill. Those Palestinians would tell the truth if their very lives depended on it. It's all about saving face and making Israel look bad. Hamas' leaders send teenagers out to die for them...how couageous of them.....

You are right to question any info sources. But, this should apply to Hamas as well. In fact - MORE SO. IL is probably far more credible for a very simple reason: In IL there is a basic right to hold and convery independent views and opinions. On the other hand, under Hamas, you are dead(!) if you are suspected of deviating from the sanctioned line! The fact is that there are many IL individuals and orgs that expresses opinions deviating from its goverment. However, do you know anybody who tried this under Hamas and survived? Not many, and their lives are under threat!

How is leveling key economic sectors in gaza defense? How is using white phosphorous defense? How is bombing mosques and the university defense? People must concider that just because israel says "there were weapons in there" it doesn't make it true. If the goal was to set gaza back years and keep one people in complete control over another then yes you succeeded. But where in the tora does it condone this kind of bruit behavior

Why would the doctor, even anonymously, tell the press the number of Gaza injured or killed was inflated? He's committing suicide. Hamas gets wind of it and lines up all the doctors, asks them which one spoke to the press, no one answers, and Hama says, "Ok, then, unless someone talks, we'll kill you all."
