Muhammed Bakhri can argue that the Gazans democratically elected Hamas. That is true and it is not to their credit. It also does not mean that Hamas is not the equivalent of a social cancer. I would wish to hear some Palestinian have the guts to denounce Hamas, the way some Israelis can criticize the leaders of Israel.

The US has given billions rebuilding Germany and Japan after bombing the hell out of them to destroying their evil regimes. Hundreds of thousands have died but millions were saved. Both countries are now rivaling the US's in terms of economic strength. They're at peace with their neighbors.
